I'm Lillian :o

NorthernLurker · 31/01/2014 20:16

I was nearly physically sick in my car on the way home listening to that oily sod. Didn't he and jess have a row about him not wanting a baby with her? Have I dreamt that?

Utter git. We're steering in to nasty waters with him. He is so getting Helen up the duff asap. Make it much harder for her to leave. Git.

ErrolTheDragon · 31/01/2014 20:20

I though I remembered rob whingeing to Helen that he wanted kids but Jess didn't.(but if that's correct, that doesn't mean NL is wrong if Rob is an unreliable narrator)

Iwantacampervan · 31/01/2014 20:26

Hazel has appeared in Eastenders alongside Kate armed with a trifle. They will all be there next with totally natural accents !
I still see her as a Slitheen though.

winterkills · 31/01/2014 21:10

Agree with pseudo, they need people to accept Rob to make the subsequent dv storyline more believable. He needs to be plausible while at the same time letting the listeners know what a creep he is, a difficult balancing act.

Sounds like Peggy is going to insist they get married, maybe make it a condition of the inheritance? That's going to be tricky if Jess is still out there...or if she's under the patio

TallGiraffe · 31/01/2014 21:12

We will need a new title soon Pseudo!

Can I suggest "who knew a fondant fancy could be so dramatic?"

PseudoBadger · 31/01/2014 21:14

Sleeping with the Enemy?

Yes, barbarian, it was a sudden flash of imagining on my part - how you'd get aristocratic brains and wot not off aristocratic flagstones. Yuck. And, as I said before, poor dear Nige. (I did like him, sob, and I do know it's a story, just). Also, my observation from living in rural area myself is that there is a business idea for everything. Some of them might not last very long. Possibly hosing down aristo flagstones (for whatever reason) must be one of the lowest demand occupations ever? but, at times, a useful service nonetheless. Oh dear, I wanna watch a film and DH is asleep lying out on the sofa in front of the screen. aargh. dilemma. I may have to go to bed and read my book instead.

BasketzatDawn · 31/01/2014 21:29

As a title, why not just 'Anyone for a fondant fancy?'

TallGiraffe · 31/01/2014 21:33

Can I also add, that like TA in my life, this thread is like a wonderful breath of reassurance and normality in a MN that has gone crazy for the past week Confused

PseudoBadger · 31/01/2014 21:37

Once again I'm ever so proud of my little thread Blush

OP posts:
TheOneWithTheNicestSmile · 31/01/2014 21:43

Zero, thanks for the Jill interview link Smile

I love what she said about things being tighter & more fun under the new producer. Not just the listeners who got fed up with VW then!

GypsyFloss · 31/01/2014 22:32

I love your little thread Pseudo it's the highlight of my MN'ing .

GypsyFloss · 31/01/2014 22:32

I also like " anyone for a fondant fancy?" as a title Grin

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 31/01/2014 22:33

I missed the HelRobPig showdown!!!!! WAAAAAH!!!!

Mixture of dd nursery interrogation meeting, dd tantrums and my own church choir practice. God really shouldn't get in the way of the Archers.

WillieWaggledagger · 31/01/2014 23:10

Pas it was a damp squib really but as others have said probably necessary for the slow burn

CuttedUpPear · 01/02/2014 00:46

I third "Anyone for a fondant fancy?"

I really thought that Piggoi was going to ask Rob if he was still married. All old bats biddies that age always think that way IME.
And when she said something about them being together properly, I thought that was what it was leading into.

MrsCampbellBlack · 01/02/2014 06:26

I love this thread too - there's no-one in my life who I can discuss this incredibly important subject with Wink

I've missed all the drama on here, its amazing you go back to work and sudddenly so much less time to spend on here Wink

Bluestocking · 01/02/2014 08:19

I fourth "Anyone for a fondant fancy?"
TA is just brilliant at the moment; I love the mix of serious stories - Eddie's real anger at Will and Ed (about time too), creepy Rob and his cheesy victim, poor old Jill becoming more and more vulnerable - and frivolous nonsense, like the lottery win and the jack snipe that wasn't.

GypsyFloss · 01/02/2014 08:19

I work part time so have days where I am on a permanent MN loop and days when I get to 10pm and realise that I haven't had time to check this thread.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 01/02/2014 08:23

A little something for you all.

ppeatfruit · 01/02/2014 08:36

Yes thanks for the link zero VERY interesting about how the actors are enjoying it more now;dsis worked for the beeb and she said that all TA workers hated you know who!

MostlyLovingLurchers · 01/02/2014 10:32

Can i just nip in to suggest using 'temperamental among corvids'?

JessieMcJessie · 01/02/2014 10:35

cutteduppear isn't it simply common knowledge that Rob is still married? His wife was hosting a party not 6 weeks ago. Even a quicky divorce couldn't be that fast! so when Peggy talked about a time in the futute when they cpuld be together properly, I assumed she was referring to after Rob's divorce.

Though it was a bit odd when he said of himself "I have been married". Endlessly frustrating that NOBODY-not Pat, not Kirsty, not Helen, not Lilian, not Jenny, not Brian has asked Rob the key question about what he's doing re divorce. Even if Helen were burying jer head in the sand there are plenty others who could confront the elephant in the room.

TheSparklyPussycat · 01/02/2014 11:05

Harking back to way upthread, and drawing on Patricia Greene link:

"That’s right. Breakfasts at Brookfield with Judy Bennett [Shula] playing three children. Yes, that was quite fun. "
