Perfect amount of money for them to have a nice holiday but not ruin their lives or have the whole Horrobin tribe after it. Smile

ComposHat · 14/01/2014 13:20

Yes Susan's previous trip away involved a stay in one of those HMP group hotels.

BitOutOfPractice · 14/01/2014 13:20

I go away for 4 days and noyt only miss the Archers (damn you iPlayer not working in forrinland!) but there's been a whole new thread!!

stowsettler · 14/01/2014 16:06

Oooh feeling very proud of myself. Just catching up with last week's omnibus and I think to myself, "Oooh new Tony sounds just like David Troughton..." and lo and behold I find he is indeed the second coming.

Rather surprised such an acclaimed thesp is roughing it in Ambridge

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 14/01/2014 17:54

OhSad Just heard Jess. On the PM prog. And Jenny. And the word "Snell".

They're trying to define "middle class".

The Jess / Jenny salmon conversation was in the sound-montage. And Lynda's surname.

Gah stupid SWs haven't checked their facts again! There have been no prizes of £4500 on any lottery as far as I can see.

Hazel will be taking centre stage tonight...

It does help to remember she's the dotty granny in Wizards vs Aliens.
And that evil trumping monster in Dr Who.

PseudoBadger · 14/01/2014 18:54

A Slytheen?

Is W v A any good? I've been too cowardly to take a look (Torchwood debacle fear.....)

Goodness. Is she planning to gobble up all the men?

CarolineKnappShappey · 14/01/2014 19:08

Ah yes, slitheen!

I haven't really watched W vs A. But the DCs love it.
I really liked Torchwood though.

CarolineKnappShappey · 14/01/2014 19:09

Goodness Hazel's a piece of work....

WhatSheSaid · 14/01/2014 19:16

Bumper funeral episode, we've had about eight different people speaking!

Jill being burgled will be...what? A reason for her to move somewhere else? In with David and Ruth?

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 14/01/2014 19:19

If it came to that she would definitely go to Lower Loxley......

WhatSheSaid · 14/01/2014 19:33

Jill is 83 so I reckon they will be slowly building up to her moving in with one of her children...though Peggy is 90 this year and seems to be managing fine.

LondonMother · 14/01/2014 19:54

Jill being burgled - could be advance warning that Clive Horrobin is out again. Or it could be a public service announcement that there are plenty of scummy people around who look for funeral announcements and try their luck while they know the family will be at the funeral. Poor old Jill, that's a shock for anybody. Can't see her moving in with any of the family, though. My mum and dad are a similar age and managing just fine on their own so far (fingers crossed).

Hazel is utterly vile. Looking forward to Thursday and the meeting with the solicitor!

ErrolTheDragon · 14/01/2014 19:59

Yes - unfortunate side-effect of having funeral notice in the local press (esp with an obit too). Surprised it was Jill not Peggy who was the target. If you're arranging a funeral or wedding, its a good idea to ask a neighbour to keep an eye out.

Do hope the finger of suspicion doesn't point to Darrell...

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 14/01/2014 20:08

ShockClive Horrobin and the Lotto win. Painful.... That really is a story we don't want to hear.

But I always have the impression that (post Nigel) Elizabeth rather leans on her mother and would jump at the chance to have her there full time.

Jill wouldn't want to go back to her old home I'm sure. Or the Bull. And the Stables would be dull now Dan is almost gone.

TheOneWithTheNicestSmile · 14/01/2014 20:18

oooh, I am looking forward to the denouement at the solicitor's

Am banking on Peggy magnificently seeing off Hazel with her tail between her legs Grin

lljkk · 14/01/2014 21:32

I agree it's about Jill moving in with one of her kids. St. Shula is obvious choice.

Bluestocking · 14/01/2014 21:49

Thanks so much for confirming that Hazel is a Slitheen - AB has such a distinctive voice, I was sure it was her! Apparently she and Timothy West are joining EastEnders this year too - it's all go.
I look forward to Hazel and Piggoi slugging it out in front of the lawyer. It'll be like that bit in Alien where Ripley wears the heavy lifting suit to go mano a mano with the evil creature.

ashInTheAttic · 15/01/2014 11:50

I agree with Zero - Elizabeth does rather lean on Jill and could probably find her a random flat somewhere within the mansion.

TheOnlyOliviaMumsnet · 15/01/2014 12:13

Is is wring to wish that
Jill would say to Kenton
" oh no darling, I haven't been burgled, I just couldn't be arsed to tidy up"
Grin

WipsGlitter · 15/01/2014 13:57

What will Hazel be able to do at the lawyers? Will she be implying that he wasn't of sound mind so she gets a bigger share.

Currently listening to the dinner party ep on catch up, cringy.
