I really like the new Tony. Not as whingey

Tom sounds neither Lancs, Yorks nor anything remotely northern. TBH he doesn't seem to have much of any sort of accent to me.

I've been thinking about Kirsty. The present relationship with the Sausage King has been set up to happen from long ago.

The Brenda thing was just an interlude - clearly they had opposite ideas about the future (although she was a whizz with the marketing allegedly).

Kirsty is a perfect candidate for the compliant, child (and sausage) producing farmer's wife. She will fit nicely into the Ambridge mould still warm from the production of Jill, Peggy, Rooth, Shula etc - no amibition to travel further than Darrington and no aspirations to own any footwear other than wellies.

Well... I don't think Ruth fitted terribly easily into the mould at first. When they were first married she nearly murdered David for daring to offer her frozen pizza rather than a "proper" meal, after she'd spent a day in the lambing shed or wherever. And he said he had (stupidly) thought she'd be just like his mother - the little woman in the kitchen. Even though they had got together on the understanding that she would be an equal partner in the farm.

Kirsty is a disappointment to me - but she's certainly earned her future.
