Old home owners contacting me

I moved into my new house about 2 months ago and the sellers keep ringing me. First I had to arrange for collection of items that they said the delivery company left. Now a parcel turned up and they asked me to forward it on which I've done. But now it continues, there are items they think they left in the house that they want and also a shelving unit that's screwed to the wall. Where does it end.

I would stop replying, or send one reply saying that is enough now and everyone needs to move on. CFs.

Block them

They are CFs. It soubds like they were very awkward and created a lot of inconvenience for you so I wouldn't feel bad at all about saying no now.
As others have said, sale went through, fixtures and fittings included. They're lucky you didn't charge them a disposal fee for all the crap they left behind. I understand odd bits of post can slip through or an address can be default once or twice on various accounts etc but all of it and their contact needs to stop now.
I'd double check my legal position and then probably message them being clear it ends now. I'd make sure i'd changed any locks, got cameras etc.

Don't forward their mail, refuse any parcels. For any house contents tell them to go through their solicitor.
We had this from the woman we bought out house from. She told us she expected us to forward her mail (at our expense!) so I suggested she use the post office redirection service but she said she didn't want to pay for it! We put anything that came for her aside and eventually in the bin.

I suspect fraud

We've just had a second letter from a debt collecting agency relating to the previous owners from 4 years ago. Second time they've done this. Getting a violent rap on the door at 7am from a debt collector who looks like he is police without the branding was pretty frightening. I'm expecting another after the latest letter. They have been useless fuckwits and I thought after 4 years we were done but it seems not.

Call the estate agent who assisted with your purchase. Tell them you want them to inform the buyers estate agent and solicitor that they need to cease contact and get a mail forward.

You need to refuse their parcels and stop entertaining their calls.

@Gardenhabit we had similar when we moved into our current home. The owners emigrated but we kept getting post, that they’d arranged for a relative to collect. Except she had a similar name to me and one day I opened a letter by mistake thinking it was our council tax bill. It was their’s demanding 3 years of payments. From that point on I opened everything and rang each company explaining the situation. (Including a bill off BT with an itemised phone bill listing all the calls they’d made overseas, and were continuing to make, but it hadn’t flagged up with them they might not be at our address 🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️😂).
Then 12 months on bouncers turned up demanding access, bailiffs wanting to empty the house. Obviously I refused and explained the situation. But we kept getting letters and a couple more ‘visits’ for a few more years. Apparently the companies sell the debt on, to debt collecting agencies. There’s 7 years before the debt can be written off I think. Might have changed by now, but that’s what we were told then.

@daisydalrymple This current bill is from 2 the debt collectors are pursuing is from 2 years ago - 2 years after the sold their house and they still haven't informed the DVLA. We have had HMRC debt letters from their old business and from the idiots they sold their business to - who also did not inform HMRC.
We have called various companies passed on address info - it just seems never ending. Dh got address labels for their new house and put all the mail back in the post box - so they would have to pay for whatever mail arrived at their new house...that seemed to put a rocket up their arse for a while. Fundamentally I don't think they are bad people, they are just extremely disorganised.

When we left our old flat my daughter wrote a note to the new tenants to please check on her woodlouse colony that lived under the big stone in the back garden 🫣

We had this but we just told them where he lived. He just moved down the road 🙄

I would have thought they should be going through their solicitor since the house is now yours. Their incompetence is not your problem and you have demonstrated plenty of goodwill (more than many would have done).

Legally anything left in the house belongs to you know.
You could message them and say there are no more of their belongings in the house and ask them to set up re deliver themselves as you are unable to continue to forward any parcels. Re the shelving tell them it was sold as part of the house sale and they should contact their solicitor if they think it shouldn't have been .
They are very cheeky to continue to bother you like this and you have been very patient

Tell them to speak to their solicitor by way of contacting you…….they'll have to pay them for every letter and phone call……that should do it!

It ends when you block them, I had this with previous owners. They needed extra time to move I gave them months I totally understood how difficult it was to find a place , no problem with that . They left the house in a filthy state , OK they were aging they also left a lot of rubbish , also OK I hired a skip. They left a container which had to be moved by a truck to there new location, fine. They turned up early on the day of no notice , kids up early let me know so I could get up . Inconvenient but I was glad to get rid of the container, it took up a lot of space . Then they turned up a further couple of times a few months after to ask for plants from the garden and other items but they just turn up and walk around my garden with no notice , I would just see them outside my back door . I blocked them at the last occasion so I couldn't be contacted to ask for anything else.

Take the upper hand OP and start annoying them until they block your number instead.
Some suggestions;
You saw a fox in the garden - is this normal?
The front door won’t open is there a knack to it? False alarm! You were using the wrong key. When is bin day? You’ve forgotten. Again.
A leaflet for the local takeaway has come through the door. Is it for them? You don’t like fast food so it can’t be for you…

Just block them and refuse delivery of/return any future parcels, mark all mail 'not known at this address' and pop back in the postbox.

The buyers of our last house contacted us 6 years after we moved to have a whine about a leak that'd started that they couldn't find the source of, what did we know about it? FFS it's been your house for 6 years mate!!

Also agree with changing the locks. They sound totally unhinged.

When my DS and DBIL bought their last house the Som of the previous owner kept contacting them with stupid reasons to want to come around after they’d moved in. They said no and on the their request they blocked him.

Have you brought the house or renting fromthd old owners?
