MrsCampbellBlack · 08/08/2013 19:12

Oh look, lucky Ambridge job fairy is now doing weddings.

ppeatfruit · 09/08/2013 12:59

I'm listening to You and Yours and the actress who plays Cathy was just on saying how much they luuurrve us addicts!!!! (i've been on hols so missed the start of this fabulous lonely cow thread thanks psuedo ).

Panzee · 09/08/2013 13:07

I love this thread. I listen to the omnibus but I like reading your snippets about what's coming up :)

Gigondas · 09/08/2013 14:53

Massive eye roll at cathy and Barman plot - heavy handed tho it is nt sympathy is with the borcester land bloke.

And as for Helen skulking about Hmm

ppeatfruit · 09/08/2013 15:31

Ah Gigondas but at least it's just an everyday plot which is better than guns, gangsters, Russian speaking villains etc. etc. IMO

Gigondas · 09/08/2013 15:53

True- I haven't forced myself to catch up on Amex yet . The Russian speaking is particularly irritating as makes it hard to follow as It is distracting not atmospheric .

ppeatfruit · 09/08/2013 16:24

Yes i couldn't agree more about the russian on Ambex it's as you say infuriatingly distracting. I don't know why they couldn't use more heavily accented english which I'm sure they'd do on TA proper.

HarlotOTara · 09/08/2013 18:02

The Amex story line is total pants but am crossing fingers in the hope that Bapper stays away from Ambridge.

Please scriptwriters have some decent and believable storylines

BoreOfWhabylon · 09/08/2013 19:17

MARRIAGE-WRECKING STRUMPET!!!

The beatch should be tarred and feathered and dumped in the Poo Lagoon!

guineapiglet · 09/08/2013 19:38

Yes Bore - Helen had better watch out! But look at the wreckage of all her doomed relationships in Ambridge, she has never really chosen well < fingers crossed that the 'sperm donor' wasn't a baddun either> and has had her heart broken so many times, but tonight she was an all powerful woman taking what she wanted...

However, what about Rob having his cake and eating it? - DO we actually think Jess really exists? I have that resigned feeling that it is all going to end in tears for her (

BoreOfWhabylon · 09/08/2013 20:02

Oh yes, 'fiercely independent' Hellin, who first wanted Annette's baybee then, when A wouldn't oblige, decided to have a donor kebabby of her very own, which she would raise with absolutely no help from anyone. Oh no. Because she is fiercely independent. Then she moved back in with Mummy and Daddy, although she is fiercely independent.

And now she wants someone else's man. Because she's fiercely independent.

I do so hope it all goes tits up for her. Again. Grin

StayAwayFromTheEdge · 09/08/2013 20:15

I don't remember the bit about Annette's baby - must have been when DS3 was small. Please tell me more!

BoreOfWhabylon · 09/08/2013 20:42

Annette was daughter of Helen's suicidal ex, Greg Turner. Annette wasn't getting on with her mother en France and came to stay with Helen. She slept with Sleazy Leon, Helen's man of the moment (H never knew this) and became pregnant. Helen became quite scary and controlling, trying desperately to persuade A to keep the baby and making Big Plans. A eventually had a termination, went off to stay with her Gran and has never been heard of again.

Fiercely Independent Helen then decided to have a baybee of her very own that would love her for ever and ever and never ever leave her.

Guineapigfriend · 09/08/2013 21:12

Bleach my brain
"I want to smell your skin" Mmmm, slobber

StayAwayFromTheEdge · 09/08/2013 21:18

I remember Annette now - But not the rest of it! No idea who Leon is?
Thank you.

HomelessAngua · 09/08/2013 21:29

I has sucessfully put the Annette saga behind me until now....aaaarrrrgghhhhh.

Accentuatethepositive · 09/08/2013 21:49

Delurking to join guineapigfriend's bleurgh! Yuck! Also Helen was quite scary in that scene, I fear it could all go a bit fatal attraction.

I have been enjoying reading everyone's posts on here since the start of the last thread and bow before the incredible knowledge of some of you! I've been listening off and on for my whole life - my mum tells me she used to give me my bedtime feed to TA and now I often find myself doing DDs bath while listening.

I agree that it's weird the way certain characters disappear for ages these days. And I cannot stand the new /old Clarrie! The old one was one of the characters I really liked, I loved her interaction with Eddie and Joe especially. And now she is just utterly unbelievable and irritating.

Ah, it feels better to have got that off my chest!

Also, Jamie?! What an odd choice for Kenton... Guess this is where Cathy gets her moment to whinge about the wedding?

StayAwayFromTheEdge · 09/08/2013 21:50

Sorry Grin -

A range of Ambridge inspired Smilies would go down well Olivia.

EachAndEveryHighway · 09/08/2013 21:53

I have to say Rob sounds really shaggable well more than any other Ambridge male anyway ... I'm quite jealous of Helen for once.

Accentuatethepositive · 09/08/2013 22:01

What like 🐷 stay?!

Or maybe 🐮?

(sorry, I just learnt how to do that, couldn't resist!)

StayAwayFromTheEdge · 09/08/2013 22:26

They are perfect - I challange to a slice of Borcestshire Blue...

Accentuatethepositive · 09/08/2013 22:40

Grin alas! I think blue cheese is currently beyond me.

I have been reflecting on tonight's episode and my favourite moment was definitely Mike and Oliver's chat about the trip to Italy. I like both of them and Mike's polite response to Oliver's gushing about the opera was lovely.

Oops sorry, it wasn't that great a moment!

Goldrill · 09/08/2013 22:50

Didn't the cheese straw once throw herself at Alan too - or is that my memory being very weird? I think the rob thing is quite out of what little character she has. Her favourite hobby appears to be sanctimony and you can hardly take the moral high ground if you've pinched someone else's husband.
And I also think that Cathy is being cued up for something, but I I wondered if the irritating boss might be her new man. No more unlikely than kenton!
