Thinking about it the SWs better get a move on otherwise there'll be a longer list of sad times as the older actors pop their clogs Grin Sad

choccyp1g · 30/09/2013 10:18

The laurels Bugger me, I lay awake half the night thinking "I know it's another tree, Oak, Ash, Chestnut...etc" over and over again.

choccyp1g · 30/09/2013 10:22

I think they'll keep Jack on ice until the actor who plays Peggy is ready to retire, then they can let her go peacefully in her sleep the day after the funeral.

TheOneWithTheNicestSmile · 30/09/2013 10:59

she's 94 - if she was ever going to retire, surely she would have done it by now!

shrinkingnora · 30/09/2013 13:38

Hello, can I join you? Mostly to say that 'Sorry won't butter no parsnips' was possibly my fave line ever.

ppeatfruit · 30/09/2013 18:17

Of course Shrinking you don't need to ask us we're a very meritocratic bunch here!

Somethingyesterday · 30/09/2013 18:44

Shrinking Please note how everyone has been struck dumb by my extraordinary prescience re Grey Gables.

This is a common occurrence.....

shrinkingnora · 30/09/2013 19:03

I am working my way through the thread. Lots of excellent points made - also very much agree that radio sex is hideous. I am currently listening to the omnibus on a Monday at work (but not if the PRS licensing team ask) as my children are unable to be quiet for 15 minutes a day. Or even 15 seconds. I used to listen all the time and have missed loads so am a bit confused by some things. I suspect the same thing has happened to the scriptwriters...

There are fewer cow noises these days although the lambing sound effects were particularly fine this year.

Somethingyesterday · 30/09/2013 19:15

Grin Nice!

Pseudo! Are you still around? This should be post number 910.......

PseudoBadger · 30/09/2013 19:27

I'm here :) the size of a house and completely fed up
Suggestions welcome for new thread title?

OP posts:
shrinkingnora · 30/09/2013 19:36

'Sorry won't butter no parsnips' Grin

shrinkingnora · 30/09/2013 19:38

Must find a way to work that into everyday conversation. May start saying it to the DC...

Somethingyesterday · 30/09/2013 19:48

Something clever (or fed up-ishGrin) re Big Farma. (Think that was ErrolltheDragon?)

Will be thinking of you PseudoBrew

Gigondas · 30/09/2013 20:02

How can we not use sorry won't butter no parsnips in the title,

TheOneWithTheNicestSmile · 30/09/2013 20:46

I would quite like "wasn't she that woman you met in prison?" Grin

TheOneWithTheNicestSmile · 30/09/2013 20:47

\link{http://alisongeldarteditorial.wordpress.com/2011/08/18/fine-words-butter-no-parsnips/\fine words...}

kiriwawa · 30/09/2013 20:50

Pseudo - I would love it if you could use 'sorry won't butter no parsnips' during the course of your birth. Someone's bound to say 'sorry' at some point :o

ErrolTheDragon · 30/09/2013 20:56

How can we not use sorry won't butter no parsnips in the title

But Big Farma was nominated way upthread

kiriwawa · 30/09/2013 20:59

Big Farma won't butter no parsnips?

shrinkingnora · 30/09/2013 21:00

Big Farma is brilliant. Use it. In some clever way I am too tired to think of!

ErrolTheDragon · 30/09/2013 21:04

kiri has it I think Grin

Swannykazoo · 30/09/2013 21:12

I despair at having listened longer than the scriptwriters! Glad to see I'm not the only one wondering how Will & Ed will cope with rift between Eddy & Caroline & Oliver. -Will being Caroline's godson, Ed being Oliver's adopted magic hobby farm manager.
I agree we should hear some mention from Kirstie that Tom is more settled or whatever than when they last went out instead of all this daft mooning about.
Shula asking Alan if she should take in Darryl - what about the druggie chap Alan let move into the Vicarage who fleeced their valuables and then legged it once he realised he was in a dead end storyline....
Elizabeth being interested in showing cattle...NEVER!
(I am contemplating getting a life by the way, I just can't seem to stop this stuff squeezing out useful stuff for work and taking residence in my brain)

Somethingyesterday · 30/09/2013 21:23

puggle Grin What is this "life" you speak of???

I often imagine the newbie SW's opening their job offers along with their A level results. grim

TheOneWithTheNicestSmile · 30/09/2013 21:35

that Luke who Alan took in was mentioned by him to Shula (by way of an Awful Warning)

but probably only after the SWs had read various caustic message board comments Grin

guineapiglet · 01/10/2013 08:39

The shula/alan/daryl thing is beginning to grate..'here's an old rucksack, a few packets of biscuits and a manky sleeping bag. Now bugger off as my christian conscience has been assuaged'
Use the organ funds to build a temporary homeless shelter in the grounds of the vicarage then vicar.
