Well our somerfield there was - no bread, no meat only very expensive frozen bits, poor veg...really really bad. Everyone has been stockpiling as nearest other shop is half hour walk for most people around here, we are now having cheese and ham toasties for dinner. DH will be over the moon!

nicolamumof3 · 07/01/2010 15:51

oh no maxy

we have sausages tonight and lamb tomorrow and then stuff in freezer for meals its just veg and bread i need

maxybrown · 07/01/2010 16:14

the cupboards really are bear here. No Money (actual money lol) really til our lovely van goes at weekeend! So it will be if its til then

nicolamumof3 · 07/01/2010 16:25

know the feeling maxy terry doesn't get paid if he doesn't work and no work tomorrow or saturday because of weather.

janx · 07/01/2010 16:45

Hi
Can't believe people are panic buying...shops are ok in London. Am all in a tis as we are going to have to rethink our childcare arrangments - its so complicated and doing my head in. Dp picks up Luka at the moment, but has been offered some work in Portsmouth one day a week and basically is saying he wants to get someone to pick up Luka on the days I work - we already pay someone to pick frida up two days a week but nursery is not near the school - I drop off Frida in the morning so don't get into work until after 10.

nicolamumof3 · 07/01/2010 16:51

oh its so tricky isnt it. would a childminder be more flexible?

maxybrown · 07/01/2010 17:00

Yes people been madly panic buying like you wouldn't believe. Normally our somerfield is dead as a door knocker. The other day all tills were open (normally they open one till as and when) and the queues were all the way to the end of the shop just stupid. They ran out of so many things, worse than Christmas!

Oh bum Nicola. I know if DH hadn't gone in today he wouldn't get paid. The weather really can have a lot of knock on events for us all eh?

Jan is it a childminder that collects Frida? If so would they not collect Luka too? Even though not right by school?

Divatheshopaholic · 07/01/2010 17:17

After wondering what happened to my tesco delivery i checked my email and its tomorrow
Hope it gets delivered tomorrow.
Havent been out all day. Tidied all paperworks etc.. instead.

nicolamumof3 · 07/01/2010 17:34

janx just wondered if you were interested in those ladies tops? as going to p.o tomorrow morning

janx · 07/01/2010 17:56

We share a childminder with another family - she collect frida and another little girl - one day they come to our and the other day they go to the friends house. She couldn't collect Luka as the nursery is in the opposite direction I really like Luka's nursery - but it is a bus ride away and a infrequent bus too. I think we are going to need a separate person to collect Luka and bring him home - blimey what a muddle.

Nicola - are the tops fairly long?

nicolamumof3 · 07/01/2010 18:06

no they aren't long especially im afraid

nicolamumof3 · 08/01/2010 07:42

cooeeeeee! anybody there?!

maxybrown · 08/01/2010 08:20

Morning!

Well, I've just been on Boden and it is the summer lot now - nice star hoodies in boys section now too! But, I see their sale stuff has gone back up - so that was good ordering

Fed up of being in now!! Snow not budging from our roads at all. Wish we had a sledge!!

sal1309 · 08/01/2010 09:38

morning all

well still lots of snow here and it hit -18 yesterday so cold aswell lol

at least dd can still go to preschool which is nice so have had mornings of sleep this week. Im enjoying it as next week going to start gutting the house again lol

hope everyone is ok

Divatheshopaholic · 08/01/2010 09:59

morning, yes still have serious snow up our road. took dd school this morning, people driving like maniacs around
i resisted and did not buy more boden. looking forward new codes now. if anyone found code please let me know

carrielou2007 · 08/01/2010 10:20

Morning all.

Soooo cold here today, still got about a foot of snow but now frozen solid.

I've got to go out today as it is my nephew's 10th birthday. There's hardly any snow anymore (main road) where my sister lives and don't think she believes me when I say what it's like here and has made it very clear we are expected. Nothing whatsoever to do with being heavily pregnant I just don't want to go out in it!!!

Dd has been so upset about only being able to go to playgroup for one day!!

nicolamumof3 · 08/01/2010 15:10

had a fun day today in snow with our friends was fab. after yday depressing day indoors.

we must be v.fortunate as council has gritted all roads and PATHS! im amazed so its not too bad to get about. We did our normal sainsbo's shop this morning whilst luka at nursery everything on shelves it was v.busy tho.

Tate at nursery now but toms school closed. This is supposed to last another week so i think councils need to get there bums in gear and clear roads as schools can't close for a whole week because of a little bit of snow!!

maxybrown · 08/01/2010 15:23

My DH's school is open! All our local ones shut all week though.

Our roads round here are not great. Has been a long week this week, not even seen my Mum and toddler group was cancelled and my work was, going stir crazy!!

My Boden stuff did come though so that's a bonus - the appliq stripey tops are nice. Much nicer than the pics oh - and my next order came. Glad I went for 18/24 as plenty big enough I reckon!! As usual though some things bigger than others. Bit peed though as one pair of shorts has a hole in and has obviously been stitched in wrong place then unpicked and stitching coming away anyhow. Can you exchange with Next or just return does anyone know? Not paying another delivery because of cruddily made shorts! grrr.

nicolamumof3 · 08/01/2010 15:29

if you ring them maxy they will send you another pair without postage then collect the duff ones. What did you order from next maxy for ds?

oh and my butchers stripe is here. just waiting for dh to get home then i can sweep/mop hallway and get it out. woohoooo!!

maxybrown · 08/01/2010 15:48

Ah thanks Nicola, only ever returned and kept!! Ooh all sorts the meerkat top obviously (got that in 2/3 though) and hungry croc T (in 2/3) then er....oh!! This is my fave....they are strip hoodies - in pale green stripe and grey stripe - lightweight tops though - like the Baby Boden ones. The greeen is really lovely. I love my brights but I like pastels too. I got it in both colors and grey is ok but green is gorgeous. THAT is one of the very generous things. Oh and I got the Boden style baggies - they are very nice. Impressed with those. Nicer than the winter ones they did. Wish they had more colours.

maxybrown · 08/01/2010 15:49

Oh and meant to say sorry, JoJo trousers came thank you! And looking forward to hearing about Butchers!

nicolamumof3 · 08/01/2010 16:03

oh yes i have that pale green hoody on my wish list for boys thats nice. i would have got baggies but i have green boden ones already.

yes must get on with floors. currently searching for merrell boots to keep my feet dry/warm im sick of fffrreeezing wellies are so cold!!

maxybrown · 08/01/2010 16:13

wellies are aren't they? My feet hurt lots!! Wonder if wellie liners would help? Let me know what you find!! DS's feet are always very cosy when his come off.

buggyjo · 08/01/2010 16:27
