What do you make of this house?

I kind of like bits of it - the pink bannisters, beautiful cornicing/ceiling roses, amazing exterior, but other bits are a bit too much of a modern mishmash.

It's interior designed ( obviously), and the price for the area is very toppy.

Just wondering what anyone else thinks.

Not my taste as such, but it's beautifully done!

pinklemonsparkle · 09/10/2024 16:13

The playroom is beautiful.. mind you can't imagine it staying that immaculate for long with real children playing in it!

I surprise myself and actually rather like it.

I like a mix of styles. Houses evolve over time. I don't like them being treated like museums where all the style has to be 'authentic' to a particular period.

JennyForeigner · 09/10/2024 16:14

I really dislike it. Just wrong for the house - very interior design masters and not in a final three kind of way.

Manypaws · 09/10/2024 16:15

Think it looks like a family centre

ComtesseDeSpair · 09/10/2024 16:15

Around the corner from me, I know the owners. I love it, but I’d say to their face that they’re going to struggle to sell it at that price. The ‘hood is nice but the market for properties of that size at that price when the Dulwiches are its rivals is very small.

Wentie · 09/10/2024 16:16

i absolutely hate the curved blue kitchen cabinets and the blue bath.

I think alot of the original features are beautiful. Alot of the style is furniture and could easily be removed or put back.

Mickey79 · 09/10/2024 16:17

I love it. I’d move in tomorrow and the only thing I’d change would be the colour of the staircase.

pinklemonsparkle · 09/10/2024 16:18

@ComtesseDeSpair what was the house like before the renovation, or did they buy a project to do up?

It doesn't look like anybody actually lives there! 😳

It looks like a dolls house but quite like it.

sweetpickle2 · 09/10/2024 16:18

I like it, but it'll all age very quickly- not something I am normally bothered about as I think you should have what you like and not worry about trends, but presumably everything would be very expensive to replace.

overmydeadbody · 09/10/2024 16:19

It's lovely, so nice to see a house designed with creativity, so many houses are so boring

I wouldn't choose everything they the house had, but I'd have a lot of it!!

Love the kitchen and the curved cupboards!!!

Andoutcomethewolves · 09/10/2024 16:21

It's nicely done but definitely not what I'd go for if I had that budget!

Tabitha005 · 09/10/2024 16:25

I say, a pound to a pinch of shit that whoever buys it is going to rip out most of the fitted furniture, including the kitchen, and do something different. It looks like an edition of 'Living etc' by numbers. Not for me at all. Cold and impersonal and looks like a stage set.

krustykittens · 09/10/2024 16:26

While it has been very nicely done, it does look like it has been done for a photo shoot and no one actually lives there! I love the extension, though, it seems like they have poured money into making it a beautiful place.

playingatlife · 09/10/2024 16:27

I absolutely adore it!

UltramarineViolet · 09/10/2024 16:28

I don't hate it and in some ways the pink and blue is a refreshing change from grey but I'm not a fan of having a whole house decorated in the same colour palate

The green bedroom is my favourite!

Poggishairtufts · 09/10/2024 16:29

I think it would have been bang on trend about 7 years ago. It's very very styled.

pinklemonsparkle · 09/10/2024 16:31

My decor taste is very colourful/ merge of traditional and modern. So I'm always drawn to anything a bit unusual.

It is a stunning house in terms of the architecture.

The blue kitchen made me think of coffins 😬

Justleaveitblankthen · 09/10/2024 16:31

kitchen cupboards

PicturePlace · 09/10/2024 16:32

I love it!

Apart from the stupid playhouse, which is poorly placed in front of the window and looks ridiculous from the outside.

ZanzibarIsland · 09/10/2024 16:32

I think it's great. Very attractive facade and so spacious. Once the owners took all their stuff with them I wouldn't be in a rush to redecorate, even though it might not always be what I'd have chosen. Nothing too hideous though.

PicturePlace · 09/10/2024 16:32

The kitchen and bathrooms, in particular, are ace.

pinklemonsparkle · 09/10/2024 16:33

The cornicing in the front room is stunning 😍
