At least you have ideas what to get next. I don't have a clue. I have been watching the Promenade video today and although some bits look good, I think the seats look cheap. I am surprised you don't get a mattress and liner for the lie flat carrycot type mode. You do with the much cheaper Hauck Duett! But there's no way I am buying another Phil&Teds product after this years catalogue of issues. I certainly know better than to buy one of the first batch.
I saw a lovely picture of the Easywalker June yesterday. That, the GT and Versa are on next years wish list. But that's as far as I have got!
I am still playing catch up for this year on BB.

DS is still very sick :( He's sleeping all day and he's being sick around the clock :( Very hard going and I can't get anything done :(

Bronch. is tough, all that mucous can make them very sicky - I remember DD3 having to have two different sized suction tubes to get all the goop out of her and they seemed to spend ages doing it. I began to worry that's all she was made up of was goop the amounts they could get out!

Our Child Assessment Unit/Children's Ward was very good with the tubes and she would breathe easier for suctioning (sometimes enough that she could be off oxygen for a bit) - could you perhaps take DS in for a check over to see if some cleaning out might help?

I have to say being at home with a baby with bronch. was much worse than being in hospital, at least with hospital all you need to do is pump and change nappies, much easier than being at home with two other children and a sick baby (though infinitely more heartbreaking to see DD3 on a NG tube, nasal prongs and a head boxSad).

PresentsRibbonsAndMerrySantas · 21/12/2011 20:24

not for ds as too young, but when dp had bronch, his doc told him to drink coke [the proper coca cola] theres something in it that helps loosen the mucus and gives relief, strange but true and it does work
benefitof.net/benefits-of-coke/
hope he's feeling better soon

PresentsRibbonsAndMerrySantas · 21/12/2011 20:27

i am still after a bj pod

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 21/12/2011 20:28

They were threatening an NG tube if we end up in hospital. He seems stable. To be honest his breathing is ok now - better than it was but he's sick after every feed. He won't entertain water although I would prefer him on it now to try to settle him. But he took ten ounces in the night and kept it down! He is sleeping round the clock. The doctor said we would have three bad days getting worse on the third day, then three bad days before getting better. This is day 3. I simply can't leave him though. I tried to walk away earlier and he was sick :( I just want him better for Christmas. Last Christmas he had a huge allergic reaction a couple of days before Christmas and turned into huge red blob. He slept his way through Christmas on antihistamines!

I have just had to pay £15.25 customs for the Gymboree clothes :( It's the first clothes I have had to pay for.

When I was really sick, I too was told to drink Coke. I thought giving it to DS in a bottle would be seen as child abuse though!!!! I need to go and buy some Dioralyte, but a pinch of salt and sugar will do for tonight.

i have given it to ds when he had a chest infection, Xmas Blush but it was out of a cup, you could always let it go flat,as it's the ingredients not the fizz that work, it is only a soft drink at the end of the day.
flat lemonade works for an upset tummy as well.
i am still waiting for the boots i ordered from the us, they are no longer being tracked, so hoping this is simply because they are sitting in customs waiting to be cleared, fingers crossed they arrive this week though.
i did not think you got charged vat on childrens clothes, i always thought they were exempt Xmas Confused

suzie38 · 21/12/2011 21:12

I had a Gymboree order arrive last week and no customs on that...Next lot i'm sending to my parents address because last 2 orders have arrived via Yodel...There's another collection of clothes on Gymboree that i want to order...This is getting very expensive now!!! Going to see if the shop has Riders in tomorrow...Really like the idea of the small fold but am very reluctant to sell the Go though...I really need just one big pushchair especially if i rearrange the living room furniture and the big Varde chest of drawers goes back under the stair, there won't be much room for storing pushchairs.
Tiggy willing your DS to get better as quickly as possible...Sounds like he's really suffering right now.

Found this great deal...Anyone know anything infomation about the company???

PresentsRibbonsAndMerrySantas · 21/12/2011 21:49

i am sure i have read very very bad reviews about them [the company] but a google should bring them up

PresentsRibbonsAndMerrySantas · 21/12/2011 21:54

on a quick google half and half, some very very bad reviews and a few good ones. i have read alot more bad reviews about them than good, over the years. thats why the name rang a bell, i have always avoided them. i can recommend kiddicare.com they have been very good

suzie38 · 21/12/2011 22:04

Think you might be right.

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 21/12/2011 22:17

I hope he's better soon too. I can't get water in him :( But it's a good sign because he knows it's water, not milk and is fighting me!! I will ave to go back to milk. I have neck ache from holding him for two days and nights. He knows whenever I walk away and then is sick :(

Lucky you avoiding import tax Suzie. I hope the clothes arrive before Christmas as I put in some cute hair bobbles and clips.

Will he take an ice pop (could be just water or watered down juice)?

It's so difficult when they seem hell bent on getting dehydrated. Give him a snuggle from me Smile

suzie38 · 21/12/2011 22:47

Do you have a sling you could put him in??? I was thinking along the lines of ice pops too or juice...Though when DD was younger she wasn't that keen on juice.

I've had 4 parcels from Gymboree now and have had customs charges for one of them.

