I am not enjoying The Archers right now!

I feel like everything is tense and artificial and building up to something terrible happening. What is going to happen? I don't listen to The Archers for the drama, I listen to it for the feelgopod factor, although I know there are always frictions and crises to cope with, but notheing too shocking.......... well there was the time when Ed was a crack head Xmas Hmm but that all got sorted out in the end and it was ptrobably for the best that he ran away to the big city and lost his way for a while etc etc....

I hope Helen's baby doesn't die. I don't actually care about Helen, but it would be just too awful.

Lunatic - so sorry for your loss and totally agree that perhaps best not to listen for the next week Sad

I reckon that Julia dipped the pin of her brooch in arsenic, knowing that Nigel would give it to Lizzy after her death. Nigel is a notorious halfwit and will accidentally stab Lizzy as he pins it on her, causing her to fall asleep for 100 years die horribly.

Northernlebkuchen · 29/12/2010 21:00

I'm not convinced Pip isn't pregnant. She split up from the apalling Jude about 6 months ago - so could give birth any day now. That would be a bit of a shocker certainly.

VW said there are two storylines - one a shock and one which has been built up - Helen and the baby, Ed and Will -rivalry an d violence, Jamie Perks going off the rails all fall in the latter category. Some sort of accident etc would be in the first.

AnyoneforTurps · 29/12/2010 21:03

Let's not forget Annette - did she really have a termination or is she still carrying Leon's baby and about to turn up, go into labour and gasp out the truth as the baby crowns?

Ponders · 29/12/2010 21:20

I've been wondering about Jamie too - that storyline has been very quiet lately. (But then that happens all the time in TA, doesn't it? Big deal for weeks & then nothing...)

Doubt the Pip idea though, if she was 8 months pg now I think even the awful Ruth & David would have noticed something!

Northernlebkuchen · 29/12/2010 22:00

Annette would have delivered by now. Teenage girls do manage to conceal pregnancies - even from themselves. I know it seems unbelievable but it is well reported

Unbelievably, I am enjoying the Panto this year. It is such a relief from the suspense.

Had to double-check my spelling there after having watched QI telling us that they no longer teach 'i before e, except after c' because the rule is more often breached than true.Confused

Ponders · 29/12/2010 23:35

are you really, R4????

Gosh

R4 · 29/12/2010 23:54

Yup. Tells you how bad the SATTC fever is!Grin

Northernlebkuchen · 29/12/2010 23:55

I quite like the panto too. HAve read something today suggesting VW is going for a gun massacre - after all it happened in rural Cumbria. That can't be true can it?

Ponders · 30/12/2010 00:02

well I would devoutly hope not but if so, it has to be Will Grundy Sad

Northernlebkuchen · 30/12/2010 00:14

Yup - fits with the long developing storyline - he's been feeling hard done by for years!

I don't think it will be a grundy story - think the big thing will be Archers family related - if its not Lizzie/Nigel I'll eat my hat.

Northernlebkuchen · 30/12/2010 14:47

If it's Lizzie/Nigel then I think it will be Nigel getting bumped off. Surely they wouldn't make Jill face the death of her baby? Nigel's death would be very interesting as I bet they haven't got all the death duties planning done - could leave Lizzie in dire straits.

No! I like Nigel. He was so lovely when Lizzie was dumped by that odious Simon (was it simon?)

Northernlebkuchen · 30/12/2010 14:56

Everybody likes Nigel - that's why it would shake Ambridge.

There are two things going on remember - one thing we know about already - Will's jealousy or the blessed AI baby are my bets for that - and something we don't know about - a death seems likely. As has been said on another thread- David's death would leave a massive hole. Ruth's - not so much as she annoys most of the audience - would be v interesting though. Generally it's the women who are widowed on TA - Mike being one excpetion.

Northernlebkuchen · 30/12/2010 14:57

Grimma - I think you've got Simon Pemberton (two timed Debbie and Shula and hit one of them - Shula?) mixed up with Cameron Fraser (two timed Caroline and Lizzie and got Lizzie up the duff) Tis an easy mistake - both total cads.

GrimmaTheNome · 30/12/2010 15:01

Oh yes, that's right.

When they've finished SATIC, they really need a proper new cad, don't they?

traceybath · 30/12/2010 15:01

I think the Emma storyline has been pretty much confirmed although not sure what exactly will happen but it does involve her.

Hence I think pip will crash into her on the way back from the pub on nye - then helen can blame everyone for what happens as she didn't even want to go out.

I think it'll be Lizzie that dies and Nigel will be left to bring up the children and will pack them off to boarding school and Jill will self-combust.

GrimmaTheNome · 30/12/2010 15:05

If poor old Emmur gets it, that will lead to interesting battle over George by Will and Ed. Presumably Ed has few legal rights and will go off the rails again.

traceybath · 30/12/2010 15:07

God I meant Helen not emmur.

Northernlebkuchen · 30/12/2010 15:16

Tracey - I was just thinking 'Emma? EMMA?' Grin

traceybath · 30/12/2010 15:25

I am so stressed over this Wink

Honestly though it is ruining my enjoyment - I just want next sunday out of the way now.
