ppeatfruit · 07/11/2013 16:15

Oh yes Peggy I wonder if her cats do poos in the fields? Praps there needs to be a cat and dog cull in Amb.!! Grin

curlew · 07/11/2013 16:18

Don't forget the ferrets!

SongbirdScreamsInTheDeadOfNite · 07/11/2013 16:44

Getting in 470 messages early, but I like Don't forget the ferrets! for a future thread title.

ppeatfruit · 07/11/2013 17:04

Ah but don't ferrets poo underground? my knowledge of ferret habits is very vague I admit; the Grundys' ones live in cages too don't they?

Songbird Grin have you NC??? Grin

SongbirdScreamsInTheDeadOfNite · 07/11/2013 17:13

Oops, yes, Halloween is so last week isn't it?

Bluestocking · 07/11/2013 21:06

What's the betting we're heading for a SATTC moment with Jill's increasingly dangerous driving?

EachAndEveryHighway · 07/11/2013 22:05

Hmmm - I didn't get tonight what on earth Daryl could possibly have done to knacker Daniel's videos ... I mean VHS videos were pretty robust weren't they? Not like flimsy DVD discs, that are easily scratched. I'd've thought they'd survive being kicked, wine spilt on them, sat on, target practice etc ... so did he put 'em in the oven or something?

curlew · 07/11/2013 22:42

I didn't get that either. Did he pee on them or something?

Bluestocking · 07/11/2013 22:47

I assumed he'd puked on them.

TallGiraffe · 08/11/2013 07:21

I also couldn't work out how you destroy VHS tapes, short of burning them Confused

SthingMustBeScaringThemAway · 08/11/2013 07:50

Goodness the SWs really don't like him. He has committed the worst sin of all - trashing actual Archer heritage. He's done for....

Regarding Jill; there was a tiny hint during BBC writersroom TA week that this could be a longer term story. And not necessarily a cosy one. But I might have misunderstood.

SthingMustBeScaringThemAway · 08/11/2013 08:08

Actually the interviews etc held during said week (linked upthread) ought to give one confidence that they know exactly what they're doing. But looking back to the beginning if this (3rd) thread - there's so much that has been disappointing.

Maureen / Carol dug up out of the archives but not used to spice up:

Susan's birthday.... After all these years surely she deserved a "posh" party at GG as a surprise from Neil.

I still don't understand why Bridge Farm getting rid of the cows is not a fabulously helpful thing for Ed's business....

Why bother to introduce a social worker with no social skills?

And how exactly did they visualise Darrell using his superpowers to instantaneously evaporate DVDs before his hosts very eyes?

(Note to self - telling people how you do something is not the same as doing it well....)

ppeatfruit · 08/11/2013 08:26

WRF the social worker I know quite a few of those with no social skills! Bridge Farm is organic though so a different market for their milk surely Sthing ? Where is the link to the writersroom could I get it on play it again d'you reckon?

SthingMustBeScaringThemAway · 08/11/2013 09:11

Still here!

I was thinking about the organic thing after I posted. If I were still a rural village resident and my local organic milk supplier stopped producing mil - I might well consider that localism trumped organic concerns, particularly if I knew the provenance of the milk.

Even if Bridge Farm had kept the cows Tom would have driven them out of organic production soon anyway....

TallGiraffe · 08/11/2013 09:22

On the neospora angle, foxes and badgers could also be responsible ref here and much more likely than a pet dog surely? Maybe this is a way of moving away from TB...

ppeatfruit · 08/11/2013 11:34

Thanks for the link Sthing The nitty gtitty is what type of writing they find 'exciting' isn't it? Grin

ppeatfruit · 08/11/2013 11:34

'gritty' of course!

48th · 08/11/2013 11:38

I rather liked the Robert and Lindy scenes though, dammit he is such a good 'un.

RocknRollNerd · 08/11/2013 16:10

Have finally caught up on about a month's backlog of podcasts...this is a fantastic thread (not least because of real life babies being born - congrats!).

YY to pretty much everything that has been said on here. I have one random bit of speculation to throw in which is very much rooted in TA having moved so far from it's gentle plodding along roots: is there any chance that Jess will abuse her social worker position (which every bloody character has referred to since she arrived in Ambridge) to extract terrible revenge on Helen...? I'm thinking some sort of trumped up neglect/abuse thing with the snappiness over the terrible-twos brought into it. I really, really hope they don't do this but they've made so much of her being a social worker and Helen being fragile that I wouldn't put it past the scriptwriters.

As a small aside - I liked Adam's reference to having done things he's ashamed of when Helen was fessing up about Rob...could Pavel still come back...?

SthingMustBeScaringThemAway · 08/11/2013 16:47

Hello RnRN! Nice to see you here. Have you recovered from the trauma of AmEx?Grin

Interesting thought re Jess. Although I always have the feeling that all TA jobs that are not farming are considered pretty much interchangeable. I had imagined they just have a list of professions and tick them off. Although it might tie in with ppeat's comment about a shift to "working class" woes.

GypsyFloss · 08/11/2013 22:35

I missed tonight. What's the story with Jill's dodgey eyesight? Is she being lined up to mow one of them down and if so who is in the firing line? please let it be Ruth

ppeatfruit · 09/11/2013 09:05

I know where you're coming from RnR but there's also Pat and Tony to stop Hellin's excesses; IMO it's just to show how upset she is over Rob and will pass in the normal way these things do in Archerland Grin.

ppeatfruit · 09/11/2013 09:07

Gypsy I haven't heard it either I'll listen again or wait till the omnibus Grin
