Hello and welcome.

OP posts:
GeekOfTheWeek · 18/07/2010 10:59

Hi all,

Carrie, the blooming gorgeous bag is lovely but quite big. I will take pictures for you and email them. It may take a while as i haven't figured how to send from new phone yet!

Whats everyone doing today?

I'm off into town to pick up the holiday tickets and change the currency. My gran is coming tomorrow to do all our holiday ironing

I'm not a mean, granny whipping slave driver btw. She demands to do it every year. She is 79, does voluntary work 4 days per week and jets off on holiday 'with the girls' regularly. She can also out shop me and my sister

basl · 18/07/2010 11:38

Geek i am not surprised you gran is like that. If she is anything like you then she will have tonns of get up n go. She sound fantastic what a woman. Good for her i say and such an inspiration.

Does granny do friends ironing too Oh and she should come to my birthday party!!!!

Children been to their fav day trip to the local tip I have had a clear out I am slowly understanding why crupm head gets all worked up when i buy more clothes. I think i have the buzz back for buying the kids clothes again and need to swot it. It should of been me that got new clothes.

Nice and sunny here today so we will be off out somewhere. Maxy i will send you some details tomorrow once i spoke to my driving instructor and i know what day i will be in.

FlyMeToDunoon · 18/07/2010 12:28

Hello.
I have had a good laugh reading through the last posts.
I forgot about my Next VIP slot but wasn't bothered as there never seems to be anything I want in the right sizes.
Sister, her husband and the dog are all away now and peace reigns as we are all knackered. DDs all full of doggy memories and DP and I slightly hungover.

Hi all, been up since 7.30 Why children always up early when its weekend, weekdays its mission to wake up and get dressed for school.

Anyway, i been baking all morning. We started with chocolate chip cookies, then baked seriously strong ginger biscuits for dh. And made chrunchy fruit cake for all.
Im so tired now. Im going to spend rest of the day reading my no brain needed chick-lit book.

Btw, dh and i took jigsaw puzzle very seriously stayed up till passed midnight

Maxy, i must agree with Basl, you do resemble that actress. I also think your dh must be related
to this man

basl · 18/07/2010 13:50

I like those kind of books Diva when no brain is required and can i thank you for spotting the similarity in Maxy pic with that hollywood star and can i also say i totally see where you are coming from with the pic of Gerard Butler. Maxy if your Dh grew a beard and James cut his fringe he would so look like Gerard. Maybe you could both earn a bit being looky liky's. Heeeee Heeeee

Maxy please don't fall out with me. I can't think what cybill's face looks like really it was your profile and does not look the slightest bit squashed in. Me on the other hand is def going to have a squished in face if i don't shut up about this eh?

Flyme glad you survived the visit and maybe things back to normal now? How are the girls after their little Barbie whacking incident??

maxybrown · 18/07/2010 13:54

hee hee I am never offended tis funny - esp Gerard Butler, wait til I show DH ha ha ha ha ha. If he lost weight - maybe, I can see what you mean.

Right, I desp need some pull on trousers for James, argh! Got rid of loads but now he's out of nappies had to get rid of other stuff I kept itms?

Can you tell I am panicking at camping for two weeks and needing enough clothes to see us through til we get to our friend?

basl · 18/07/2010 14:22

Maxy would James be too tall for those pull on boden jeans i got from you. I also have those next grey and navy pull ons, and is 18/24 mths too small?? as i have some next jeans pull on in that size.

If you let me know i will have a look at what we have. Would the dungarees be any good you gave to me now no nappy?

He is doing fantastic completely forgot all about that. Clever boy really good stuff James. xx

maxybrown · 18/07/2010 14:33

pull on Boden jeans? Hmm, confused about those....... which ones? have too many 18/24 is too small yes - well in the leg anyway! Shorts are fine though he seems to have plenty of shorts now basl - thank you though. I got him some 18/24 jeans from next in rib waist and they looke d abit silly. Didn't realise he had grown!

Dungarees - I have got rid of all of them as he is being very independant with going to the loo so want to encourage that as much as poss! Even wiped his own bottom yesterday so no dungies......sniff. Till I can teach him to manage them hee hee

nicolamumof3 · 18/07/2010 15:57

maxybrown · 18/07/2010 16:18

Glad you had a nice time, jammy thing. It's been a right old bloomin weekend here! be glad for Monday!

Nic you got any pull on trousers please?

FlyMeToDunoon · 18/07/2010 17:16

basl the girls have long ago moved onto the next feud and the next and the next.......
We went to a Mela in the park for a little while and they were very sweet sharing a strawberry milkshake though.

OP posts:
basl · 18/07/2010 18:10

Flyme what is Mela in the park? It sounds like they enjoyed that. The girls like to keep you on your toes by the sound of it. How old are they again?

Nicola i think you were a very good girl putting the next stuff back. You could probably sell big bags of stuff i would imagine .

Maxy i think you should re word your post for trousers something like

Any luck maxy on your trouser quest i am still going to look out the next stuff.

maxybrown · 18/07/2010 18:40

Basl did you mis words off that line then?

Divatheshopaholic · 18/07/2010 18:42

Maxy, i have couple of next trousers in 2-3, i might had some from you, brown check roll up is still brand new with tag
I actually have a few age 2 Gap jeans to sell, those ones i had from March 30%off offer.

