Oh and Maxy since I've been back down in Hell (Wiltshire) I've thought of a million things I should have got in Cheadle

scattykatty · 13/09/2009 19:38

nicolamumof3 · 13/09/2009 19:39

luka will be out of those star cords soon, they are a nice length atm you can just see the 'all star's' badge on the bag of his cons!

I like the chocolate orange bag Nicola.
Well I am pooped although I have to say that DD1, her friend and DP dealt with most of the party games.
I put the food out and supplied juice and wine.
DD3's bday is in two weeks but she will be happy with a few presents, us singing happy birthday and a cake with candles to blow out.

scattykatty · 13/09/2009 19:45

Good Good Nicola, keep feeding him lots of growth inducing food How much do you think you'll want for them BTW?

nicolamumof3 · 13/09/2009 19:45

yep i don't really think they are aware of parties til at least the fourth or fifth bday. think toms first party was his fifth bday. its more for the adults before that.

wow! A Big lad. My Ds in bottom 9% sometimes less Goody, can I have the Boden stuff after you please? My DS is mega skinny

I have scale at home Nic, that's how I know now! I don't think he'll ever be out of size 4 nappies

maxybrown · 13/09/2009 19:46

you can shop at JL on line sk.....

scattykatty · 13/09/2009 19:48

But the stuff I want isn't online

I have scales for babies too, it can be a bit addicting

5inthebed · 13/09/2009 19:59

All 3 of my DS's are big for their age.
DS1 was 6 in May, wear clothes for 8 year olds and has size 13/1 feet
DS2 turned 4 last month, has been in 4 year old clothes since December last year. Because he is at hospital a lot, we know he is on 90th centile for height and weight, although he is mega skinny so not sue where the weight is
DS3 is 9 months and already in 12-18 clothes.

nicolamumof3 · 13/09/2009 19:59

luka is busting out of his size 5's i like having a large lad tho after two skinny minnies!

Right, I've been thinking about this for hours so I'll just ask everyones opinions. Yesterday just in conversation my friend told me she thought I bought the DS really babish toys in an effort to keep him as my little baby! I was really hurt so I've been going through his room all day taking down anything I thought was too babyish, even his teddy shaped rug

He is only just 20 months but I can't help feeling really sad now thinking I'm holding him back. I made this Amazon list a while ago and have been updating it with his favourite toys so I want you to all be brutally honest and tell me what I should get rid of

the list

5inthebed · 13/09/2009 20:03

Found some lovely hoodies and a M&S coat aged 3-4 that I might put on the sale boards. Just need to wash them. For some reason, they have been in the boot of DH's car. Oh, and HMG's bibs were in there as well . Will be posting them myself!

scattykatty · 13/09/2009 20:05

5in my DS is really tall too so not chunky at all, I sometimes feel almost too thin like his Dad! He was born 9.7 so has always been bigger than the norm.

nicolamumof3 · 13/09/2009 20:09

nothing babyish there SK? i wouldn't worry what an odd comment to make? quite rude actually i think i'd have to tell her to pee off tbh!

She said the rocking horse was for a girl, the plastic one for the garden was too young and that it shouldn't have a trike like that anymore, he should be on a balance bike. TBH I nearly cried when she said it, I was looking at this cuddly toy for him and it all just came out how I always get him toys for babies

maxybrown · 13/09/2009 20:12

Well I don't mind getting stuff for you from JL, just let me know SK

Your friend thinks that list is for babies???? That's a BIGGGGGGGGG list!!!

Dunoon, your birthday celebs sound like our house, tis a very happy one anyway!!

nicolamumof3 · 13/09/2009 20:13

im listing tomorrow a pack of 4 next t-shirts in 18-24 nice colours duck egg bluey/green, pale blue, cream, and a pinky red with little skull applique in corner and Next yellow sesame st. top with ernie on v.cute! all from Next SS 2009 range.

OP posts:
nicolamumof3 · 13/09/2009 20:14

how old are her kids then?

Tate and luka still use their m&p rocking horse that i got for tates first bday, they both still go on trikes, and they both (tate esp) love cuddly toys.

OP posts:
scattykatty · 13/09/2009 20:15

He is my first and she has 2 so maybe she is a bit more keen for her DD to grow up than I am for DS but I really don't want to trap him as a newborn but I don't think he's ready for a full size trampoline like she got her DD who's exactly the same age! I'm just hurt that she thinks I'm some clingy loser who wishes I could still have DS in a babygorw clunching a comfort blankie

maxybrown · 13/09/2009 20:16

I think I live in a different world

FlyMeToDunoon · 13/09/2009 20:21

scatty the only one that strikes me as abit young is the tiny love activity ball. Otherwise there is nothing 'babyish' in the toys he has. DD3 is too small for her sisters balance bike and she is nearly three.
Children can get a lot from any toy they like.

nicolamumof3 · 13/09/2009 20:27

oh luka doesn't go anywhere without his 'cuddly'/'huggie' (jojo comforter to you and me!) he is still my baby, i call him 'baby' and bubba he is my youngest and therefore always my baby!

OP posts:
scattykatty · 13/09/2009 20:30

I just told my DH what she said and he was quite offended too! I do agree about the ball FMTD, maybe the Thomas trin is a bit babyish for him now? I just think he's only 20months, round here half the children have their own little pony (actualy pony) by now so maybe in relation to that his toys are silly, but he's just a baby!

scattykatty · 13/09/2009 20:32

DS has his pillow, a little baby pillow we got from Germany that we don't have a spare of but he can't sleep without

She thinks he should move on from board books too!
