ooh i never knew what stovies was made from so thats taught me something.

Just back from town slipping and sliding on ice/snow. Bloody humoungus queue in sainsburys only went in for bread and sausage rolls for boys lunch.

now at home feet up watching a bit of UP should put fire on but can't be doing with getting logs in grrrr. feel worn out already!! You have my sympathies dunoon!

Dunoon · 20/12/2010 13:19

Basl check your inbox. I have messaged you.

Nicola stovies can be made in a few different ways. I think originally it was just potatoes and dripping? My mum makes it with potatoes, onions and mince and it is wonderful. My children and DP don't like it of course.

nicolamumof3 · 20/12/2010 13:23

oooh i fancy some right now lol!

im still hungry after two corned beef sandwiches. No nice biscuits to have with a cuppa later either. I was seriously weighed down in sainsbo's couldn't fit anymore in pushchair. Nipper is feeling weird to push atm. I need to strip it and clean all round wheels etc. But need a fine day to do that. Debating how to get to tunbridge wells tomorrow for shopping don't fancy train due to the hill i have to walk up/down to station. But bus will be a struggle with all three and the nipper.

yes i've got to go, just had a busy week last week, felt like all my afternoons had been taken up so hadn't a chance to go get what i need. Im ok its two shops can't really take that long? Im lucky the boys aren't bad shoppers we'll go first thing and have some lunch there.

I'd sooner be out than have squabbling boys trashing my house (like now!)

basl · 20/12/2010 14:30

Maxy please don't buy me a card. Far too much for you to be getting on with the now. Send me a lovely message on my birthday and that would mean so much.

Third mince pie of the day here, after toasted cheese sandwich. Not very healthy but does put hair on your chest.
I may need to leave the house with DDs soon as they have hit the hyper stage and there is a lot of squealing going on. No more tidying getting done either.
Ah just gone nice and quiet as I typed that.

Dunoon · 20/12/2010 14:34

Passes mince pie to HMG.

maxybrown · 20/12/2010 14:35

nicolamumof3 · 20/12/2010 14:40

i know the feeling dunoon. Hate to say this but so much worse when tom is here, he really winds the two little ones up, and he just keeps doing stupid things that they then copy. Like now trying to play with a sodding bouncy ball. I feel like throwing them all out the door. Cannot get on with a thing without leaving them as all hell breaks loose

maxybrown · 20/12/2010 14:41

Xmas Grin you know darn well I don't mean it Mrs

Dunoon has called me scary before though come to think of it Xmas HmmXmas Grin

Can't persuade my bottom to move off comfy sofa

basl · 20/12/2010 14:42

My house too lol. Olivia and Daniel have just helped themselves to some of my new perfume and body creme i got from my cousin. Smell like boots the chemist but i will insist on sitting here typing away and letting them run riot Xmas Smile

OP posts:
basl · 20/12/2010 14:43

Imagine you as a teacher !!!! OMG shakin in my boots. Thats no joke either.

OP posts:
Dunoon · 20/12/2010 14:43

Yes DD1 can be very helpfull with the other two at times and at other times as you say she just winds them up. It usualy ends up in tears in either case.
However going into town can sometimes be worse!

Can you leave Tom on his own? I sometimes let DD1 stay at home and that way she gets some peace and so do her sisters.

maxybrown · 20/12/2010 14:44

peace here now, dog asleep and little friend gone home, bliss. Right this is not getting anything done is it?

maxybrown · 20/12/2010 14:45

lol Basl - I'm soft really Xmas Hmm

Dunoon · 20/12/2010 14:46

Think I'm staying today and will go out tomorrow as it will be dark soon. The DDs have quietened down a bit [wonder what the hell I'm going to find upstairs]
