New thread for the beginning of the pheasant season.

whatshesaid Mel IS Australian. She and Kenton met in Oz and Mel moved to NZ later. I believe the Merry actress is a Kiwi.

WhatSheSaid · 30/10/2013 03:49

Whoops Blush

Songbird · 30/10/2013 08:50

arm, chainsaw, arm, chainsaw, arm, AARGH!! This made me chuckle!

curlew · 30/10/2013 10:06

Meriel has always been an entitled brat, hasn't she?

And I agree with whoever said that Kenton and Jolene are just not a credible couple.

Oh, and why on earth did Jolene say "owt" last night? Is it the SW thinking any regional accent will do......?

ppeatfruit · 30/10/2013 10:15

IMO J'lene and Kenton are very credible;he's always been the norty member of the family and she is lively and 'sexy' not to mention she part owns a pub what could be better? [htlgrin]

ppeatfruit · 30/10/2013 10:16

Sorry I meant Halloween Grin

MrsCampbellBlack · 30/10/2013 15:03

Curlew - I thought that -they really are tying to make Jolene very umm Hardyesque/common aren't they?

And Fallon sounds deranged over this wedding - god, she's total bridezilla by proxy

ppeatfruit · 30/10/2013 15:39

From a few clues when they held the clothes swop J'lene is for want of a better word 'common'! Grin nothing wrong with that IMO.

TheOnlyOliviaMumsnet · 30/10/2013 17:01

Bless, poor Fallon though
She doesn't have much else going on in her life does she?
Brenda's gorn off to the Big Smoke
Kirsty's all loved up with The Big Sausage
Hellen's depressed to a new level

So it's just her and Rhys.

ppeatfruit · 30/10/2013 17:08

Yeah 'bless' Fallon isn't she holding back her Mum's madder ideas e.g. low decolletaged? < can we say that?> wedding gown.

Panzee · 30/10/2013 18:17

Fallon is the voice of dull. She's the perfect foil to Jolene.

MrsCampbellBlack · 30/10/2013 19:07

What is going on with Ed - he's so short with oliver who has helped him so much.

Swannykazoo · 30/10/2013 19:28

I used to love Fallon. I always hoped she'd get a more interesting storyline than just being a romantic interest for someone local. (Kirsty I'm talking about you)
Now all this Bridezilla rubbish is just awful. Next step will be Stepford Ambridge wifeing and marrying Rhys who will suddenly be unable to make coffee or tea or sandwiches.

TheSilveryPussycat · 30/10/2013 19:29

Tis because of Joe's accident and claim against GG.

Meanwhile...
NOOOOO! Darryl, don't do it!

LondonMother · 30/10/2013 19:44

Meanwhile....

YEEEESSS! Do do it, Darrell - if 'it' is leave the Stables, leave Ambridge, head for Birmingham and turn your life round there in complete silence.

Now to eat my hat, as I promised to do upthread if Jill got the wedding cake to LL unscathed. I wonder if it will taste better with pesto.

nennypops · 30/10/2013 20:28

I don't enjoy the Darrell storyline, but I think it's rather well written. I keep getting intensely irritated with him and then feeling guilty because he's obviously seriously depressed, which I suspect is what it would be like in RL for anyone except Shula.

However, I'm pretty depressed at the thought that they're liable to drag this out till Christmas, with constant whinges from him about how he can't get presents for his dc. Then it'll all end in a nice Christmassy suicide, probably during the last night of Robin Hood. Not sure I can cope with all that.

MrsCampbellBlack · 30/10/2013 20:29

I know about the GG case but think with Ed its more about his immaturity and his forgetting how Oliver gave him his big chance. It annoys me intensely.

ppeatfruit · 31/10/2013 09:41

nenny I hope you not right but you probably are effingell!!

YYYYLondon "bye bye Darrell bye bye"

SthingMustBeScaringThemAway · 31/10/2013 10:24

I'm not sure they'll drag it out till Christmas.... Everyone will be busy at the wedding (as they established yesterday.) He may be the only person in the village who isn't invited.Haloween Sad

The SWs surely won't allow the celebration to unfold unsullied by tragedy or disaster. I refuse to be shocked to my cynical core.

Iwantacampervan · 31/10/2013 19:18

Jess appears and speaks (and sounds like everyone else so I have trouble working out who is who).
It can't work out well for Kenton and Jolene and/or Kirsty and Tom after that soppy ending this evening.

SthingMustBeScaringThemAway · 31/10/2013 19:23

Wow. Yes! So she's not the new Freda.

Was there something ominous in Robb making supper?Obviously it's not generally unusual... But thinking back to his bruises.

Cannot wait for her to meet Helen.

nennypops · 31/10/2013 20:38

Getting more and more concerned about Kenton going on about being settled, "You never know what's round the corner", proving his Dad wrong about nearly giving up on him, etc etc. They did say that there would be a new Mrs Archer in tomorrow's programme, so at least they're going to make it through the wedding, but I fear terrible things afterwards. If it's not a terrible accident, he's going to end up shagging the ex and Jolene will chuck him out before the marriage is consummated.

JollyGolightly · 31/10/2013 22:52

Jess said yes to a glass of wine so does not appear to be pregnant. Helen, however, is looking pale and run-down.

TheOnlyOliviaMumsnet · 01/11/2013 08:28

I am SHOCKED at Kirsty mentioning her part in Lynda's show before the "oh my new bf who I have had a crush on for 7 years or something has said I can move in!"

I hope Kenton doesn't die. I like him.

ppeatfruit · 01/11/2013 10:31

Aaah but Jess might have PCOS or something and not know if she's updffed Shock Though it's ok to have a glass of wine isn't it?
