oh my, i have been on here too much today, i have just called my youngest, dd to her dad, he looked at me Confused and said who Blush

Tiggywunkle · 26/09/2011 23:09

Haha! That's funny Prams :)

I have changed my mind about the red B-Agile. It's been here approx 16 hours and it's already dusty, got bits on it and is showing the dirt and it's done no more than be put up and down and for a quick walk. It won't just brush off with my hand either :( But I did take my 2.11.24 y/m/d year old out today and she looked comfy ie legs were just right. Like I said yesterday she's a bit reclined and I did see her trying to pull herself up. I love the footbrake - it's very good and I love the clunky feeling. I absolutely love the sponge handle from a feel perspective, but I am scared to ruin it because the handle is on the floor when folded. So whilst I love sponge handles I am going to have to put a protector on it which kind of defeats the object of liking it! I know the handle of my BJCM got a fair bashing as we moved it around, carried it, set it down etc. I don't like the rubber really on the BJCM but it is very practical and I never worried about it.
I have managed to make the back fabric less flappy - there is a system of velcro bits which work well. I loved just throwing my things in the basket rather than having to feed them through a gap. However one thing is illogical to me and could actually be the deal breaker and that is the automatic lock. When you fold the pushchair it ends up in a certain direction in your hand - I guess it depends where you stand, but having parked the pushchair I approached it from behind on the press in safety catch side. I am right handed. But when the pushchair is folded, and you try to undo the safety catch the pushchair wants to open towards you rather than outwards. Even if you turn the pushchair round it's not right. I need to look at it again but I am wondering if the catch is illogically upside down. Hmmm...I am pondering what's not right now! I can't go and look at the minute either. The B-Agile handled fab though with DD in even though she's over 15kgs. Easy to push. Easy to manoeuvre. Handled kerbs no problem however it took me a few kerbs to convince myself I didn't have an adjustable handle as there was a slight clicking / give in the handle like you get with telescoping handle. But the handle feels low for me at 5ft 6ins. I need to get both handle heights because I am sure there is a difference. I would still much much prefer the B-Agile to an umbrella fold pushchair but I am not convinced by it for me but there's time yet! I just need the BJCM4 to arrive!

pramsgalore · 27/09/2011 10:35

the cam drove me mad when i first had one, with the black fleece covers and the blue ones for bits on them, there was no way i could get them clear of fluff etc. my p&t foam handle on my sport was still in very good nick when i sold it and i was forever puting the handle bar on the floor outside and the way i folded it the handle would hit the floor, it had one very small nick in handle and that was it. thats one of the things a prefered on the b-agile was the basket and the auto lock, but bj have improved these with their new ones out next year have'nt they.

Tiggywunkle · 27/09/2011 11:04

My Cameleon drove me mad too - the fabric is very similar to the Cam footmuff outer. I was constantly delinting my Cam hood and footmuff. I think I will write and ask about the handle because I know P&Ts foam handles are tested for longevity and are designed knowing they hit the floor. This is quite a soft foam but it would be good to know if it's kind of reinforced / tested like the P&Ts are.

I don't know about an auto lock on the City Mini or GT. There's one on the Versa that can be put on or off. I love the auto lock feature in general. There's just something illogical about it. I am going to ask DH what he thinks later. Normally when you undo an auto lock you can flick the pushchair out...unless I am doing it wrong. But you need to unlock the lock but to do so with my right hand, the handle ends up against my body, so I can't grab the handle and flick. I probably need to tip the pushchair upside down so that the handle is in the air, undo the clip and open it kind of upside down. I don't think I could balance it sideways I need to play basically!!!!

Tiggywunkle · 27/09/2011 11:12

Aha...Suzie, Dan at Lullaboo Baby said that the B-Agile handle is 96cms from the floor (which I can believe because the max height is 100cms and the hood is higher than the handle). The BJCM is 105.5cms. That's a large difference. No wonder I could feel the difference! The BJCM is a tad high for me but the rounded shape means I hold it lower than the top.

pramsgalore · 27/09/2011 11:14

the bj versa and gt both have an auto lock and the seat on the versa is bigger than a select seat, i can not wait for them to come out as i think it will be ideal for ds.

Tiggywunkle · 27/09/2011 11:50

I am still in shock at the B-Agile handle being so low. I had seen the 96cm but it didn't register. Nor did I spot it in the shop with it next to the BJCM. I believe a Zapp handle is 103cms which is often considered low. I love doing pushchair comparisons :)

pramsgalore · 27/09/2011 12:00

that would be ok for me as i am vertically challenged Grin

pramsgalore · 27/09/2011 13:12

the baby joggers out now would be too high for me and i don't like holding a handle at the sides, i have my mima handle set at 99cm and the same on my cameleon and thats just right,

Tiggywunkle · 27/09/2011 13:23

And that's why all pushchairs should have adjustable handles ;) I have discounted more pushchairs with the wrong height handle than anything else because if it's wrong I get crippling back ache :(

pramsgalore · 27/09/2011 13:33

i am only 5 foot and i have my handles 3 cm higher than the b-agile, what were they thinking.

suzie38 · 27/09/2011 16:56

Well i love a low handle so the B Agile would suit me in that sense...I'm 5'2" so i know the Xari will suit me handle height wise.

suzie38 · 28/09/2011 07:51

Am i crazy for liking the Mothercare Spin??? Maybe it's because i know the true origin of it??? Though i know there's bad reviews of it on the Mothercare site plus a bad story on here...The spin bit seems better than the Orbit's spin system though with no sideways option of course.

pramsgalore · 28/09/2011 08:08

lol i have looked at the spin a few times, yes when i saw hollie review the wave i thought it looked like a spin, it does look nice in real life, i have stared a few times when i have seen one Grin

suzie38 · 28/09/2011 09:18

The Stroller Girl prefers the Cruz to the Versa...Says she thinks it looks nicer but i prefer the look of the Versa...Asked her if she knows what the handle height of the Cruz is compared to the Vista, which was too high for me...Mind you realised the Versa has no bumper bar, wonder if it'll be an optional extra like it is on other models???

pramsgalore · 28/09/2011 09:27

i prefer the versa and once it comes out, i am going to track one down to see in rl, i saw baby gizmos reviews on the new baby joggers and she reports that both the gt and versa have auto locks and the seat on the versa is larger than a select seat so sounds promising. i bet you will be able to buy a bumperbar for it, i do like a bumperbar but i prefer gate opening ones.

pramsgalore · 28/09/2011 09:36

the spin pushchair has 3 different names but yet all three look the same spin/wave/Coletto Matteo Hmm

suzie38 · 28/09/2011 09:40

I'm used to fixed bumper bars as the only gate one i had was on the Vista and i only used it about 5 times...But i realise they are more handy but i'm so used to fixed, i'd probably still use a gate one in the same way...But the Xari's is best because of the 3 positions.

suzie38 · 28/09/2011 09:41

JJ Cole, are eveidently selling their own version of the Spin called the Broadway...That's how i came across the Wave...Same as JL putting their name on another brand.

pramsgalore · 28/09/2011 09:58

what is the 3 positions on the xari bumperbar, me thinks i am missing something, but then i rarely read instructions.
