Utility room. Previous owners extended in such a way that we have a huuuuuge kitchen but no utility and a tiny downstairs loo, it’s a bit odd. Trying to convince DH it’s worth the effort to build some internal walls to get a utility/downstairs loo!

We're renting but I'd love to be able to fit a proper door between the garage and kitchen, the draught is freezing and costs us a lot in heating.

More walls as the downstairs is open plan and it's so cold and hard to heat.

A more efficient boiler, ours is more than 15 years old.

I'd love to be allowed to paint the walls.

And a sofa.

I know what you mean by open plan been hard to heat .
I also rent so cant build the walls back in place but with two rooms knocked into one and open stairs the only warm place is about half way up the stairs 🙁.

You should be able to decorate tho ,as long as you 'make good' / repaint neutral before you leave.

Tidiness and order
I'm happy with the space in my home ... just not the piles of clothes and crap that everyone including me occassionally dumps everywhere and apparently doesn't notice!!

Porch with a fancy shoe/bench/coathanger thing.

I don't have a porch but I have a coat stand very similar to this in a alcove. It keeps things much tidier.

Would that work for you ?

A shower
A well trained dog that can be left on its own 10 hrs per day and occasional overnight. ( oh hang on , I have one of them but he identifies as a cat )

@ScottBakula that's the exact type of thing...still need that porch though! Only have door space and radiator space, so nowhere in the hallway for it. Plus the clutter would drive me mad. It needs a porch to be hidden in 😂

A bath (only have shower) so I'm currently at mils in her bath!!

She's a good soul tho and doesn't mind

A wood burner which would be useless as our house is super insulated, so we would have to open all the windows once we lit it!

A hot tub (that might do in lieu of the bath?)

An extra bedroom for when one of us isn't well and wants to sleep on our own.

We are building a bigger house eventually so all these things will be on my list!

I'd love a door in the hallway, so in the winter it'll stop the house getting cold when the front door is opened.
