A new thread is my Christmas gift!

I always use a different word. The bot uses the same word every time (SLATE) so I studiously avoid using that word, ever. Then I feel miffed when the bot beats me.

I use “adieu” as a starting word. Long ago I used to alternate it with “train”, then train was the solution on an adieu day and I was gutted.

My starter word came up a couple of months back so now I alternate a couple of others that we haven't had yet. I am worried that the same thing will happen as @Chemenger

I read once that it’s consonants you want to eliminate rather than vowels, early on. I use steal and have done since the beginning.

Streak is 1194 so it’s served me well.

I have around 5 different words I use as a starter.
I change it according to whatever was the word the day before.
So if yesterday's solution began with Z, I will purposely avoid the word beginning with that letter.
And yes, that has happened before @Chemenger - the wordle roulette of using different starters 😄
Interesting @WingBingo I've always gone for words with 3 vowels.
Lingo is a good inspiration for 5 letter words!
