Indeed

At least there is the Katie Price show I do love to criticise her!

sal1309 · 24/09/2009 21:57

its strange what you remember from being a kid all i remember is going to horse shows ect and camping holidays. mum and dad never had loads of money as such, but i couldnt remember the last toy they bought me lol.

We are quite lucky here its not too bad where we live and have got some really nice friends so quite lucky.

Scatty if you ever need to chat you can always shout i know its not always nice being in our situation when hubbys away ect.

reallywoundup love that dolls pushchair its great

Balamorybaby · 24/09/2009 22:11

Nicola cheap nipper here may be worth investigating further if you're still after a double.

nicolamumof3 · 24/09/2009 22:21

evening ladies, scatty i do love a bit of Katie Price show myself actually!!

I haven't loads of friends but the ones i do are lovely and really close, but i am often on my own evenings as DH working, and weekends so i spose i internet shop to cheer me up. Buying things for boys is always for me really. they couldn't care less what theyre wearing/sleeping in/sitting in. Tom is v.aware of clothes now he has asked on occasion 'is this new' so when they get older as you've said dunoon its not so easy.

thats nice nicola that you have close friends. I only have 1 close friend here then the few others i have are lovely. I miss my best mate from up north though.

well as there is nowt on tv think im going to go to bed lol hope you all have a nice night

nicolamumof3 · 24/09/2009 22:30

i've only really got one friend with children tho. and none of my friends get the pram thing either. i prob coe across as a ibt stand offish at school/nursery but i just hate striking up convo's!

OP posts:
sal1309 · 24/09/2009 22:52

my close friend gets the pram thing she thinks its great and one of the girls that goes to tots is as bad as us lot.

I hate meeting new people as im quite shy and find it hard like yourself to stike up conversations. Thats why i hate it when we have to move or your friends get moved as you have to start all over again.

Right am deffo off to bed now lol see you all in the morning

maxybrown · 25/09/2009 08:11

Morning!
Catching up from last night - Nicola that could be me! I agree completely what you said about clothes thing - it is for me! I'm not shy at all, but I hate forced conversation and falseness, hence why I can't be bothered with it! A spade's a spade with me I'm afraid. Sk I would find it very difficult being alone like that so completely understand about the buying thing.

My DH is around evenings, but most nights he is home for just after 4ish and works until 7.30 ish 8pm so we always eat late. It is hard having him in the house but not doing anything at home (I mean apart from his work!)

Got Mum coming over today and loads of washing to do - joy! Hope everyone has a nice day

nicolamumof3 · 25/09/2009 08:33

oh have a lovely day maxy its sunny here but cold first thing, i got lots of washing as always.

really missing my mum she's away on holiday can't wait to see her last week esp. as never really saw her for my bday.

Morning all.

Lovely and sunny again here though a bit chilly hanging the washing out first thing.

I've been suprised at how difficult it has been to strike up conversations with other mums. I am a huge chatterbox and have hated how competitive other mums are when out and about. You'd think we're all in the same boat but I often feel as if mums are looking down their noses at me.

I'm struggling with no laptop and work dongle so slow in the evenings being on my own, it's my 'thing' for the evenings. Will just have to buy a new one I suppose .

maxybrown · 25/09/2009 09:48

Thank you! Oh goody Nicola!!!

carrielou - I know exactly where you are coming from!!

Right have to dash!

FlyMeToDunoon · 25/09/2009 09:51

My close friends are either in Edinburgh or London.
I have two mums here that I chat to. Otherwise it's a lot of people that I say hello to. Which is nice in it's own way of course.
I have to admit I dread getting into some frienships and feeling obliged to keep up a relationship. Did anyone hear them talking about 'aquaintainces' on the radio yesterday? Apparently most people have just one or two close friends but many aquaintances[sp]. They were also saying that the internet provides a kind of friendship.
So it does!
One of my close friends was very scathing about the amount of time I spend on the net and says it is just a substitute for RL. Thats ok for her she has her family and friends all around her.
Agree about the spending as a 'happy maker'.
I love the excitement of knowing there is a package on it's way to me.
Have a good day my dears.

pebbles79 · 25/09/2009 12:41

Mac experts, is £145 for a used but excellent condition black on black 09 XT a good price?

scattykatty · 25/09/2009 12:44

Hey everyone, thanks for that

It's just really hard here because everyone is on a course for 6 months so it's really hard to make friends before they all go again, but my DH is on an 18 month course so I keep being left here when everyone moves on

I got one of those slips today from the posty, I owe them some money cos someone didn't put a stamp on a letter so I have to pay to get it! I bet it's something rubbish anyway!

nicolamumof3 · 25/09/2009 13:36

pebbles you can get new xt's for £165 usually if you look around on offer so i'd say no, i'd sooner pay the £20 get new, and lifetime warranty etc.

i feel absolutely terrible waiting for call back from doctor. feel really down as got no energy and just v.tearful. luckily luka fell asleep on way back from nursery so i can have a little sit down.

OP posts:
maxybrown · 25/09/2009 13:38

Oh Nicola take it easy

Pebbles - Toys R Us are selling them for £165

nicolamumof3 · 25/09/2009 13:41

i could cry, docs rang back, not happy that i dared to ask for an appointment i don't think!! anyway only apt. today is 6pm, i have to pick tom up from dancing then. i have to wait til monday then. thats all w/end on my own in agony. im so depressed.

OP posts:
pebbles79 · 25/09/2009 13:52

OK, thanks - will see how much money I can make when I'm up to packing stuff lol!

Just got a call from the GP and have 2 'bugs' growing in my wound and need stronger antibiotics . That explains why I'm still sore and feeling rubbish and at least I'm not imagining the swelling getting worse rather than better. Can't believe how well I was doing that first week and now this has set me right back .

scattykatty · 25/09/2009 14:07

Oh Pebbles that sounds horrible!

Off to Lincolnshire tomorrow to collect ride on for DS, DH not happy!

maxybrown · 25/09/2009 14:45

Nicola just go. Isn't there anyone who can collect Tom??

scattykatty · 25/09/2009 14:51

Yeah can you ask Tom's Dad to pick him up? You'll have a horrible weekend otherwise The Doc will sort you out if you go tonight and you'll feel so much better

maxybrown · 25/09/2009 15:06

I think he is away isn't he? Oh Nicola, what about Tom missing it? I know you won't want that, but you'll never last the weekend with the three of them if you feel so shitty. This is a completely different thinking of yourself moment now. If you aren't well then you can't look after them properly anyway.

nicolamumof3 · 25/09/2009 17:10

i just got up half an hour ago, went to bed as DH home for a couple of hours on his break. Toms dads away, i've already asked a friend to collect him from football and he already had to miss Tae Kwon do this week. Its because DH works evenings i don't drive. i will survive! more painkillers.
