The lounge reminds me of something you'd see in a magazine at the time and the bathroom is the best I've ever seen. Every box ticked. I can't fathom how a lounge that big fits inside.

I kind of love it! It’s sad though, shows how short life is - people who have had a stylish mid life then off to death or care home. Will be us with our shiny kitchen etc etc next!

olderbutwiser · 02/02/2024 08:33

Thank you, you’ve made my day. I’m old enough to see this as a breathtaking example of chic and style. I have a matching coat in my treasure clothes store.

i think the price is because they’ve hacked off a bit of jungle and designated it as a building plot.

girlwhowearsglasses · 02/02/2024 08:39

The bones of this house are a really lovely spacious modernist vill. With a bit of woodland! I’d jump at it.

if you don’t see it check out themodernhouse to see similar that have been sorted and come out the other end.

Photos make it look dark but those ceilings are Hollywood!

joyous!!

aitchteeaitch · 02/02/2024 10:00

The garden is a delight 😂

NewFriendlyLadybird · 02/02/2024 10:11

That’s a Bond villain’s bathroom, isn’t it?

Dreamweaving · 02/02/2024 10:24

I love this, to me the styling is American ranch / western more than pure 70’s. Yeehaa I wish this was in Yorkshire !

longtompot · 02/02/2024 10:33

I think it's got really good bones and could be an amazing house

PudgeControlsTheWeather · 02/02/2024 10:34

I always love houses like that. They look like they've been lived in and loved well, and they'd have a nice atmosphere.

JaninaDuszejko · 02/02/2024 10:41

Fabulous house, bet there's been fab parties there back in the day. I hope someone who loves it buys it and restores it.

11NigelTufnel · 02/02/2024 11:06

I love it. Amazing ceilings and no grey in sight! Matching bidets would need to go.

Overtheatlantic · 02/02/2024 11:15

I kind of love it!

sweetpickle2 · 02/02/2024 11:21

I unironically love that!

FindingMeno · 02/02/2024 11:28

Absolutely gorgeous.
Sooo much potential.

DaveWatts · 02/02/2024 11:28

I love the wooden kitchen!

Aroundthewaygirl · 02/02/2024 11:45

I love it! I love the brown, so tired of seeing white everywhere. I like houses with character. With a few updates it would be perfect.

penjil · 02/02/2024 12:16

The photo of the height of the roof makes it look like a tall barn inside! Ridiculous!

WinkyTinky · 02/02/2024 12:27

I loooooove this kind of house! I live in one of the new towns from the 70s, and there are quite a lot of 'executive' houses that look like that, exposed brick and double height ceilings, lots of wood. And a bidet!!!!! I'd bloody love a bidet.

ArchetypalBusyMum · 02/02/2024 06:45

Wow! That was a treat.
@LittleMissCantBeArsed I'm guessing the price is high? Maybe it's being sold with potential to be hired as a film set 🤔🤣

It's very high! I live pretty close to a house recently used as a film set, funnily enough! 😂

Reugny · 02/02/2024 08:23

I agree.

The bathroom tiles, fitted bedroom cupboards and living room look 1980s.

The kitchen units look early 1990s.

My parents had pretty much the exact same kitchen in the early 80s - I think that style reigned for quite some time. If you go to the US, a surprising number of kitchens still look like that.

Maireas · 02/02/2024 07:42

That's actually a really great space, and not as 70s as I thought - no orange shag pile carpet, no brown bathroom suite. It needs a bit of updating, but you could create something really great.
I can't believe the price - you wouldn't get a three bed semi where I live for that price, and I'm in Yorkshire!

This is an area near me and I keep looking at it like "what a project..."

LindorDoubleChoc · 02/02/2024 14:22

Fantastic property! I absutely live it but imagine it must be hard to heat that main living room.

The mind boggles at some of the EA photos though. I'm not really sure photo 18 is adding much?

MrsWhattery · 02/02/2024 14:31

Wow it’s amazing. That living space is so cool and reminds me of when (in the actual 70s) we used to go and stay with my mum’s friends who had a big barn conversion. Also in wales in fact. I’d love a house like that 😍

ChiefWiggumsBoy · 02/02/2024 14:48

DrySherry · 02/02/2024 05:27

The bathroom is 7ft by 10ft. Which is not small, but hardly large either. The agent has invested in one of those new fancy lenses I think...
They even note it at the end of the description :

"Note - All photographs are taken with a wide angle lens."

You must live in a mansion. By bathroom is about 5ft by 6ft.

Longwhiskers · 02/02/2024 14:53

Fabulous! I wonder when bidets went out of fashion.

MrsWhattery · 02/02/2024 15:26

I'd also consider a 7 x 10ft bathroom luxuriously large!
