Ooh Ponders - I am beginning to like Anthea. But that's cos she is helping Lillian and I love Lillian. She is sharp and makes pointy comments that make me giggle. The sad Lillian is not good radio for me.

ppeatfruit · 25/08/2013 13:55

Grin Something A fun idea! Not many round here in mid west Fr.! but I'm in London next week or two! Though away from compooters that work!

Pancake IMO Lilian is a woman who NEEDS a man (doesn't matter much who!)

Impomea · 25/08/2013 14:22

Hi ppea I'm in the Vienne !
Was mumbling to myself that surely someone in the family could help Jenny with the garden she's no spring chick. Think they are being a bit mean .
Used to live Lil what have they done to her?

ppeatfruit · 25/08/2013 14:45

So am I Impomea!!!! we live between Tours and Poitiers It's a big department though!

I'm not a spring chicken but I do a lot of the work in our garden our artisan doesn't have the time and it's good for me Grin Admittedly there isn't a flower and fruit show here so I don't aim for perfection!!

MrsCampbellBlack · 25/08/2013 15:29

Ray is definitely a wrong-un. Honestly, was Oliver meant to have been a successful businessman?

Its going to be Linda n' Kathy to the rescue!

ppeatfruit · 25/08/2013 16:32

Yup mrsCampbell the SWs couldn't have dropped bigger hints at his sexist and lecherous attitudes! (though Martin seems worse!) he'll make a pass at one of the pretty chambermaids and he'll be out!

Is it me or are there suddenly a lot of new characters popping up all over TA?

MrsCampbellBlack · 25/08/2013 16:59

There are!

Mind you if it means less of Ruth and laundry tablets 'they were on offfffeeerrrr pip' - honestly, she is so annoying.

OliviaMMumsnet · 25/08/2013 17:08

lol at laundry tablets

Impomea · 25/08/2013 17:18

Ppea we're 30 mins south of Poitiers. No gardening today -not stopped raining !

Pip gets on my nerves so I stopped listening for a while ,but it looks like it could get interesting at GG.

ppeatfruit · 25/08/2013 17:40

I LIKE Ruth MrsCampbell I was surprised because she's not usually very domesticated is she?

Impomea On the road to Limoges or Angouleme (sp.)`?? We're in between Chatellerault and Lencloitre. We've got rain too we need it though don't we?

I belong to a group in Poitiers called L'etrangers don't tell me you do as well i'll drop down!!

Ponders · 25/08/2013 19:15

ppeat, I have a friend with a house in a village nr Châtellerault

is that near you?

Ponders · 25/08/2013 19:17

Dangé is the nearest town I think

Ponders · 25/08/2013 19:18

oh, just seen your Lencloitre - you're W, they're N

not far though!

ppeatfruit · 25/08/2013 22:25

Dange` isn't far from us though Ponders it's a small world ain't it? Grin I think it's on the non motorway way to Tours. I'm off to bed now the extra hour always gets to me at this time of the night!

Ponders · 26/08/2013 21:24

it is Smile

I love small-world-ness!

Impomea · 26/08/2013 21:39

Angouleme direction ppea -about 60 km from you.Not heard of l'etrangers.

I didn't catch TA today did I miss much?

TreeMonkey · 27/08/2013 00:30

Long time listener, first time poster here.

Thoughts on Darrell. I notice that some one up thread mentioned that he would be good for Jenny Darling's garden especially after the work he did redecorating Home Farm. Why didn't they ask him for his help there, if not to tide him over for a bit?

Somethingyesterday · 27/08/2013 01:51

Re Darrell -I guess the main answer is that then TA wouldn't be able to make a point about how a "hard working" man gets in with bad company, loses his family and home and ends up sleeping on a park bench....

To be fair I wouldn't necessarily think that the person who painted my house should also be trusted with secateurs and a seed catalogue.

And what would the Aldiridges know about struggling to make ends meet?

At least we now know what the Shula-sledgehammer was for.

ppeatfruit · 27/08/2013 06:21

I'm off to your side of the pond (London) now and so'll be away from working compooters (but not away from a radio of course!) and not running up huge bills using my mob. to post on here so speak to you in a couple of weeks Grin.
(It'd be fun to have an Archers Listeners Group here perhaps we could meet in Poitiers sometime)

PseudoBadger · 27/08/2013 07:45

We do have working computers in London :o

OP posts:
GrendelsMum · 27/08/2013 15:07

There's something so permanently wet about Darrell. Even when he's driving an elderly couple to their deaths, or conniving at dog fights, he's wet about it.

OldBeanbagz · 27/08/2013 15:17

Back from holidays and Shock to hear that Linda was won over by the creepy Ray. How unlikely is that?

Off to catch up with AmEx now...

Somethingyesterday · 27/08/2013 19:17

OMG - Give me my prize now. Word for word as I predicted - and they couldn't even string it out till Christmas.

Horrid Helen!

CuttedUpPear · 28/08/2013 10:04

Cake for Somethingyesterday

JollyGolightly · 28/08/2013 14:02

Do you think there's the slightest chance that Pat and Tony will kick Helen out when her hideous deceit is revealed? I'd think not because of Henry, but it would serve her right.

Also, I don't want to hear Rob say "oh Helen" again. I've heard it twice now and that's quite enough.
