Hello and welcome.

OP posts:
nicolamumof3 · 16/08/2010 18:29

i didn't know you'd bought a p&t dunoon? missed that.

im selling nipper to local lady so no packing up makes it a v.easy sale!

now holidays...i said to dh i NEED a holiday so he's said to look for feb half term..but not sure where to go? Went fuerteventura feb 2009 found it bit cold but ok..everywhere seems £££££..suggestions please?

GeekOfTheWeek · 16/08/2010 18:38

Egypt nic. Should be warmer than canaries and you can get a 5* all inc for not too many ££.

Where is the nipper for 166?

I am not having the jane, finally met the seller on sunday and it won't fit in my boot Confused Glad though because it was in dreadful condition and i got oil all over my hands Angry

5inthebed · 16/08/2010 18:40

Newcastle is nice in Feb Nicola Wink

nicolamumof3 · 16/08/2010 18:57

that was lucky escape. Not sure on egypt some of the hotels have had awful reviews. im now thinking way forward to book flights and a villa or apartment seperately?

GeekOfTheWeek · 16/08/2010 19:36

I know loads that go to egypt and the hotels are beautiful. My sis went 4* and said it was much nicer than spain or greece. My friend went hurgarda in june and loved it. I can get hotel name if you like? Another friend who does luxury all the way (think buisness class, new york, carribean, maldives etc)swears by sharm every november Envy

Are you thinking canaries?

I am biased because I hate the canaries, I only seem to like greece Confused Personally I don't find the canaries hot enough.

BexieID · 16/08/2010 19:47

5in, have you taken sim card/battry out of phone and put it all in a bowl of rice?

nicola, toughie re: nipper. Sell the old to buy a new? Guess it depends if new ones have anything different on them.

BexieID · 16/08/2010 19:48

nicola, you need to go on a cruise!

5inthebed · 16/08/2010 19:55

Bowl of rice? Now that is interesting. Does it work? No rice in the house, I have pasta though Hmm

nicolamumof3 · 16/08/2010 19:55

no, cruise doesn't appeal at all!

geek i totally get what your saying would like some hotel names, but im thinking hotels now too pricey for us would be £2.5k plus and for a week in feb thats alot of money no hols cheap once you get into a family of five i suppose. Found flights to fuert for £1450 on easy jet, then can get our own apartment 3 bed for £300 that appeals more than a cramped hotel room.

I think i am going to sell the nipper only as its an easy sale tbh Blush i never use it.

BexieID · 16/08/2010 20:35

5in, the rice does work.

nicola, what about Balearics? DP and I have been to all the islands.

nicolamumof3 · 16/08/2010 20:37

yes i do love them wouldn't mind menorca wonder how warm/cold it would be tho? hmmm.

lillypie · 16/08/2010 20:50

Hi all I have had a busy day, done loads of washing because it was beautiful today but apparently it's going to rain all week now Sad

My Mum and Dad arrive from Australia on Thursday so I am getting very excited now Grin

Have a cottage in Cornwall booked for the last week in Sept so really looking forward to that.Real bargain to! Three double bedrooms, separate lounge and dining rooms both with real fires and enclosed garden all £195 + £25 booking fee.A few minutes walk to pub and shop.

It couldn't be called luxury but it is clean, warm and cute.We are taking my Mum and Dad,DS1 and his partner and Saiya my DGD so Issy will have someone to play with.

Basl I am glad you are feeling ok Grin I start my driving lessons at the beginning of Sept.I am really nervous but I tell myself if you can do it then so can I!!!

I am so glad you had a nice day today nic,I know you have been feeling a bit down.I think you should sell nipper and buy boots Grin

GeekOfTheWeek · 16/08/2010 20:54

It will be cold in feb. Even greece and turkey are not particularly sunny then.

Only options for sun are long haul, canaries, egypt or somewhere like cape verde.

1450 is a lot for flights, plus 300 accom, plus transfers and spends etc. You might find it cheaper to do a package. What dates are you looking at?

GeekOfTheWeek · 16/08/2010 20:57

Is it for a week nic?

Some hotels have 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms so not at all cramped for 5 of you.

How about gran canaria? Never been but my friend swears by it!

5inthebed · 16/08/2010 21:19

Sounds lovely lilly. How long is your mam stopping for, was it three months? tell erh to bring someof that lovely Australian sunshine with her please.

I'm so bloatd tonight. DH bought a cheeky takaway home and now I'm stuffed. Must get back on my diet!

basl · 16/08/2010 21:19

I love love love Tenerife. I have been many times now and they have spent a fortune doing it up on the promenade. We were there in Dec on year and it was nice and hot.

Fuertuventura does have the sea breeze alot so may be cooler.

Lillypie Smile you must be so looking forward to your parents coming and having that nice break in cornwall. Really nice.

Exactly about the driving lessons.Grin I have put this off for years and years because of nerves and i tell you if i can get in that car and drive of so can you. I feel sick before he arrives and tummy like a washing machine but when i am out it is ok. You can do it.Grin

Hiya Geek shame about the jane i think you should go get yourself a new nipper. How is your fil doing now and your dh.

My sister has had her op now and very drowsy but comfortable. Her poor kids are staying at gran jeans tonight and they both popped in to visit us after a visit and looked like they wanted to burst into tears. Hope they are ok tonight and my beautiful sister gets a decent sleep and is ok. She has been texting me all day right up to getting her gown on. So glad i have me phone now Smile

Fil ok now, hes home but must rest and starts physio in about 3 weeks. Dh has an appt at the hosp for mole removal at the end sept.

nicolamumof3 · 16/08/2010 21:36

Glad your sister doing well. Its still scary having anaesthetic always lovely when they come round. I remember boys having their gromets was so relieved to go down to recovery and hear that luka screaming place down!

lillypie you must be soooooo excited!

GeekOfTheWeek · 16/08/2010 21:36

Lily, your cottage sounds great Smile

5inthebed · 16/08/2010 21:52

Luka is so cute Nicola!

Shame it wasn't keyhol Basl as the recovery from the other kind takes a lot longer. I suppose its about the same as having a caesarian. Poor thing, hope she recovers well.

nicolamumof3 · 16/08/2010 22:18
