small flat in Bloomsbury, walking distance to British Museum, West End, go down for the weekend, in retirement spend weeks there…

DH left London in his early 30s and felt he never made the most of it and I’ve always wanted to try city living.

Or, house in Lake District….or around there…easy for us to reach. Love the Lakes. Again retirement plans.

or Granada, easy to get to and such a classy city.

Northumberland, by the sea.

Somewhere really lovely in France, with good wine, good food and pretty nature. No internet:) I get enough city life in my day-to-day.

I'd hypothetically buy a hypothetical holiday home right next to some of the pervious posters, and call it 'The Joyless Husk'.

Brittany( although I would get enormously fat on cheese and wine)or San Sebastian. Or possibly Corfu. Or the Italian Riviera. So hard to choose!

Its just I don't think I could decide where to purchase a second home, there are so many good places

France in the Alps during the first 3 weeks of July
Northern Spain
Northern Italy
Drive through to Southern Spain and get the ferry to Majorca
Greece
Portugals west coast
beautiful views and wonderful sunsets

Norfolk coast I think. I'd love to give a few family members a break. They could use it no charge.

Changed my mind I want this to be my first and second home!

I love a lot of places abroad but if I had a second home I'd want to be able to go there at weekends, so it needs to be within reasonable distance to London. Maybe Sandbanks, Swanage, Christchurch, Cotswolds. Too many places to choose from.

Cairo. I love the dry heat. I pass as a local after a week! never wanted to come home. So maybe I wouldn't keep a home here at all :)

Not for moral reasons but we like visiting loads of different places so we would rarely be going back to the same area.

And you get such a stellar view from way, way up there on your idiotically high horse. For the avoidance of doubt, no one on this thread is doing anything other thanSunday evening light fantasising.

I'd like a pastel-coloured house on an island in the Stockholm archipelago. Sandham might do.
