Well just put it on hold for the now and both you and i will bloody well sort it out come the New Year. Don't know if you ever have read any of the threads on the Mental Health topic Xmas Grin not suggesting you should but i do and there is one in particular that has been going on for a long time.
The other day someone came on it and basically took everyone by surprise. Her advice was that nobody not nobody is going to change things unless you do it yourself. No counciling not meds nothing will change your life more than yourself. Nobody like her suggestion even tho she spoke from great experience. Well it really made me sit up and think. The poor girls who is having the worst imaginable time is getting know where quick but i could not believe how powerful this message was.

We get one shot at life Flyme and i tell you i bloody well am not going to be feeling the way i do this time next year and invite you to join me. Lets put it on hold tho and get over christmas and try enjoy it. Then My Darling Scottish Lass we are going to make changes.

OK??? Are you in?? Sending you a big squeezy hug and a high Five sister!!! lol I know exactly how you feel xxx

Xmas Grin Yay! I do read them basl and some are very helpful yes. Not reading the one you mention but may look it up. Thank you so much for the hgs and h5s. You should be a counsellor.
I have told myself a million times to leave it until new year but you know it comes back and goes around and around in my head. My life is going to be changing in major ways I know.

Dunoon · 16/12/2010 13:57

Can you link to it basl?
Is it rhk?

Dunoon · 16/12/2010 14:02

Ok now I am going out to try and get last christmas pressies sorted.

maxybrown · 16/12/2010 14:09

Sorry, felt that was the time i could jump on the cart with you!

And bless you bless you for looking for us Basl! Snowing like mad here atm. Casper not impressed byt thw hwirly white stuff

basl · 16/12/2010 14:18

Flyme yes it is indeed rhk and i will never ever post on that as it is way out of my league for commenting but i read with anticipation that the poor girl gets a bit of relief. The girl is not going to post on it again as she feels everyone taking it the wrong way but i know exactly where she is coming from. I am a blamer of the way i feel is down to everyone else and need to give myself a wee look inside and be a bit more honest. Hope you get your shopping sorted. xx

Maxy my hand is hanging out ready to catch on to the New Year train to a New beginning lol hold on Ohhhhhh yay i cought you. Your on love. Safe and sound and a big hug for you too my precious friend. Me too with the emotions. Just taken Daniel up for a snooze and he was crying and kicking telling me he no tired. So i asked him if i could sing him some songs and he allowed me to sing. [cats chorus] Well this never happens but he fell a sleep in my arms and the tears where flooding while i sang Silent night and Chestnust Roasting. He lay in bed fast asleep and i just bawled my eyes out. Well whats the bloody well all about Xmas Grin.

I refuse point blank to feel like this next year and i have never been more serious about anything in my life.

Maxy you are most welcome i will have another look out tomorrow for you love xx

Terry is asleep on sofa with a splitting headache. Boys are having big treat of tea on the 'little table' in front of telly!! Early tea as tonight is Tate's school disco!!

got to walk him round in half an hour.

luckily got some more pressies today im also done....thank goodness.

nicolamumof3 · 16/12/2010 20:46

Rant alert....

im so so tired, feeling sick, worn out, but still have 101 things to do...why is it that is always left to us women to do everything for xmas?? Oh thats right because we are 'housewives' who sit on our backsides doing sod all all day..grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

horsemadgal · 16/12/2010 21:10

Oh no Nicola. Men don't do Christmas things right anyways.
Right can we help? Concentrate on one thing at a time. Make a list. Sure loads of stuff don't matter.
I've stopped trying to be wonder woman, I know I just can't do it any more.

nicolamumof3 · 16/12/2010 21:16

i just balled my eyes out about the shortbread. Tis probably hormones. hows the snow?

horsemadgal · 16/12/2010 21:27

Hormones and too much on your plate hunny.

What's with the shortbread? I love Lidl's chocolate chip shortbread, yum!

Snow has more or less turned to ice, main roads fine but back roads scarily slippy.

nicolamumof3 · 16/12/2010 21:33

i always make it for the teachers at xmas. its usually lovely too, i made choc chip last year mmmmh!

maxybrown · 16/12/2010 21:37

Oh God Nic, full sympathies. If Matthew tells me in anice soft gentle voice to just be calm, and he doesn't know what the problem is I'll.................GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!

maxybrown · 16/12/2010 21:38

if he tells me once more I meant

Thank you Basl, so glad to be on the train with you, phew! Bloomin well need it.

nicolamumof3 · 16/12/2010 21:46

terry keeps saying 'just don't worry about it' just don't do it?? grrr if i don't who the hell will and im a fussy cow its important everything is done and everyones got the right presents and everything looks 'nice' i know i make work for myself. But hey ho.

