I feel like everything is tense and artificial and building up to something terrible happening. What is going to happen? I don't listen to The Archers for the drama, I listen to it for the feelgopod factor, although I know there are always frictions and crises to cope with, but notheing too shocking.......... well there was the time when Ed was a crack head Xmas Hmm but that all got sorted out in the end and it was ptrobably for the best that he ran away to the big city and lost his way for a while etc etc....

I hope Helen's baby doesn't die. I don't actually care about Helen, but it would be just too awful.

CD am too sad for flaming...!

toeragsnotriches · 02/01/2011 20:13

Brooch sorry.

CaptainNemo · 02/01/2011 20:13

(But am glad not to have to listen to Ruth (and Pip) whining on and on for weeks/months if it had been Deeavid who fell rather than the lovely Nigel....)

carocaro · 02/01/2011 20:15

I'd be very sad if Nigel was a total gonner, all men could learn from his romance side, the harpist for her birthday, the butler service dinner, the brooch etc.

Bet Nigel would never give Lizzie a Slanket for Christmas, unlike some MN DH's have (not mine slank God!)

GrimmaTheNome · 02/01/2011 20:15

I'd sort of be sorrier if it was David because he is now the solid farmer at the centre of the whole thing, but Nigel is/was such a sweetie.

Northernlebkuchen · 02/01/2011 20:23

picture on website - not as far to fall as i feared.....

animula · 02/01/2011 20:25

Ooh. I have "The Archers Cookbook" - and that looks a lot grander than the pic in my book.

changeforthebetter · 02/01/2011 20:28

Aww poor Nige Sad

My list would have been

Kate
Kate
Kate
Kate
Kate
Kate

and maybe Soosan

I suppose the SATTC is all the implications for LL, the kids, Lizzee with the dodgy ticker etc

Where's the other thread (having happily participated in this upstart one Wink)

goldenbirdies · 02/01/2011 20:28

Thanks for the link Northernlebkuchen - if he fell from the roof and bounced down the steps then def a goner. Any chance 'Titcombe' will have left a big pile of leaves to land on?

goldenbirdies · 02/01/2011 20:30

A big pile of leaves.

toeragsnotriches · 02/01/2011 20:31

Grin caro

goldenbirdies · 02/01/2011 20:37

Oh. Looks further than in the drawing. Hey, maybe nigel held onto the banner and swung (swang? swinged?) over to a window ledge and was saved and it'll all be ok!

GrimmaTheNome · 02/01/2011 20:37

Lots of bushes at the bottom though (hopeful)

Could he be saved by topiary?

LunarSeasonsGreetings · 02/01/2011 20:38

orthernlebkuchen - Can't be right - if you put a banner on the roof of that you'd never see it from the ground!

Right the RT spoilers for next week are:

Pat and Tony are left with a dilemma

Brian is forced to change his plans (to attend the Oxford farming conference I've seen elsewhere)

Aland tries to help and Ian makes a new friend

Tony reflects on the new situation and Joe faces opposition to his money making scheme

Jill tries to keep things going

Nigel is in the cast list for next week but that includes today of course so he would be. THe oxford conference is 04-06/01 so that's surely too soon for the funeral? There seem to be hints that maybe he isn't dead - or am I clutching at banners straws?

goldenbirdies · 02/01/2011 20:58

Plus the 'guilty secret' at brookfield. Maybe David's guilty secret that he persuaded nige to go on the roof.

Ponders · 02/01/2011 21:00

hmmm - the Guardian spoilers don't exactly match your RT ones, Northern

I'll dig 'em out in a sec

Ponders · 02/01/2011 21:04

ah, ok, the only actual diff is Fri:

Jill tries to keep things going "but at Brookfield there is a guilty secret"

(funny, I could have sworn there was more than that Grin)

toeragsnotriches · 02/01/2011 21:24

golden yes and someone'll overhear him telling the cows at milking.

CaptainNemo · 02/01/2011 21:26

Right then. See you all back here at 6.55 tomorrow with a LARGE brandy?

Ponders · 02/01/2011 21:35

LARGE something anyway....

toeragsnotriches · 02/01/2011 21:52

DH working tomorrow evening. Will have to exhaust DCs tomorrow so they're begging for bed at 6.30.

edam · 02/01/2011 22:13

awwwww Nigel's so lovely, why couldn't they pick on someone irritating like Ruth? Have only heard the clip of the last 30 seconds on the website and it sounded so hammy - 'Nigel, hang on!' 'Aarrggh'. Like some parody of bad soap writing.
