We've got an edwardian narrow cupboard with a shelf inside. The shelf has dog poo bags, dog treats and a square basket for hats, gloves and scarves. Under the shelf has wellies, walking boots and a bag of wild bird seed.
On top is a wooden bowl for keys, a vase that may or may not have flowers in it, a glass bowl with some crystals to attract money and luck into the house (well you never know). The post also gets put there.
At the end there are some brass hooks for the dog leads.
Above it is a large mirror to make the hall a bit lighter and bigger, and to check your teeth for spinach before you leave the house.
Opposite the cupboard is a bentwood hat stand for coats and umbrellas.
There is a rug which when the doorbell goes or the post comes, the dog hits at speed and propels himself into the door in a ball of fur and fury. (All mouth and trousers, tbh, but he is a good deterrent to unwanted visitors)
And that's it. Not much room for anything else. Oh there is also a lavender plug in air freshener, in a vain attempt to stop the house smelling like a dogs home, which of course, it is.
