The weather is lovely here so think im going to take dd out this afternoon was supposed to be tidying but hey ho lol

Found a good deal on a brand new stokke but still cant afford it but now as expensive as i originally thought, going to keep any eye out for a reasonable second hand one

Hope you feel better soon Nicola.

Sal, where's the good deal on Stokke? Still tempted by them.

scattykatty · 24/09/2009 13:27

The Stokke is just too ugly for my taste!

It would have to be REALLY cheap for me to push that around town!

Sunny and nice here, been to a big soft play area. My dressing gown is on the line, fluttering in the wind, lovely

sal1309 · 24/09/2009 16:06

DH just told me he thought it was 'odd' to refuse to put the heating on and still have washing out on the line You don't don't need the heating in September, and it's a sunny day, 2 loads air dryed today!

Been reading about buying 2nd hand pressies for Xmas... If someone had that kitchen I'd give it to DS 2nd hand for Xmas I think.

maxybrown · 24/09/2009 17:53

I have already bought second hand pressies for DS towards Christmas SK. He also had a second hand pressie for his birthday. He was as happy as a pig.....

nicolamumof3 · 24/09/2009 17:54

i put my heating on if im cold i don't care what the time of year is, i think most people tho just need an extra layer on, good old cardi!!

OP posts:
maxybrown · 24/09/2009 17:57

me too Nicola! i don't feel the cold generally but have had heating on once or twice for a short time! Also still put washing out though.

maxybrown · 24/09/2009 17:57

did you get your Gap voucher btw?

BexieID · 24/09/2009 18:06

Tom has always had a mix of 2nd hand and new for b/days and xmas. This xmas he has 2 wooden train sets I got off ebay, lol. Just need a nice box for it all to go in. Saves on packagingon the day too!

BexieID · 24/09/2009 18:09

Had my glucose tolerance test first thing this morning. Had to fast from midnight last night, no cuppa before I went after DP made me one, lol. Had blood taken, then had to drink the glucose drink and more blood taken 2 hours later. Then they gave me some tea and toast. Reminded me of when I had it in the afternoon after having Tom.

BexieID · 24/09/2009 18:10

We don't have central heating, just 2 oil heaters.

maxybrown · 24/09/2009 18:11

That's like us Bexie, just got DS a HUGE noah's ark - my niece has same one and he loves it but she is 14 and will not part with it lol. It cost us less than £10 and is one of the best noah's arks I have seen. He will be over the moon!

5inthebed · 24/09/2009 18:21

I'd bought Nicola's Stanly Snail, with the full intention of giving it to DS3 for christmas, but ds1 spotted it and started asking questions so he has it now.

Glad the pre-op went ok Dunoon.

Sal, have you looked on Kiddicare? They had Stokkes in reduced.

With the £500, as long as you get more than the basic family element, then you should get it. If you apply for it and gets declined, then you can appeal once your baby is born, and you might be entitled to it. Don't forget as well, if you call the WTC when you're on maternity leave and tell them your new annual salary (take off £100 for each week you're on mat leave for this tax year), your money will go up as well.

nicolamumof3 · 24/09/2009 18:28

talking of secondhand toys...just put this trail up!!

OP posts:
nicolamumof3 · 24/09/2009 18:29

5inthebed · 24/09/2009 18:30

AAAAAARRRRGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!

I need to send my mac back!

nicolamumof3 · 24/09/2009 18:35

why?????

OP posts:
maxybrown · 24/09/2009 18:36

what? Why?!!

horsemadgal · 24/09/2009 18:47

Bexie, whan do you get the results?
You should come to my hospital, I got a free meal from the canteen after mine.

scattykatty · 24/09/2009 19:13

God I'm knackered! How come everyone is on here now! I'm frantic between 5-7 feeding DS, washing, changing, putting down to bed, only just finished...phew

TBH DS has never had any toys 2nd hand before, but I've been thinking about it and we've spent so much on him and I think half the things could have been 2nd hand and he would never have noticed

DH hates 2nd hand though, he LOVES receipts and guarantees and won't get anything without them! Not that he ever returns anything, far too lazy!
