The latest Buggy Addicts thread :)

I know nothing else about the Twone, just fancy seeing one in the flesh whenever they end up being released. The top seat does indeed look great but the bottom one looks waaaay too in the basket to me, in a sort of where will they put their legs kinda way. Nowhere does it seem to say if either seat is really suitable from birth either. Hmmm.
Ah, trip down memory lane, what have I had? In chronological order and including things returned to the shop the next day: I'coo Pico 7/pii, ICandy Cherry, Petite Star Zia, Jane Carrera Aniversario, Mamas and Papas Nipi, Out n About Nipper 360, BJCM double, Bugaboo Gecko, Hauck Malibu, Babyhome Emotion Xtreet, Bugaboo Bee 2009, Cybex Callisto, Hauck Duett, Jane Carrera Aniversario.
Try to limit self to only 2 at any one time Wink so only have duett and xtreet at present.
Nagging feeling there's at least one thing I've forgotten. Am currently obsessed with tracking down the narrowest thing I can that's still comfortable for the occupant and has a good ride over rougher streets so right now I have my eye on maybe a Brio Spin 2012, Graco Evo, I'coo Primo and some other stuff that isn't coming to mind right now.

I'm very behind, what have you all had, your favourites and interested in getting at the moment?!?

Ihateparties · 06/01/2012 21:12

Oh and the Junior X Rider buggyboard that is apparently a sibling of the bumprider but amazon.com won't ship out of the US. Hmph. (I would link here had I figured out how)

saoirse86 · 06/01/2012 22:10

Hi ihate! Smile

I'm aswellasyou's sister. We're weirdo twins who have dd's born a week apart, have the same pushchair obsession and spend too much a lot of time together. So what I've had, along with doubles we've shared for our dd's to go in together are:
M&P 03 series
Zapp
Maclaren twin traveller
Buzz
BabyStyle Oyster (still have this one, it's my main pushchair)
Another zapp (still have it but thinking of selling it to get a more suitable stroller type thing, just need to prise it back off the IL's)
Jane Powertwin
Kolcraft Contours
Ziko Frankie
Britax B Dual (this is our current double)
Britax trekker (this is in the garage, it was my cheapy off roader but haven't used it yet Blush)
And a seed pli is on its way as we speak! Grin (I don't know why I need this but I definitely do!)
I'm sure I've missed one or two but can't think... Hmm
did I mention dd is only 15 months?!

suzie38 · 06/01/2012 22:33

My 44th is being picked up by my DH tomorrow from his Post Office...I've lost track now of what i've had...But made some major and very expensive mistakes in 2011...Trying to save money this year to spend on the house so won't be buying many and if i do they need to be cheap second hand ones...Exception might be the BJ Versa and like the look of the Graco Evo.

Tiggywunkle · 06/01/2012 22:41

Suzie :o You are admitting to liking the Graco in public :o lololol I let ihateparties off for being new. But even I will admit its interesting....

saoirse86 · 06/01/2012 23:12

I just spent at least 30 seconds looking for the like button then tiggy! Grin

Tiggywunkle · 07/01/2012 01:04

LOL....silly you!! LOL

aswellasyou · 07/01/2012 11:23

Apart from the doubles Saoirse mentioned, I've had an M&P P3 Pramette, Quinny Zapp, Silver Cross Halo, Chicco LiteWay, Bugaboo Gecko and Britax B-Mobile.
I like air tyres on pushchairs. I'd love an Easywalker June and a Baby Jogger Versa with GT wheels, but I'm a poor student so I can't afford these things until I have a real job! I'm also liking the idea of a Jané Rider, Mutsy 4Rider and Micralite Superlite at the moment. I like the look of the Graco Evo, but I have a feeling it's going to be a bit wide for a stroller like the B-Mobile.

Ihateparties · 07/01/2012 14:54

Oooh, really good range. I'm liking how everyone has different tastes, particular aspects that they like etc.

saoirse and aswell - great timing on the same age children! Looking forward to hearing about the seed Pli definitely, have never seen one in the flesh.

Suzie - what is number 44?!?

Lol re admitting to liking graco stuff.. I'll admit to liking anything, have no brand shame. Which probably explains some of my more dubious choices Blush I think the Evo looks great in the pictures but in reality am expecting wider and heavier than ideal. It has price on its side. Especially compared to the Versa (should I win the lottery or similar). I'm also a fan of the lie flat seat as oppose to bucket type given the choice (which isn't often) purely for practicality. The versa with gt wheels looks amazing.

So, theoretical question, in an ideal world what is the right number of prams at any one time?!

Tiggywunkle · 07/01/2012 15:21

Is there a right number??
Possibly - hmm.....ok
I swore when I had my DD that I was going to buy one pushchair and just the one and no other. And yes, I chose well, and yes, if I had had no other pushchair, I would have been happy. That was my Chameleon.
But I liked playing with pushchairs and ended up with a Zapp as well. But tat was it until I realised my plan pre No1 to add a buggy bard when we had No2 wasn't going to work. The world of doubles was where it all got interesting.
So, I think two is probably ideal with one child - a walking pushchair a quick fold/light pushchair. If you go off road then I could say a third was acceptable too :) With two you can possibly throw in a double or three, another lightweight single, a child carrying bike, wagons, carthorse or ten tonne lorry!