Trying to up my fluid intake and struggling water makes me feel so sick now. But i have blood test in morning as i was too dehydrated for them to take blood properly at my booking in last week. So have blood test at 9.30 and luka has docs after.

maxybrown · 16/12/2010 21:53

I feel like screaming and screaming and then screaming some more!!!

How is Luka Nic?

nicolamumof3 · 16/12/2010 22:06

not right he was complaining earlier of ear ache too. He will have full check at docs tomorrow has an awful chesty cough. Dh now has 'man flu'.

im so cold, so tired but never sleep at night. im a right barrel of laughts aren't i?!! Xmas Grin

horsemadgal · 16/12/2010 22:12

Well it doesn't matter if the teachers have home made shortbread now does it? Your health is more important.

BexieID · 16/12/2010 22:50

Just a quick check in. I've used most of my child free net time this week to order last min pressies (mainly ones I should have ordered weeks ago Xmas Blush). Have 10 parcels on the way inc a fishtank for SIL!

Hope everyone is well. Tom had an ear infection and missed his panto at nursery. Erin missed her first xmas party. Tom is much better now at least.

basl · 17/12/2010 01:52

OK just in from work as girls car broke down. I care not a jot as i am now off till after christmas.

Nicola Nicola Nicola. Firstly i thankyou for sharing how awful a time you are having as it just goes to show we are not alone in our struggles.

  1. I strongly suggest you ask for someone to help with the clubs, school runs etc etc
  2. The amount of house work you put in is astonishing to say the least.
  3. Christmas presents, prams, teachers short bread. You are a perfectionist to the extreme and love you for it but the sooner you think about no 1 the better.
  4. Time to ones self? Bet you never heard of that eh? Well i know for a fact you have some very lovely friends on FB and sure if you just asked and let your pride down a bit you could have a wee hour to yourself. [if you were near me i would not hesitate]
  5. Your boys are gorgeous, happy, well cared for, want for nothing however bet they would love a fresh bouncy mummy AND daddy.
  6. Which takes me on to Terry, I know men are a pain in the arse but you talk about how often he work and i bet it's no picnic for him either. I reckon in his trade he is stressed out to the max. However i get the impression he still does his bit and has the added stress of homelife and quite CLEARLY loves his wife [I READ HIS FB hee hee]
  7. So many clubs and walking back and forward and stress HOWEVER.....

You have a new baby to look forward to and you really need to try and i am trying to not sound like a man and say take it easy!!!!! Ditch the short bread, ditch a night of swimming, [they can swim], ditch anything you truly think will not make a serious impact on your childrens lives.

I have known you for a rather long time and think you are wonderful. I am positive your children do too. You thrive on being a mother and i admire your input into your boys wellbeing. You never miss a thing!!!

I so wished i lived near you ALL!!!! Nicola please please please just for a teeny wee while let down your guard. I think you deserve it BIG TIME!!

Ok that last post made me very thirsty so i had to pour a glass of one of my finest red wines Xmas Grin

Maxy Maxy Maxy

  1. Scream Scream Scream !!! love it and it really makes you get rid of all the pent up anger.
  2. Hormones are pesky and make me turn into a loon however...
  3. You said quote " Fed up of being a nobody" Well you have certainly been a significant person in my life. I have never met you but you have made me laugh so much and been there for me in some of my most awful times. I have shared more things with you than i have anyone FACT!!!
4.You have the most adorable gorgeous boy that i feel so drawn to and i never met him. ]
  1. You MUST be a gemini?? [only kidding] you have such split personality Xmas Grin you can be so strong and have an opinion and carry it but so vulnerable too.
  2. Your hubby is a wee gem i thing?? He too has a stressful job.
  3. You don't like where you live etc and it's not fair as i think if we could zoom you out of there and put you back to where all your friends are you would be cooking with gas.
  4. Love Love Love how you kicked ass at the post office.

Maxy i will make it up to you for disappointing you and Diva. I plan to things different in the NEW YEAR!!

Basl you are bloody lovely!!!

and you are right!!

I posted a few months ago about learning to nurture yourself and put yourself first.
We,as women and mothers are the linchpins are our family's.We hold everything together and in order to be the best that we can be for everyone else, then we have to be the best that we can be for ourselves!

Take time for yourself, give yourself a a small gift everyday (even if it just the gift of time)RE-learn what it is that really makes us feel happy and for-filled(sp)
I mean us as individuals not us as wives or mothers.

Be Brave!! rediscover you!!!

We are not and do not have to be superwomen!!The world and our family's will not fall apart if we start taking care of ourselves properly in fact things could be a whole lot better.

I learned all this the hard way and maybe one day I will tell you my story.

But in the meantime just give it a go,take baby steps - they all add up!!!

maxybrown · 17/12/2010 09:45

heck, crying now.

maxybrown · 17/12/2010 10:05

I need to post a good "post" to that, as Basl, you have saved me today, really!

But have to go out soon -

Just one question - red & white stripes with dungarees or shirt and cardi?
