found this property on the Rightmove Android app and wanted you to see it: www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/145090202 Oh my eyes

Apart from the kitchen cupboard doors which could be easily dealt with, I like it. They have the same duvet cover as me. 😂

Gettingbysomehow · 26/02/2024 18:18

They don't neutralise anything round here (somerset) or do anything to the house the whole time they are there. Guaranteed you will have to refurb the whole place.

Movinghouseatlast · 26/02/2024 18:22

It's lovely! It has personality. Do you just like grey or beige maybe?

Islandermummy · 26/02/2024 18:23

What a gorgeous flat.

For me there is less to change here than if it were grey throughout. Most of the wallpaper is in keeping with the property, though I think I'd change the geometric one.

Someone will fall in love with this!

easylikeasundaymorn · 26/02/2024 18:52

I can only assume you've not seen many houses in your life OP, or have some very boring friends and family if you think that very normal looking flat is 'sensory overload' and 'way too much colour and patterns without cohension,' (think you mean cohesion?). Pretty much all the walls are painted either white or cream, with neutral carpets ffs, you can't get more neutral than that. By the time of purchase all the owners fixtures/fittings would be gone, it would be the work of a long weekend to change the one wall of feature wallpaper per room, and repaint the kitchen cabinets to get you the boring and passe minimalist flat of your dreams.

WonderingWanda · 26/02/2024 18:53

I think it looks really nice. I hate the orange but it wouldn't stop me viewing it and Nissan easily fixed. I think the rest is fairly inoffensive and quite plain.

DanglingMod · 26/02/2024 18:59

That kitchen is a beaut! Much nicer than grey

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 26/02/2024 19:11

That kitchen is GLORIOUS. The rest of it is a bit meh as far as I'm concerned, but if I were looking, that kitchen would go a good way to swing a decision!

Floatinginvacherin · 26/02/2024 19:13

The kitchen cupboards are pretty much the colour I want mine.

I’m going to save the photo of that kitchen for my next kitchen, I think it’s amazing

Maireas · 26/02/2024 19:18

Yes, those kitchen cupboards are a gorgeous colour.
I think this thread is definitely driving interest for the property. People were expecting something awful, instead - it's lovely!

PuttingDownRoots · 26/02/2024 19:19

Maybe looking new builds OP.

CutthroatDruTheViolent · 26/02/2024 19:26

I like it. I'd much rather see a house with personality than a drab magnolia everywhere type home. Colour, photos, decorations - they all say to me "we've been happy here". Bland and all personality put away is off-putting.

But I know that most people don't seem to have an imagination in homes that are not decorated to their own personal taste.

choccytime · 26/02/2024 19:34

I absolutely love that , and the chest of drawers with the leaf patterns on , lovely

EveryOtherNameTaken · 26/02/2024 19:34

That bath's like a coffin!!

Apart from making that a walk in shower I think the flat looks really cosy.

Mustreadabook · 26/02/2024 19:35

It’s gorgeous! I’d buy it for the wall paper. And I’d never dare decorate a kitchen like that but I’d certainly keep it when someone has already been brave enough to make it work.

Totally! The ubiquitous grey carpets, stupid signs saying ‘Love’ or ‘Prosecco’, the formulaic kitchens and living rooms, the total blandness of most houses does my head in.

AmethystSparkles · 26/02/2024 19:35

I like it and would probably keep the decor pretty much as it is but add a few bits to make it more ‘me’. I’d probably change the kitchen cupboards but I don’t hate them.

Imonthebloodyphone · 26/02/2024 19:39

The kitchen is my favourite thing about that house!

Slanabhaile · 26/02/2024 19:42

I really love it, even the kitchen 😍
If you want a sensory overload op, there's plenty others that are a lot more colourful!

Imustgoforarun · 26/02/2024 19:43

What a beautiful flat. I love the decor - much nicer than cream and grey.

Lifebeganat50 · 26/02/2024 19:43

I’ve looked at all the photos and can’t find the ones you and your dh are offended by @Milkasheika

I get the feeling I’d have sensory under load with your home choices!

ClutchingOurBananas · 26/02/2024 19:43

I as expecting something completely different from your ‘my eyes’ description.

I do have questions about the bath though.

Yes, my first thought was to change that into a walk in shower.

Also, I have a question about the "box room" off the lounge - what is that? Is it a bedroom?
A box room here would usually be the smallest bedroom in the house, but in Scotland maybe it's a room for boxes?

Chewbecca · 26/02/2024 19:48

I think it is a marvellous flat, spacious, characterful, central location. I would never get in / out of that bath though.
