Nobody ever pounces on me in JL. But that is because there is always an expecting couple, or a few, shopping for pushchairs too, and they get all the attention (they mostly seem to go for Icandie peaches.. maybe it's the shiny chrome that seduces the gentlemen). I probably also give out a "windowshopping" vibe (not to mention the "looking scruffy and poor" vibe Blush ).

saoirse86 · 29/05/2011 21:40

We certainly weren't pounced on. The mimas were right at the front of the baby equipment section whereas most of the pushchairs are kind of round the corner. There were quite a few people there with bumps and babies who were being looked after. We're both 25 (but look about 18, 20 at a push) and I doubt they thought we were serious buyers compared to all these yummy mummies. Our mum had also taken the girls off in the pushchair for a nose around the rest of the shop. So we basically looked like teenagers who weren't pg and had no babies being a bit weird looking at pushchairs that are clearly out of our price range! Grin

We did ask for help eventually but she didn't know a great deal TBH. She just gave us some info and pricing on them and the accessories.

Toys I know what you mean, there always seems to be a couple with twins or a huge bump looking at the peach! Confused I actually don't think we've ever been there and not seen any twins. I have a theory that they're all so busy being high flyers that they either wait a while and have IVF or pay for IVF and end up with twins. Wink

aswellasyou · 29/05/2011 21:47

We didn't get pounced on. It was actually a bit difficult to get someone's attention at first. In fairness neither of us are pregnant unless you've got something to tell us Saoirse and our Mum had disappeared with the babies so she didn't have to listen to yet more pushchair chat! Grin The woman who was showing it to us was really lovely but surprised that we knew so much about the Kobi! She said it came in two weeks ago yesterday-the day after we were last there. I would prefer it in a different colour but my God it looks comfy. I didn't realise the seat and shoulder pads are memory foam. How posh is that for a little baby?!
I also got her to show me one of the three Hmm Cameleons they have on show. One of them was a lovely dark turquoise colour. I like turquoise! [wunk] Frigg won't live this down!

saoirse86 · 29/05/2011 21:49

I've just said most of that love!! And no I've got nothing to tell you, did you now hear me whinging about my period pains all day?! You know if I was pregnant you'd probably know before Mat!

saoirse86 · 29/05/2011 21:50

not hear me

aswellasyou · 29/05/2011 21:50

Why did we just write the same post? Hmm
Today we saw about 3000 maybe 12 Cameleons/Geckos/Frogs and three sets of twins in Peach Blossoms. Two in the parent room with us (being twins) and the babies looking like twins. It was a bit weird actually!

aswellasyou · 29/05/2011 21:51

Oh yeah I forgot. Stop saying the same thing as me!

suzie38 · 29/05/2011 21:54

Maybe Mumsnet should create a special symbol in honor of Friggs [wunk] !!!

aswellasyou · 29/05/2011 21:58

I would love that! But what would it look like? A drunken attempt at a wink is difficult to capture in emoticon form. [wunk]

The Zapp Xtra seat units are actually pretty cool - in fact the first thing I did was to go out and buy a cocoon because the seat feels very exposed. But I did like it - I wish Dorel would tie the adaptors to the frame! You slide one button to the side and then squeeze the other in to remove the seat.

Re the Mima Kobi - I didn't know the seats were memory foam! I will have to ask about that. I don't think its on the website either. Go on horrify me at how much money a Kobi is. I asked about the prices of the comfort packs, raincover, changing bag but not the basic price of the chassis and / or a seat! Once you tell me I will wrap it back up in its cotton wool and not breathe on it again ;)

FriggFRIGG you wont get anything this side of Tuesday but photos sounds great when the MB arrives. I reallly realllly want a MB! As for the Duet....nowt...nada...nothing....but I am going to the P&T / MB University in about a ten days time (or something like that) so hope to hear something. But I found out this week that they no longer have a Duet in the offices so I won't get to stroke it again :( How long do you reckon a ship will take to head to the UK from China? I have been promised I will be told when it leaves port for the UK.

