Peak luxury in a property

What would you consider 'luxury' that you would love to have in your house?

For me it would be a seating area in the house where there is no TV. It is purely for chatting/reading. A TV room would be in addition to rather than instead of.

Also a walk in pantry😍

I suppose you could be ridiculous in this thread and say helipad but a bit pointless if you don't have a helicopter in the first place!!

What would you love to have in your home?

a utility room with a huge drying rack

Hollyhead · 02/04/2024 16:32

2 living rooms, a kitchen diner and an ensuite to the main bedroom.

a utility room with a huge drying rack

You beat me to it @NotFastButFurious , that would be my 1st choice too. Followed closely by an extra bedroom or garage to use as a gym.

Tatas · 02/04/2024 16:38

A wet bar in the master bedroom - it's my absolute dream! Would use it for morning coffees and evening iced water, I'd love it. One day I will have it!

queenofthewild · 02/04/2024 16:44

A music room, a utility room and a study.

Although right now I'd settle for more than one loo.

Tootytoot78 · 02/04/2024 16:52

I saw on a reel an appliance garage. Obviously you have to have a huge kitchen, basically under the kitchen wall cupboard a matching door is installed that works like an up and over garage door.

Toaster, air fryer, blender etc are placed on the worktop the door is pulled down and everything is hidden away, but still accessible.

Genius and mind blowing (to me anyhow)

midgetastic · 02/04/2024 16:53

A fireman's pole to go downstairs somehow

Lalalalalabambaa · 02/04/2024 16:54

Two ovens, underfloor heating and a swimming pool

PotatoPudding · 02/04/2024 16:55

A shower that has one of those inset type things to put your bottles on. Also, a power shower would be lush.

Tulipvase · 02/04/2024 16:55

i would say a drying room too. And probably a downstairs loo. I know it’s not exactly luxurious but our house, terraced 1860s, just doesn’t have the space currently. We have put in a 2 bed loft conversion with en-suite.

Nevermindtheteacaps · 02/04/2024 16:56

I just moved from a small 3 bed (technically 4 as had a loft conversion but the foot print was very much a 3 bed) to a 4 bed, 2 bath.

I wanted

  1. Not a corridor living room
  2. Proper hall way
  3. Kids bathroom
  4. Utility room
  5. Ample storage

Got all these things and it really feels peal luxury,

NigelHarmansNewWife · 02/04/2024 16:56

A spa - I don't mean a jacuzzi or hot tub - a proper series of different spa rooms where yo u can have treatments and relax.
Staff including a housekeeper.
A fully equipped home gym.

slippedonabanana · 02/04/2024 16:59

Every bedroom has an ensuite.
Minimum of two sitting rooms and two offices.
Very large windows and French doors (no silders or bifolds!).
Huge kitchen with mix of antique pieces and DeVol cabinets.
Large private garden with mature trees.

SuncreamAndIceCream · 02/04/2024 17:03

A home gym instead of a few weights and a fold up turbo trainer stashed in the spare room

Big fold down drying racks in the utility room (the utility room is an upgrade to our last house but there's weirdly no room for an airer)

A sauna in the back garden.

fatbottomgirl67 · 02/04/2024 17:05

A wet dog room ( as well as a utility room) and a walk in pantry
Bliss

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 02/04/2024 17:07

I have a tiny, and very inconvenient house, so luxury for me would be what a lot of people would consider essential! A power shower, an upstairs bathroom, off road parking, a hallway...

I should add that I love my little house, just as it is! You adapt...

Runnerduck34 · 02/04/2024 17:08

A boot room
A walk in pantry
A second bathroom
A guest room

Hatty65 · 02/04/2024 17:09

I would love a walk in pantry. I can't think of anything else much that I'd like.

NoisySnail · 02/04/2024 17:09

One of those enormous walk in wardrobes/clothes rooms you see in celebrity houses.

Norhymeorreason · 02/04/2024 17:09

A library 😍 Just needs a spare room but unfortunately we don't have one!

Saschka · 02/04/2024 17:11

A pool. A small, outdoor one would be fine, I’m not greedy. But that would be my total dream.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 02/04/2024 17:14

I like the utility room, gym and walk in wardobe ideas and my ideal house would have all of them - along with a shepherd's hut in the garden as a retreat -but my idea of the ultimate luxury is a flower room. A room just for arranging flowers.

Toddlerteaplease · 02/04/2024 17:32

A utility room and walk in wardrobe.

GasPanic · 02/04/2024 17:49

A rubbish chute in the ceiling so I can send rubbish down direct to the outside bin.

TBH I could probably open a window and just lob it out but it might hit the car.

LuxuryWoman2020 · 02/04/2024 17:57

A large utility room with two washing machines and a launderette sized dryer.

A towel warming drawer in the bathroom.
