How many weeks were you on the market and how many viewings before you got an offer?

We've been on 2 weeks, 5 viewings (no offers) and have a further 2 viewings on Saturday

Feeling disheartened because we've seen a property we like but we're not proceedable yet and I'm worried it's going to get snapped up.

Twelve views in two weeks, one offer. Sadly all fell through before exchange so we’re staying put.

Sweetcheesecake · 08/07/2024 18:55

6 months, 10 viewings, 3 offers all below asking price.
It didn’t go how I expected, thought it would have been easier. We were competitively priced too - all houses in our area in similar condition sell for 30k + more than we were listed for.

ClonedSquare · 08/07/2024 19:12

We've been on six months. I think we're at 8 viewings or so, and no offers. The market round here is completely stagnant, most properties have been on for a similar time. They do tend to sell for asking price eventually, it's just a lack of buyers around since it's a pricey area and people can get more for their money in less nice areas relatively close by.

ForSale2024 · 08/07/2024 19:17

Following. We’ve been on for a week and had 2 viewings. No feedback from those viewings, and no further viewings booked in though. I think selling our house is going to take ages which is such a shame because we’ve found a house we would love to offer on.

Such a shit market at the moment. Good luck to everyone!

BG2015 · 08/07/2024 19:24

Went up for sale mid January, three viewings. Third person offered on 14th February and they moved in on the 28th May.

Hopefullymovinghouse · 08/07/2024 19:26

10 months, 3 viewings and about 6 weeks until we got an offer. It fell through very close to exchange so that set us back another 3 months. Good luck. Moving house is hideous!

INeedAnotherName · 08/07/2024 19:37

On one week, 13 viewings. Four offers so went immediately to final offer. Houses that are reasonably priced go very quickly here as they are solid houses. The house up the road sold before the For Sale board went up! The two that were (I thought) overpriced are still for sale 4 months later despite being beautifully done inside.

Stressedoutforever · 08/07/2024 19:40

4 days, 4 viewings booked only 1 wasn't cancelled. They offered over asking. Had 3 more viewings booked

winewolfhowls · 08/07/2024 19:52

End of Feb, put on RM on front, five viewings on sat, then mon an offer at asking price which we accepted. It does help we are very much a FTB Low end of market small house. We however have only just got an offer accepted on an onward purchase, nothing on the market on the three bed semi side of things around here.

BirthdayRainbow · 08/07/2024 19:55

Day we went on I had a viewing booked for four days later. Then another viewing a week later with an offer six days after that. Another viewing in three days time was booked today. Total on market so far 2 weeks six days.

I forgot we had another viewing booked but they drove by and cancelled as there are no shops within five minutes of walking🙄.

Jellybean85 · 08/07/2024 19:55

Went on wan of May, 9 viewings, 3 offers. Last one at asking price so happy so far. Waiting to see if there's movement after survey. Would be prepared to drop up to £5k if needed to get it through

TheRoseTurtle · 08/07/2024 20:01

9 weeks, 7 viewings, no offers.

coolpineapple1 · 08/07/2024 20:04

First listed May 2023 and was for 6 weeks about 10 viewings and no offers, so took the house off the market.
Listed again early January 2024, made no changes and same price, had 3 viewings and sold within 3 days.
No much is moving though around here now, lots coming on the market though.

mumdone · 08/07/2024 20:17

we discreetly marketed and sold to the second couple that came. It fell through so we put it on RM probably 7 viewings but most were not in a position to proceed. Took it off and we had a call from the EA to see if we would mind another viewing and we had an offer

Abaracadabara · 08/07/2024 20:19

Been on since end of May. Had to reduce the price twice so far, only after the second reduction have we had an influx in viewings (16 total) and 2 upcoming. No offers so far but we do have a second viewing booked this week so I'm hopeful. But really really disheartened. The estate agent seems to have really overpriced it and that combined with things taking longer to sell is not a good combination. I'm thinking we will have to drop again as we really do want to sell ASAP! Offered on another house we love as well but aren't proceedable so wasn't accepted obviously.

Rycbar · 08/07/2024 20:22

We had fifteen viewings and two offers. We were in the market for about 2 months.
The market is awful at the moment - the houses where we are normally well within weeks so it was unusual ours didn’t (and it’s a lovely house!)

Peoneve · 08/07/2024 20:26

Listed Saturday at 10pm ( I know- odd agent as closed on Sunday)
First viewings Monday- then Tues , Wed
tentative offer on Wednesday - not sold
Firm offers on Saturday- one in rented and totally proceedable. All at asking- agent wanted to push to sealed but I would rather a strong chain free buyer.

DisforDarkChocolate · 08/07/2024 20:30

Gosh this is making me nervous! He hope to be on the market in a couple of weeks.

We're at the lower end of the market where we live and most in this price bracket go quickly because there is so little choice.

Teacherprebaby · 08/07/2024 20:36

2 weeks! Mine took 6 months to sell but I got over asking so pretty happy. You need to realise it's going to take a while!

PlantEnthusiast · 08/07/2024 21:07

Put on the market in Jan, had an open day with around 25 viewings. We went to best and final with 9 people offering. Set to exchange next month!

MumofSpud · 08/07/2024 21:11

We were on 2 weeks and got an offer £35,000 under asking price
Got them to come back with another offer and they did, which we accepted
It's taking absolutely ages though - this was all in March !

helloyoutoo8 · 08/07/2024 21:37

Been on 2 weeks with 1viewing (before officially was on Rightmove) then a cancelled viewing. Really really disheartening as everyone keeps saying it will sell quickly, but with no viewings it's not hopeful!

dubmimi · 08/07/2024 21:37

Went on sale in March, a previous customer of estate agent asked to see it before anyone. He offered 40k above our asking to keep it off the market. Cash buyer. This was in March & from a few months for everything to go through but finally done & dusted!
I know how super lucky we were.

BirthdayRainbow · 08/07/2024 21:40

I know I've suggested this before and had no takers but does anyone want to post where they are selling and where they want to move to? It would be amazing if we had a sale!

cathyburke · 08/07/2024 22:35

Went on the market in March, 32 viewings and one offer that we accepted a couple of weeks ago. Number of viewings was ridiculous!
