Knew that Witchazel would pop up soon .
On the subject of the Wooley finances ,I remember that years ago they had money troubles, this has always confused me ,how did it get resolved?
Soon after didn't they get a new conservatory and Peggy continued to bail out TomConfused

Bet moany Tony is mentally getting Peggoi fitted for a coffin. When Peggoi dies she will both figuratively and literally buy the farm for Tony.

I hate to say this, but thr actor who playes Jeck gave one of the least convincing portrayal of Alzeimer's Disease, but then I always thought he was pretty ropey before the diagnosis.

Peter Vaughan in Our Friends in the North is the best portrayal I've seen of someone with Alzeimer's

It's odd It must be my age, and because i'm a Greenham Common feminist too. I sympathise completely with Pat and just can't understand the animosity towards her. Loved Jennydahling's faux concern.

I was disappointed in Hazel- I seem to remember her as being more subtly slimily nasty- not so obvious. Go Peggy, though!

HumphreyCobbler · 13/01/2014 13:33

Just actually caught up (whilst doing shred Grin it takes some of the sting out). LOVED the dinner party and the way they all bitched about him them stopped as he came into the room. Thought Helen more than usually obnoxious afterwards, even making allowances for Pat's muttered insults.

As for Hazel, she is priceless. The faux sobbing especially.

I am really enjoying the show at the moment. I wonder if Helen will finally do the right thing now she has Henry to think about? Or will the SW condemn her to an abused wife role? I think she should see the light and sort herself out.

yes i would prefer rob to have his comeuppance i think

all that butter and pork pseudo? Wink

I thought Peggy delivered a masterclass in dealing with obnoxious people, very gracefully done! Will have to store some of her techniques away for a colleague I have at work Grin.

Sadly there are RL Hazels who turn up and make a song and dance about getting 'what's theirs' having not been around or had any kind of meaningful relationship with the deceased for years. Pretty sure that all stuff relating to the will is watertight though...

gwenniebee · 13/01/2014 14:21

Can anyone remind me what Hazel does and where she lives (Gypsy mentioned LA perhaps?) which is so important that she couldn't come to visit her very dear father?

(Btw, I thought describing her father as "very dear to" her was a weird turn of phrase. It's the kind of thing you might say about an uncle, but not your father, I thought.... by maybe that's just me. "Dear" seems a bit insipid for your supposedly much loved dad.)

ErrolTheDragon · 13/01/2014 14:23

Hazel -'claims to work in the film business'

gwenniebee · 13/01/2014 14:58

Aha. Thanks :)

allthesongssoundthesame · 13/01/2014 15:10

In amongst the relationship melee at Bridge Farm we are missing the real story. Did Pat get a supporator for her birthday? And what about Helen's new cheese mats?

We should be told.

WillieWaggledagger · 13/01/2014 15:21

ew look at the definition of suppuration

allthesongssoundthesame · 13/01/2014 15:31

Crikey.

And we had all thought Manky Clarrie the source of the E Coli outbreak..

OddFodd · 13/01/2014 15:40

It's a separator she wants isn't it? :o

JollyGolightly · 13/01/2014 15:46

I think the actor who played Jack had Alzheimer's. His last scene was recorded in a RL Laurels.

GypsyFloss · 13/01/2014 15:56

I do hope Hazel bogs off soon with her strange voice. I just want Pat and Rob and Helen fighting it out , with New Tony being uncharacteristically cheerful and a little bit of Tom and Kirsty's wedding plans on the side.

curlew · 13/01/2014 22:13

I do think pat has a right to be pissed off about the "jewellery lessons"......

nennypops · 13/01/2014 23:07

LondonMother, I think you're thinking of John Nettles and the series Bergerac. Shoestring was that thing with Trevor Eve.

nennypops · 13/01/2014 23:08

Sorry, thought the end of page 2 was as far as the thread had got, hence somewhat disjointed and out of date post there. Ignore me.

nennypops · 13/01/2014 23:13

I bet Hazel is going to start accusing Peggy of misusing the Power of Attorney to fritter Jeck's money away. There's got to be some sort of money argument.

Ginfox · 14/01/2014 08:32

Holly is going to eat the lottery ticket isn't she?

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 14/01/2014 08:42

T

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 14/01/2014 08:48

That's a possibility - but It's been a way for the puppy to redeem herself in Susan's eyes so that ought to be the end of "their" story.

Also it would have to be a lot more money surely if tthe SWs were going to make them lose it? What they've won is just the right amount for Susan's dream holiday - so I really hope they get to go....

Bluestocking · 14/01/2014 08:55

I'm sure Susan has put that winning ticket somewhere very safe - in her purse, which is in her handbag, somewhere well out of Holly's reach! I hope the SWs let her have her exotic, romantic holiday too. Poor old Susan.
