Somewhere far north, Norway or Finland

AcclimDD · 23/07/2023 20:24

Dartmouth or Exmouth

Fréjus

Me too, we're going there again in just over two weeks and it's my favourite place. I've studied, worked and holidayed across France and it's my absolute home from home.

Icequeen01 · 23/07/2023 20:33

Somewhere in the Cotswolds. I love visiting although would probably get fed up of all the tourists!

Sewingdufus · 23/07/2023 20:35

By the beach, west Wales or south west England.

DaisyWaldron · 23/07/2023 20:37

Narbonne. Not too expensive and with very good public transport links to the parts of France and Spain where I have family, and good cycle routes to nice places nearby.

Houseplantmad · 23/07/2023 20:45

South bank with river view in London and south Wales coast.

heartofglass23 · 23/07/2023 21:01

London.

It's so good to visit but I wouldnt want to live there all the time.

Could access gigs, events, flights etc

I would have a first home in the Hebrides somewhere and be part of the community up there. Second home in St Pancras Chambers. Yes it will be a schlep to Euston for the sleeper but I'll cope 😁 and it's handy for the Eurostar.

Lykia · 23/07/2023 21:08

Valldemossa or Santanyi in Mallorca.

In the UK somewhere in North Norfolk.

I would not own a second home even if I could afford one. They are morally wrong when many people don't even have a first home, especially in rural/seaside areas.

Oh bore off! I can't afford a first home but I don't begrudge those that have a second home. Good job really because I'm living in one of those second homes atm

I have my eye on a adorable cottage in Lerryn, either that or a terrace on Cheyen walk, preferably with a turret 😁

BarelyLiterate · 23/07/2023 22:57

Cental London. Somewhere that’s not thronged with tourists with nice food shops & within 5 mins walk of a tube station. St John’s Wood? Sloane Square end of Chelsea?

IhearyouClemFandango · 23/07/2023 23:01

St. Mawes

Toobusytoocare · 23/07/2023 23:03

Cala Ferrera in Majorca.

Toobusytoocare · 23/07/2023 23:05

Am staying with a friend in Broadstairs and the view from her flat is amazing Yes would buy her flat in a heartbeat.

puffylovett · 23/07/2023 23:07

DH would buy a boat and sail around exotic places. I’d be happy in the hills or on the coast, somewhere with a beautiful view and fresh air.

A view of Viking Bay? A bit further up on the cliff and you can see France on a clear day.

User10932 · 23/07/2023 23:10

I’d like an apartment in Manhattan - close to Central Park and some cute coffee shops/ delis, but still close to night life, broadway and other entertainment and shopping.

Closer to home, probably Marbella or Bordeaux although very different vibes.

Cant choose one, need enough money for allllll the houses 😄

MrsSkylerWhite · 23/07/2023 23:12

Money no object, Carbis Bay.

SkiingIsHeaven · 23/07/2023 23:18

In a ski resort

ShakeYourFeathers · 23/07/2023 23:21

@MTGBTTATP we walk past that house quite regularly and we reckon it's been a holiday home in recent years ... before it was more homely with a boat in the garden and stuff.
and the basic interior and furniture sort of confirm that.

The garden is right on the coast path so very public but perfect for a bit of nosey as you walk past and daydreaming of living in the house.

Freetodowhatiwant · 24/07/2023 18:40

A terribly first world problem but we had a holiday home in the Med for a while, it was really lovely in many ways because it's near family and we had our own little community of friends there not to mention could leave our stuff and go over every school holiday. BUT it also did mean we didn't go anywhere else, so it limited us in that sense. Anyway it's gone now in the divorce so don't shout at me for second home thing.
