I know.....

I was Xmas Shock Xmas Blush

ppeatfruit · 17/12/2013 08:21

I'd never heard of a keyboard with Freudian slips !!!!

BitOutOfPractice · 17/12/2013 08:29

Hmmm curlew. I think he's older than tom but tom is the son of the older brother isn't he? If it were like a royal family it'd pass down the male line and tom would have it.

curlew · 17/12/2013 08:46

True- but I thought Tony was younger than Jennifer? Only son, though......

ErrolTheDragon · 17/12/2013 09:19

I've missed a couple, wish I'd heard the Jess/Jenny bit! Well, perhaps Helen is upduffed but in a few years time will die of cheese fever and bequeath her offspring to Jess...

Surely Susan and Neil will veto a casual puppy? Please SWs lets have a strong 'A dog is for life not just for Christmas' message. Will of course will need to get a replacement for Baz anyway for work.

BitOutOfPractice · 17/12/2013 11:42

No I think tony is the eldest. I think

ppeatfruit · 17/12/2013 12:25

Well Errol The discussion between Emm and Ed about the puppy seems serious and not flippant at all. I'm sure as country people they would look after it properly. I say that but in France around here (in the rural backwater) dogs are generally NOT looked after well.

fluffiphlox · 17/12/2013 13:19

No. Both Jennifer and Lilian are older than Tony.

I've been listening since the early 70s when I should have been doing my homework.

Favourite line: 'Mummy, where's Comet?')

(Comet was a pony who had gone to the knacker's yard, rather unexpectedly).

or: 'Sammy, you've come back!' (Tony to Peggy's cat, that he should have been looking after)

PseudoSanta · 17/12/2013 13:27

How wonderful was last night's episode! I loved the clear back story with Jess and Rob that we don't know about. And knowing more about Jenny's marriage than Jess does was a lovely thing too.

PseudoSanta · 17/12/2013 13:30

And Rob - "I don't want to live in bloody Ambridge". He's obviously heard The Archers :o

TheOneWithTheNicestSmile · 17/12/2013 13:34

Tom is the oldest one with the Archer surname, but Adam is the oldest of that generation.

TheOneWithTheNicestSmile · 17/12/2013 13:36

oh wait - Helen is the oldest one with the Archer surname!!!

Eastpoint · 17/12/2013 18:04

I just listened to last night's episode - really good, I agree completely with PseudoSanta & MrsCampbellBlack.

ErrolTheDragon · 17/12/2013 18:26

I caught the repeat too - Jess has got a bit of a crush on Jenny and her lifestyle, hasn't she? I don't think she's going to be able to emulate that - Brine is a philanderer but he and Jenny are partners, Rob seems to have a very nasty streak and there's definitely something askew with that relationship.

ErrolTheDragon · 17/12/2013 19:05

The discussion between Emm and Ed about the puppy seems serious and not flippant at all.

I'm growling already at the opening of tonights...

TallGiraffe · 17/12/2013 19:27

Can I just ask, as a lifelong vegetarian, what is a fish kettle?!

BitOutOfPractice · 17/12/2013 19:40

It's a long metal container for poaching fish in I believe. Like Jess, I don't have one

curlew · 17/12/2013 19:43

Anyone want to borrow mine? Well, they'll have to wait til after Christmas- I need it for steaming multiple Christmas puddings.......

curlew · 17/12/2013 19:44

I think I'm channelling my inner Jennydarling.........

Eastpoint · 17/12/2013 20:09

Jenny's recipe for salmon is what you'd expect from a 65 yr old. Jess' own recipe seemed much more interesting to me.

I like Jess & feel very sorry for her.

Selks · 17/12/2013 20:14

'Better take another gas canister out to Darrell, Ed, for his heater.....'

That is NOT going to end well!!

OddFodd · 17/12/2013 20:24

A side of poached salmon, decorated with slices of cucumber, as the centrepiece of a buffet fills me with horror.

Jess is going to be laughed out of the village

curlew · 17/12/2013 20:30

Really? I think it sounds lovely. Blush. I wouldn't like wasabi mayonnaise with cold salmon- it would drown it.

GypsyFloss · 17/12/2013 20:50

Poor Darrell , I predict a deading when that new gas canister meets the fumes from Joe's special scrumpy.
