Crikey I better listen to last night's Grin!!!!

JollyGolightly · 08/01/2014 11:00

Im really enjoying this week so far, which is usually a precursor to a massive letdown, but must stay positive.
Helen is jawdroppingly, fabulously awful. I do take my hat off to the actor (luiza..?) for doing such a convincing job. I love to hate her.

OddFodd · 08/01/2014 11:59

How are TomnKirsty going to afford Lower Loxley? Elizabeth can't give family discounts to everyone otherwise she'd never make a profit

WillieWaggledagger · 08/01/2014 12:10

she's got a hole in the calendar hasn't she after a big cancellation? i thought it sounded rather convenient...

BitOutOfPractice · 08/01/2014 12:50

FYI the reason the wedding date is significant is that it's my wedding anniversary. Which I thought was nice even though I'm divorced

ErrolTheDragon · 08/01/2014 13:03

Willie, I think you're spot on why Alan's Saturdays were booked.

campion · 08/01/2014 13:22

How many weddings are there likely to be in a little village church, local population about 70 (you'd think from listening), between January and April?

Probably none. Besides, the vicar usually has the week off after Easter.

ErrolTheDragon · 08/01/2014 13:34

We don't know how big the two parishes Alan serves are - he has to marry any (heterosexual, single)couple within the parishes who wants, not just churchgoers or people in the actual village.

LondonMother · 08/01/2014 13:39

I think he looks after five or six parishes - certainly at least four. The population of Ambridge is supposed to be well over 500. There are lots of commuters we never hear from.

ppeatfruit · 08/01/2014 13:56

So Hell and Kirsty are having a chat by the pond; kirsty notices Henry doing something silly and corrects him but (so she must be aware that Hell is loop the the friggin' loop) she doesn't see him actually fall over nearly into the pond. I know it's not Kirsty's fault but I'd 've been watching him.

TheOneWithTheNicestSmile · 08/01/2014 14:18

\link{http://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2014/jan/08/a-month-in-ambridge-review'the pièce de résistance, a whole salmon garnished from top to toe with cucumber, was stretched out like a corpse at a funeral'}

The wonderful Nancy B-S Grin

TheOneWithTheNicestSmile · 08/01/2014 14:20

I don't think the picture matches the awful reality however

ppeatfruit · 08/01/2014 14:49

Oh yes I love Nancy Banks Smith too TheOneWith Grin

I liked the new Tony BTW. Tony has been known to stand up to Pat occasionally. Grin

TheSparklyPussycat · 08/01/2014 14:54

If you read Nancy's piece, do check out the stampeding sheep link Grin

ErrolTheDragon · 08/01/2014 15:11

That's a lot of sheep...I'm going to use that as an excuse to post my favourite .

The salmon picture was obviously found by someone who didn't know what a dressed salmon was.

Impomea · 08/01/2014 15:17

Grin Thanks for the brilliant link.

Perhaps the new Tony will be a bit more assertive, after all he was a bit of a goer in his younger days ,one for the laydees before he went organic that was .

WillieWaggledagger · 08/01/2014 16:19

a dressed salmon is so evocative of the family parties of my childhood. like profiteroles

LondonMother · 08/01/2014 16:25

Errol, fantastic link! Thanks a million.

choccyp1g · 08/01/2014 16:37

Those sheep weren't stampeding, they were just strolling along. We've bben fleeced!

TallGiraffe · 08/01/2014 17:37

Errol - I love that video! I used to work with sheep and we played that a lot whenever we needed cheering up!

ErrolTheDragon · 08/01/2014 18:12

I thought there'd be people here who would like it. Smile

Profiteroles are much nicer than a whole salmon. Jess should have made those, the whole event would have gone differently.

Just had an idea - instead of Ambridge Extra, they should do an Ambridge Alternative - a sort of sliding doors parallel mini-universe resulting from one minor change.

JaneEyresHeir · 08/01/2014 19:06

Pat's starting to put two and two together ......
Wonder when she'll remember about the jewellery classes?

'This is all Rob's fault. What's he done to her?'
Erm - it takes two, Mrs A!

duchesse · 08/01/2014 19:13

Tony is just wrong.

NorthernLurker · 08/01/2014 19:15

Hmmmmmm George is behaving oddly. Spent some time with his dad over Christmas did he.....