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 21/12/2011 22:47

No, he's too little really. He's not properly weaned yet - long story but a family history of sickness, wind and gagging. I am resorting to milk again now against my better judgment but at least he will drink it.

OP posts:
PresentsRibbonsAndMerrySantas · 21/12/2011 22:57

my ds would not wean, he gagged and was sick with lumpy food. what about those flavoured water for babies you can buy or very weak watered down fresh juice.
when dd1 was little, i was told to give her a wet flannel to suck, not one thats been washed using fabric conditioner though as the conditioner will still be in it. [that was 11 years ago though] or cup feed the watered down juice, mine always linked bottle with milk, so anything else had to be out of something else.

mummyistheword · 21/12/2011 23:04

Hi haven't been on ages, house move etc, started a thread re nippers etc but now all a dither as could get a bee plus, liked my bee a lot for dd1, thought I would pop on here for any opinions on seat size? Etc, trying dd2 in one tmrw. Then will consider options, don't go off road so that's ok, walk a fair bit but reasonable paths and very good paths, a mixture, have a very strong willed and it seems legged!! ...17 month old, am often pushing an empty buggy with our coats etc, bag and woolies and shopping while dd2 walks between me and dd1 who is nearly 4. Currently a new ish barely used phil and teds that replaced my beloved double nipper, it's nice but not as near good a push a nipper and a faff when pushing empty! Could have fun buying the bugaboo accs later?! Like the storage bag thingy? Looks interesting. Will def get use out next buggy purchase as dd2 has long morn nap in pram....seems to not do the lunchtime one, and of course goes in buggy a fair bit as can't walk my pace for errands etc, may need more when novelty of hand holding and walking is replaced by chasing and bolting! Ooooo they look lovely! Are they functional though?!! Sorry to nudge in on your thread! But a group of pushchair experts is best place to ask these things.

mummyistheword · 21/12/2011 23:18

Have just the reviews pages here, oh dear! Lots probs there then ,back to the drawing board! Also get well soon all little ones and tired mummies well done, both mine awful coughs and colds this week, with temps, hard work! Dp off as it happens so that's handy but can't go out n about much. Night all

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 22/12/2011 04:41

Yawn....Santa, please may I have a well baby back for Christmas. These night time sick / feed episodes are very draining and I just want to see my baby smile again :(

Hello. Sorry to hear how poorly your ds is still tiggy. I hope today is better and you both get some rest.
My mum is still in hospital, but improving and on new antibiotics. Having xray today. I'm pretty sure she is asthmatic like me. Only affected with a cough after a virus. Too much mucus from inflamed lungs then leads to a bacterial infection. The trick is to nip it I'm the bud with steroid inhaler at the start. Calm the lung inflammation. Avoid the mucus over production, not get a bacterial infection.
I'm quite amazed they've not diagnosed this already. It's the same dr surgery that diagnosed me in my 20's.
I also can't believe they don't have her on oral steroid pills now despite her being in hospital with chest infection and having lost weight and appetite. :(
Tiggy how nice are your drs? I'd be tempted to take him back. Mine wouldn't mind if I took kids daily if worried. Not that I do. On average they only see each child once every couple of years...so when I do go they know it's something I and time alone cannot fix.
I did take ds daily with chicken pox as a baby because he had complications with that.
Any how, wishing all a happy healthy xmas! [fsanta]
Micralite have managed to get their new classic in the uk in time for xmas. Gits! I've no money for one now.

BrassMonkeyBaubles · 22/12/2011 08:39

Mummyistheword I don't recommend bugaboo. I had issues with the bee plus and the chameleon.
For rear facing I would suggest the uppababy vista. For something light and compact that pushes one handed I'd suggest the micralite fast fold classic. If you want the vista it can be cheaper to buy from www.amazon.com even paying shipping and import duty upfront as you do with them. Expect to save up to £100 off uk prices.
Www.pramworld.co.uk has a good price on the micralite model mentioned above. Kiddicare do price matching though.

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 22/12/2011 09:41

I am glad your mum is doing better. I turn asthmatic after a very bad cold but no other time.

DS only woke the once last night thank goodness which is a huge improvement. He had about 6 ounces of milk. I am sure he will be sick when he wakes up but having kept two decent feeds down (one at 11) for 5 hours each means he shouldn't be dehydrating which is my main concern. His breathing is a bit better. Our doctor is fab and loves seeing DS but he also talked me through all the ins and outs and how this would progress, how there was nothing he could do and that hospital and an NG tube would be worst case. I have nursed lots of sick children and so was just watching for signs of things getting worse. But DS has been one of the worst ever. But I think he's turned a corner.

OP posts:
PresentsRibbonsAndMerrySantas · 22/12/2011 10:42

tiggy, i am pleased that ds is a little bit better, and keeping down some of his milk.
monkey pleased to hear your mum is improving.

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 22/12/2011 11:05

So, what should I buy next?? Part of me thinks an Oyster just to put it in perspective....(sits on the snob inside)...or a Bugaboo Bee (I don't get them...maybe getting one would help with that?) or something else equally ubiquitous? And don't say a Maclaren! I have pushed enough of those to know there are better options!