Nicola, you are being seriously good, putting the next sale bargains back is courage.I went my re-scheduled Next vipsale slot and ordered loads for dh, and spent 210. Im quite sure half of them will go back, too

Basl, i like chick lits these days. Im reading Adele Parks "Love lies",although they all predictable i enjoy them all. Other day read Jodi Picoult "My sisters keeper" I cried loads, i kissed my children loads, too.
Im terribly emotional person, i often cry watching tv, films etc... last time when i cried my eyes out was i watched "Last Samurai" I felt so sad, it reminded me my roots, and where i came from. Sometimes i feel like nobody, no authenticity
Anyway, buffling now.

maxybrown · 18/07/2010 18:56

Oh Diva I understand where you are coming form - as much as I possibly can anyway.

Can you let me know what exactly you have diva please?

FlyMeToDunoon · 18/07/2010 21:20

Oh gosh Diva. Have a hug.

basl the mela was like a multi-cultural concert with dancers and singers from different backgrounds. Stalls selling curry and asian foods, henna tatooing and things like that.
I like crime fiction but not too gory. I do a chick lit every so often as it is nice to not have to concentrate too hard.

OP posts:
basl · 18/07/2010 23:07

Diva Diva Diva being emotional is a wonderful attribute and just shows what a gentle loving person you are. It makes me to hear you say you feel like a nobody when i clearly feel you are without a doubt a somebody that i regard highly. I have to say i would find it very interesting to hear all about where you came from and sure watching a film that reminds you will certainly pull the heart strings. Hugs from me also a fellow emotional person if you had not worked that one out for yourself lol

Flyme the mela sounds fantastic. I would love that especially all the different dancers. It takes me back to when i was dancing with the Zulu that visited us at chrismas [long story] and i was dancing with her. Oh and fancy being able to try out all the asian foods. Mmmmmmmmmm and Henna tatooing would be great. Sounds such a great event.

Maxy i think i was distracted and can't think what i was going to say. something stupid no doubt.

maxybrown · 18/07/2010 23:20

hee hee Basl. Am off to bed now so catch up with you tomorrow xxxx

basl · 18/07/2010 23:29

awww missed you maxy, never mind catch you tomorrow. xx

nicolamumof3 · 19/07/2010 02:47

here i am. i've been suffering! We got to the spa and i started with a horrible headache which turned into a migraine! Coincidentally i had my de-stress treatment. Therapist was really shocked at the state of my back and the amount of tension i have. I have finally realised i need to take stock sort my body and mind out. I need to be strong fit and healthy to support my family so need to put my physical and mental needs alot higher up. Going to look into starting some pilates classes as so enjoyed that when i did it several years ago. And generally just more me time. Obviously this will all have to start after the holidays so have to do what i can inbetween.

Seem to be suffering alot with migraines and its just not fair on everyone else as i can do nothing. Started on my beta blockers again which are a preventative. so finges crossed!

Maxy on your trouser quest..sorry i have nothing to go atm, luka has loads of room in the 2-3's he has, sorry

Diva yes i did feel very good putting all the stuff back!

maxybrown · 19/07/2010 07:17

You were up all night Nic? Poor you and migraines. Yak. I get very bad sinus headaches and they are the pits. I went through a stage of having a constant headache some years ago - though a bit tressed at the time funnily enough and it just crippled me. So Mrs - chill!!

Well I'm having Misdee's Nipper..........til MB available anyway hee hee. Be good to take on hols though as so light plus I might be able to squeeze the city mini in too hee hee. Already thinking where I can stash all of the wheels. DH WILL pass out I know it, at all the stuff. Well, we will be away for 3 weeks!

Right, off for a shower. All dishes done and things tidied as DH is still on the bus so up early!

lillypie · 19/07/2010 08:09

Morning lovely ladies

Diva I cry at everything too! It's really ok it's just part of who you are.You are not a nobody, you are at the top of my list of people I would love to meet!! I find you wise honourable and funny and exotic - so there

maxy I have never had a single nipper but I love my fixed wheel double so much that I can't let it go even though I really don't need it

nicola I hope you are feeling better today xx

I had a lovely day yesterday,DD and I had a very early mooch around the local carboot sale.I picked up a gorgeous practically new Oshkosh denim skirt and jacket and some next spotty tights for Issy for £1.30 and some bn sparkly flipflops for me for 50p.Then Issy got a cat in a carrier for 30p and a Rescuers Down Under film for 30p and had a bounce on the bouncy castle and we headed home.

Got home to find that Chris had got up and done all the cleaning so Issy watched her film in her room,Chris played a game downstairs and I had a precious hour reading in my room.

Then we went for a lovely drive through Cheddar and end up at the The Ship and Castle in Congresbury for a lovely Sunday dinner.

They had a Wurzels tribute band playing,Issy was watching and they called her over gave her a shaker and got her to dance. She loved being in the limelight. Then we sat in the garden to finish our drinks and Issy found an equally nutty three year old to run around with before we came home - lovely!

basl · 19/07/2010 08:34

Nicola glad you are going to take more care of yourself. I can't imagine what constant headaches must be like. We do need to force ourselves to do things for our selves like you say to be able to look after out families.
I nice lady i know said it was like on a flight when you get the talk about the oxygen maske dropping and how the adults must use it first before children. Now that is because as an adult/parent we need to be fit/well to look after the children..

lillypie that is a beautiful story to wake up and read. What a day out you had. Issy sounds so much like Olivia but a wee bit more confident shall wee say and i think she would bring her 5 year old friend out of her shell a bit , It's so nice to hear all about good times xxx

Oh Maxy you can get the gorg buggysnuggle blanket on that. It will look amazing as i know i tried mine on my sisters double nipper. Oh and i read an article last night about the best pushchair for walks and it was the instep nipper Taaa Daaaa...

lillypie · 19/07/2010 08:42

basl Isobel is really confident she will talk to and perform for ANYBODY.My Mum says I was exactly the same

maxy - Issy and Saiya all buggysnuggled up in the double nipper here

Divatheshopaholic · 19/07/2010 08:43
