New thread!

OP posts:
Gigondas · 28/08/2013 15:39

Sadly no jolly- it will be the cause of endless angsty rows and passive aggressive muttering just like the disagreement with Tom on farm.

I don't think tho they can spin out someone not knowing for very long.

Also how bloody heavy handed was the darell/Shula thing ( tho do agree darell is wet).

Now it can all unravel at grey gables.

LondonMother · 28/08/2013 20:36

Even Helen thinks this storyline is ridiculous!

StayAwayFromTheEdge · 28/08/2013 21:02

Does anyone else think that Kirsty is trying to set Tom up? She seems to be far too enthusiastic when a true friend would surely be advising caution.

Somethingyesterday · 28/08/2013 21:04

How many "jewellery lessons" is she supposed to have had? And why would anyone expect to see any thing she might have made after a mere couple of weeks? And surely if Pat was so unbelievably stupid, she could never have run a farm for several decades?

I wish I could dismiss this as one of their "comedy" storylines, but it clearly isn't.

JessieMcJessie · 29/08/2013 07:53

somethingyesterday that's uncanny. I thought of you as the necklace deceit weaved its tangled web.

But talk about over-egging it with Pat's compliments on the design - "citron?" Who the blazes uses "citron" to describe a colour? Perhaps at a very big push fashionista types who also talk about "a trouser" but not a farmer...

CuttedUpPear · 29/08/2013 07:56

What was the Darryl/Shula thing? I missed last week.

Gigondas · 29/08/2013 08:38

Shula bumped into daryl when she was helping do lunch at shelter. found out he has been sleeping rough in park so she helped him find a bed for the night.

Panzee · 29/08/2013 09:14

Didn't the same thing happen with Emma at the food bank? Charitable lot in Ambridge.

GrimmaTheNome · 29/08/2013 09:19

And why would anyone expect to see any thing she might have made after a mere couple of weeks?

ah well, this 'piece' was described as just stringing beads, not silvercraft or enamel or suchlike. I did enjoy the moment when Pat asked if Helen could make her one and there was an abrupt 'No!'. She is so riding for a fall.... affairs with married men are one thing but Lying to One's Mother is the ultimate crime (as I'm sure anyone on MN will agree Grin)

Somethingyesterday · 29/08/2013 09:29

JMcJ I wish I could be pleased. But all it means is that the storyliners are making no effort whatsoever.

StayAway It's a possibility. But a remote one. Firstly they are rubbish at intrigue at the moment - look what a damp squib the Paul thing turned into. We were writing far better stories here. Secondly they are using all their wits on an apparently twisty story on AMEX. Thirdly, Kirsty's voice throbs with.... something every time she speaks to the fool.

And who is Damien? I thought he was a flatmate. But she dropped him into the conversation again yesterday - Is he supposed to be a BF?

So is Shula done with charity work now? Or will it develop into a proper story where we actually see Darrell move forward?

Brillig · 29/08/2013 15:40

Surely Pat will spot a necklace exactly like Hellin's in a shop window in Felpersham one day, and the penny will finally drop, or at least H's obvious shiftiness will start to be questioned...

MrsCampbellBlack · 29/08/2013 15:46

Another couple of weeks of this and Henry won't be able to pick Helen out in a line up.

TheSilverySoothsayer · 29/08/2013 22:19

Do you think the Real Jewellery Maker shops in Ambridge Organics - maybe just when Pat is delivering yoghurt and veg?

nennypops · 29/08/2013 22:30

Surely they're setting Martin up for a horrible but gratifying fall? He's so objectionable to everyone. Not sure if it's going to be embezzlement, sexual harassment, or a body under hole 9.

TheSilverySoothsayer · 29/08/2013 22:56

Maybe I should be on the board of Borsetshire Land? I understand the logistics of start-up, even if I can't tell one end of a cow from another.

(which I can, btw)

Panzee · 30/08/2013 03:41

Just listened to last week's omnibus. How have thy made me feel sorry for Kathy? My world has turned upside down.

Gigondas · 30/08/2013 06:07

I know , it's amazing how they have managed it panzee.

MrsCampbellBlack · 30/08/2013 12:56

I reckon Brian is going to sort Martin out and therefore save Kathy.

Gigondas · 30/08/2013 13:54

So do I - tedious point scoring fucker. Brian doing good job of dealing with him tho.

Gigondas · 30/08/2013 14:12

I should feel more sorry for darell buti don't as he is wet and zzzzzz at comedy produce show reference with usha and Alan. No usha for ages then you get this Hmm.

GrimmaTheNome · 30/08/2013 14:17

I've been missing TA recently somehow - just caught the end. Whoops alan.

TheSilverySoothsayer · 30/08/2013 14:42

Maybe Martin is setting Kathy up as a scapegoat for his dodgy ways at the golf club? Brian'll fettle him, though after Kathy has lost her job and gone to GG?

Gigondas · 30/08/2013 15:55

Could be tho I got impression Martin was more a tedious arse as opposed to devious. Surely if he was going to bin Kathy he would have done it - instead can carry on berating her and nicking drinks.

MrsCampbellBlack · 30/08/2013 15:56

Martin will come unstuck as he's recruiting for green staff but cutting back in the bar etc, which I presume is where they really make the money.

HomelessAngua · 30/08/2013 16:35

Clubs may money on annual subs and green fees, bars are not really than busy apart fron events, weddings, golf societies, weddings etc.