Anyway off now to start Ebaying some pushchairs... At some point my baby needs his bedroom back!

aswellasyou · 29/05/2011 23:27

It said they were memory foam on the ticket blurb. £1275 if I remember correctly. Something like £950 for the single and £850 for the Xari. Saoirse got a print out of all the costs. One can dream!
My eBay items have all finished now and sold for....drum roll........£339.63!!!!! You don't know how excited I am! I did a little dance singing "I'm in the money" for my daughter earlier. GrinBlushGrin

aswellasyou · 29/05/2011 23:39

I just had a quick look at shipping times from China. It looks like about 2 months! Shock

FriggFRIGG · 29/05/2011 23:39

i would have loved to be a fly on the wall for that dance Grin
what on earth have you been selling?! the only time mine hits that amount is when i sell buggys Smile
mines at £22 atm Sad

i .need.more,money!!

im still trying to save for our damn custom engagement rings...and theyre only £70 each Blush
thats so embarrassing

Guildfordnanny · 29/05/2011 23:54

Thanks aswellasyou - hopefully Saoirse can check the prices for me. Well done on your Ebay stuff. I made about half what you did.

2 months for shipping time...well if the ship hasn't left then it will be right at the end of July :(

Meanwhile I played with a BJ Elite today - I can't believe how much storage is on that pushchair - it is my sort of pushchair!! One thing Baby Jogger seem to understand is that children come with cups, toys, snacks, and parents who also like a drink (wunk wunk Wink) and somewhere to put their phone and purse / wallet. The padding on the seats was so thick too. And the size isn't much different to the BJCM especially if you pop the wheels off. I have to say side by side with the BJCM I would choose the Elite for the small amount of difference in size. It was interesting to see the difference.

I also played with a MyChild Sienta Duo - I was actually pretty impressed. Lovely padded seats, good hoods etc. Light to push even with my two children in. However it was a bit low for my daughter who wanted to trail her feet. But very good TBH.

FriggFRIGG · 29/05/2011 23:57

my friend had a bjcClassic, its amazing the storage on that thing is easily enough for two kids (i know ive nicked it Grin! and thats only a single!

OP posts:
Guildfordnanny · 30/05/2011 00:07

I can see me getting a single Elite at some point....but not yet. I want a 4 wheel BJCM first ;) Oh and did I mention a Mountain Buggy Duet and Swift and a Strawberry??? (Well all wishful thinking because OH will probably only let me have the Duet and Swift (the former because he knows I want one and the latter to put a Freerider on) but I can probably do swapsies for the BJCM4 and the Strawberry.

aswellasyou · 30/05/2011 00:11

Frigg, I was mostly selling bras and everyone wants the matching knickers too! In fairness, there were 10 sets from Agent Provocateur but I only had 3 out of 40 items not sell. There were about 10 items of clothing I think and the rest was underwear that I would have probably just got rid of one way or another. I could get into this eBay selling. Although my other stuff won't make that much but it's still fun! Grin
Guildford, loving the reference to parents and drinks. [wunk]Wink

ToysRLuv · 30/05/2011 00:12

I've now pretty much bought the BJ City Series, which is practically the same as the Classic, so very similar to Elite. I saw it in Costa the other day and it looks quite big. But then again I was there with my Mirage, so practically everything else looked huge in comparison.

I hope both I and DS'll like the BJ. I walk a lot every day, so need a comfy ride. Currently use Vigour 3+ all the time, but could do with something that is even comfier and folds a bit easier.

Never took to the BJCM. Weird handle at a weird height (it really should be adjustable and have some foam on it), slouchy seat (not that the City Series is any better on that account, but it's got other things going for it), and just somehow not nice (although can't put a finger on it.. it's just a feeling). Maybe it's just a counter reaction to it being so popular (I have an irrational dislike of Bugaboos and Maclarens as well.. or maybe it is mixed with a bit of pram envy in Bugaboo's case. Who knows? :) ).

FriggFRIGG · 30/05/2011 00:21

oooh,i have some bras....they're 'hot milk' ones though,so unlikely to sell as well as Agent Provocateur Grin
and just ten tons of baby stuff

i want a duett, obv's,the MB double im waiting for,a kolcraft, and now guild is making me want an icandy, ive never so much as looked twice at one before...

OP posts:
Guildfordnanny · 30/05/2011 00:28

Toys - I am glad you said that about the BJCM handle because that really got to me too. I had backache half way to the shops. I should have bought the Elite first time TBH. I have PE boards in the back of my BJCMs. My son sleeps in his every day! I have to say I love Baby Joggers but each to their own ;)

FriggFRIGG - I love iCandy's....they are just so beautiful. The Silvercross Surf interests me as well but it is a bit iCandy-ish but what a small basket!