Having said that we have too many.....
But we really need a double, good quality single, a lightweight easy fold pushchair for the car.

However we have many more than that including one for swimming that fits in the lockers so it doesn't get stolen, off roaders, one with a flashing light for hubby to push, and several doubles lol.

But I think 2/3 could be the right number.

Tiggywunkle · 07/01/2012 15:21

Excuse typos - baby is trying to type too.

aswellasyou · 07/01/2012 17:59

I've just never liked the plasticky look and bulkiness of most Gracos. I like the Graco Symbio B though and the Evo looks good. I agree the price will make it a lot more interesting to me than a Versa in reality. If the Versa came with GT wheels, or you could buy them as a spare part for a reasonable price, the Versa would be the one!

saoirse86 · 07/01/2012 19:35

I do like the look of the evo, but it looks similar in lots of ways to an oyster and it's a similar price. So given the choice, I'd probably stick with the oyster, especially with the air tyres.

I'd love a June or Versa, but realistically I can't afford or justify either.

I think having a double, a rear facing pushchair and a small folding light one, and maybe an all terrain one too would be sensible. But I'm not all that sensible, so in my ideal world, I'd have a whole garage full of them. And I'd have a different one for each day of the month! Grin The Seed Pli will do as my all terrain one I think as I don't actually do all terrains! Then I'll get rid of the britax trekker. But I'd still like to replace the zapp with something 4 wheeled and with a good recline. I'm considering a maxi cosi noa, I just would prefer bigger wheels and I'm not sure about the zip recline. Confused MIL seems to have decided she's keeping the zapp though, even though she doesn't often take DD anywhere when she has her! Hmm And when my SIL's have their baby in April she's apparently going to be looking after him once a week so the zapp won't cut it!

Tiggywunkle · 07/01/2012 20:04

Give MIL a Noa and I bet she will happily throw the Zapp back at you to sell!!!! The Noa is a dream to use. The Zip recline is an easy one. The Noa has had the best zip recline we have used. I think because the fabric is quite flexible.

Tiggywunkle · 07/01/2012 20:06

That's it then - Gracos Evo's all round!!
Call yourselves Buggy addicts Wink Wink!!!!
Shock

Ihateparties · 07/01/2012 20:11

Lol, right is so subjective, I think 2-3 is sensible too.. but sensible is so much less fun! I would have a garage full too given the choice! Ideally infact I think 9 is a good round number.

Is the pli the one where the wheels fold in?!

Ihateparties · 07/01/2012 20:17

Saw a Noa today, if I didn't have the lightweight section covered I'd def get one. The recline looks great, I don't very often fancy a lie down in a buggy but I liked the sort of hamock-y look to it.

Ha ha.. should never have mentioned the graco

saoirse86 · 07/01/2012 20:27

Noooo, tiggy I don't want her to steal my noa! She's so weird. She doesn't have orlaith much really, although she probably will a bit more when I'm studying again. But she has to have all her own stuff for her, and she doesn't seem to want to pay for it. They have loads of money and they honestly wouldn't even notice if £150 went on a pushchair, but no, they'd rather steal ours. At this rate I'll have to have one for her, one for my mum, oh and maybe one for myself too!

Yes the pli has the wheels that fold in. We tried it in a shop about a year ago but I can't remember how it all worked now. I seem to remember you don't really need to fold the wheels in if you're lazy like me and just can't be bothered with one more stage of folding! It comes on Monday so hopefully I can let you all know what I think. I think I'll be straight out to the park even if it arrives at 5pm and it's dark! Grin

Tiggywunkle · 07/01/2012 20:28

I still have more than your ideal Blush!
Yes the Plii wheels fold in.
I think the Noa is a real gem - I don't think anyone else believes me though!!!!!
Graco Yes - its your fault!

Tiggywunkle · 07/01/2012 20:29

Where did you go to see a Noa today BTW?? You don't half get around at what 7/8 months pregnant with children in tow!! LOL

saoirse86 · 07/01/2012 20:36

How many children do you have ihateparties? And are you joining us on FB so we can nose at your photos?

You know how iPads are stupid and can't spell? Well instead of ihateparties it keeps wanting to write ihate arrows! What on earth is that about?! Confused

Tiggywunkle · 07/01/2012 20:42

Lol my iPad doesn't do that but it doesn't like certain letters which it constantly misses out - must be how I type - but I hate when you have to tell it three times that the word you typed is actually correct but it auto corrects before you can stop it!

Ihateparties · 07/01/2012 20:44

graco sorry Blush I promise to do better. Will find something to compensate for my error...

Saorise - Get a Noa, there's lots of places have them on offer right now! Def don't give it to the MIL (think it's mostly in the job description to be at least slightly weird) On the plus side she does a bit of childcare, I can barely get my own mother to do that with mine!

Tiggy - I went to Paul Stride again, it's only a few miles from the home and the website promised a sale. Hmph, yeah right. Once again chuckled at the Donkey and ogled the special edition peach they have hidden way up on the wall. It's entirely possible I will be buggy shopping until the day the baby is born (short labours, woohoo)! Not with the other kids though, there's no concentrating on anything then. You need to concentrate... right?!? This is important stuff... lol

Tiggywunkle · 07/01/2012 20:50

Ooohhh Dooooonnnkkkkkkeeyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!

Ihateparties · 07/01/2012 21:26
