found this property on the Rightmove Android app and wanted you to see it: www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/145090202 Oh my eyes

I love it! What a gorgeous property.
Did you link the correct one?
I could easily live with that - I couldn't live with grey.

StaunchMomma · 26/02/2024 17:10

I think you're being hugely dramatic.

Most people re-decorate to their tastes. I personally ate viewing cream or grey boxes. No personality.

housethatbuiltme · 26/02/2024 17:13

whats wrong with it. Not everything has to be grey or white, colours and patterns are allowed and its done pretty tastefully (might not be YOUR taste but that doesn't mean its wrong).

I am amazed by the bath though. Creative solution to a problem I guess.

Maireas · 26/02/2024 17:16

I wonder as pp have said - so many people living with that hideous grey everywhere has made them frightened of a little bit of colour?
Like underground creatures blinking into the sunlight!

Midwinter91 · 26/02/2024 17:26

Neutral decor isn’t fashionable now

Milkasheika · 26/02/2024 17:30

Nice bit of advertising, OP. YOUR flat is lush. Happy selling 🤫😉
Definitely not mine. For me it's sensory overload and way too much colour and pattern without cohension. My DH noted there's a wood burner which he could stuff with the chopped up kitchen cabinets and light.

Probably easier to paint them...tell me not grey!

arejcenencehche3uh9f3 · 26/02/2024 17:37

I must be an oddball; I don't mind the kitchen unit colours (wouldn't have chosen them but would keep them) but I hate subway tiles, especially white ones with dark grout.

The rest I can't get too bothered about. It's a lovely flat and I'd buy it if I needed somewhere in Edinburgh and was able to somersault out of a wet bath without breaking my neck.

FuzzyManul · 26/02/2024 17:37

@FuzzyManula communal garden is not going to surprise anyone flat-hunting in Edinburgh though? Or do you mean you dislike this one in particular?

As a general rule, I don't like communal gardens. There is nothing offensive about the garden in that estate listing.

Meadowfinch · 26/02/2024 17:39

I love it. The geometric blue bedroom isn't to my taste but otherwise, it's lovely.

To cover it in magnolia would be a crime. And it's a million times better than floor to ceiling grey.

Hoosemover · 26/02/2024 17:40

I more surprised about pink entrance door…the council came down on a residence in New Town for an odd choice of door.

the bath would be more of a concern for me. The kitchen cabinets are possible paintable, so easy a fix.

BoobyDazzler · 26/02/2024 17:41

It’s completely gorgeous!!

candycane222 · 26/02/2024 17:45

Bloody gorgeous I reckon 😃😃

Floatinginvacherin · 26/02/2024 17:45

I love it. I even like the bath; I lived in a student rental years ago with something very similar and it was gloriously womb-like.

AsTheyPulledYouOutOfTheOxygenTent · 26/02/2024 17:46

You should see the house my DM just moved into. Blingier than a kleptomaniac magpie's hen do.

Quick call to local decorator, three gallons of Farrow and Ball and a trip to the charity shop to offload the chandeliers and it's like it had always been beige.

Redglitter · 26/02/2024 17:48

I think its lovely. I'd get the kitchen doors wrapped but other than that I like it. Makes a pleasant change from the usual bland greys

pinkspeakers · 26/02/2024 17:48

What's wrong with it? Hardly extreme decor, or horribly cluttered/personal. I think the worst part of the decor for me is possibly the "neutral" grey carpets. Though I wouldn't suggest they change them!

Norhymeorreason · 26/02/2024 17:48

It's really lovely. Beautiful proportions and period features. I bet it will sell quickly.

Thats exactly what I thought too 😂😂😂

WetBandits · 26/02/2024 17:50

The bath is bonkers but the rest is perfectly fine.

I absolutely love the yellow zebra wallpaper, so much so that I’ve gone hunting for it as I want it for my downstairs toilet!

NewYearResolutions · 26/02/2024 17:52

I quite like this. Much prefer it to generic grey.

TheLambtonWorm · 26/02/2024 18:08

Literally nothing wrong with this. Why can't people also use their imagination, if you want magnolia or grey slathered on the walls then fine but do yourself? I'd be depressed if I had to paint over some of those lovely patterns and interesting colours even if I was moving out eventually.

Wow I though it was a creative way to drum up some interest in your flat, but it turns out you are just being nasty about someone else's home, and hoping people would join in. Very classy OP.

CormorantStrikesBack · 26/02/2024 18:13

I love it, the kitchen is amazing. There’s maybe one room where I’m not keen on the wallpaper (the blue diamond type one) but that’s easily changed.

i thought this was going to be about th8s house (though to be honest I quite like this one too). But the first isn’t a patch on this. https://www.tyla.com/life/fashion-woman-cant-sell-house-decorated-too-colourful-crazy-interiors-20200611

Woman Can't Sell Her House As The Decor Is 'Too Crazy'
