The lounge reminds me of something you'd see in a magazine at the time and the bathroom is the best I've ever seen. Every box ticked. I can't fathom how a lounge that big fits inside.

I love it, all that brown. I'm sure my parents had the striped brown curtains.

The bathroom is pure class.

I love the painting on the wall in pic 6 !!

DrySherry · 02/02/2024 05:27

The bathroom is 7ft by 10ft. Which is not small, but hardly large either. The agent has invested in one of those new fancy lenses I think...
They even note it at the end of the description :

"Note - All photographs are taken with a wide angle lens."

LittleMissCantBeArsed · 02/02/2024 06:00

That's just down the road from me! Shocked at the price given the area.

Purplecatshopaholic · 02/02/2024 06:14

Wowsers! Errr, not for me, lol, but that bathroom rocks! Loving the wheels outside too!

Funderthighs · 02/02/2024 06:35

It’s just so dark. I’d feel like the ceilings were going to come down and crush me.

ArchetypalBusyMum · 02/02/2024 06:45

Wow! That was a treat.
@LittleMissCantBeArsed I'm guessing the price is high? Maybe it's being sold with potential to be hired as a film set 🤔🤣

shearwater2 · 02/02/2024 06:47

I actually like it a lot more than most white walled, grey carpeted modern refurbs.

MorrisZapp · 02/02/2024 06:58

Well I did not expect that! Oh god it looks so cooooold though. Tiles and gates everywhere, and those hard plastic curtains. Needs a big cosying up.

Buttheywereonlysatellites51 · 02/02/2024 07:01

That bathroom made my day 😂

Alchemistress · 02/02/2024 07:10

It looks a bit like a Spanish villa I stayed in in about 1994.

Those strip lights in the kitchen look a bit harsh.

So was I . Maybe it's got loads of land . Plus it's going to cost a fortune sorting that mess out .

Persipan · 02/02/2024 07:29

Estate agent photos are pretty much always taken with a wide angle lens because it's generally the only sensible way to get a picture where you can see the majority of the room, not just some random bit of a wall. That's not a new thing!

Re: the house, I'm saddened that the yellow toilet (which was presumably there originally) is no more.

RedVanYellowVan · 02/02/2024 07:32

That was a treat, so much character and love in there.

I sometimes browse through Rightmove to see if I can find a property with any character rather than a bland identikit grey box. I frequently fail.

Riverlee · 02/02/2024 07:39

I love the dining table and benches. Lovely cottage.

Maireas · 02/02/2024 07:42

That's actually a really great space, and not as 70s as I thought - no orange shag pile carpet, no brown bathroom suite. It needs a bit of updating, but you could create something really great.
I can't believe the price - you wouldn't get a three bed semi where I live for that price, and I'm in Yorkshire!

PinkEasterbunny · 02/02/2024 07:52

I’m thinking more of an 80s throw back than 70s? I dread to think how much it would cost to update ???

Mistymornin · 02/02/2024 07:57

I'll buy it, live in for a bit, throw a few 80's parties then renovate it 😃

mponder · 02/02/2024 07:57

When I think of 70s homes I see lots of brown and orange and swirly patterns.

OrlandointheWilderness · 02/02/2024 08:02

Hate the word, but that has potential to be really stunning.
Minus the brown.

NooNakedJacuzziness · 02/02/2024 08:04

Love it - so refreshing to see such character - especially like the leaping dolphins in the bathroom!

Hm yes ,the tiles remind me of on holiday.

Daffodilsandsunshine · 02/02/2024 08:10

A lot of updating needed (it's got a spanish villa vibe for sure) but plenty of space. A great project!
A builder will buy it, knock it down and put up 2 houses in that space.

DoctorMartin · 02/02/2024 08:17

Just went to see the film One Life at the cinema and it reminded me of Antony Hopkin's house in that which was a pure mid-80s period piece!

I agree.

The bathroom tiles, fitted bedroom cupboards and living room look 1980s.

The kitchen units look early 1990s.

SameSameButDeliverance · 02/02/2024 08:25

The sitting / dining room is stunning. What an incredible space.

I’d update the vast majority of it (with sympathy to the style) to add some warmth but that is an incredible ‘canvas’. Bathroom just needs the black tiles, flooring and bath etc changed to white.

Man, that sitting room 😍.
