Did anyone show interest?
I've just gone live and I'm feeling a bit sick!

I’ve currently switched EA and went live on Friday. I’ve had a viewing Monday, and one yesterday. The market is very quiet at the moment 🤞🏼 Hoping it picks up because we’ve found our dream home 🥹 but can’t proceed with an offer until we have an offer on ours. Good luck.

Merrow · 28/06/2023 12:41

I'd assume people would get alerts at least daily and call tomorrow to arrange a viewing at the weekend

Threeladsandaweelassie · 28/06/2023 12:42

@Stresssy I'm in the same position! Good luck to you also! 💐

@Merrow I'm hoping so! 🙏🏼

@Threeladsandaweelassie i have everything crossed for you 🤞🏼

Loobydoobies · 28/06/2023 17:14

Enquiries came same day. Also got previous interest from the agents' own list.

Threeladsandaweelassie · 28/06/2023 17:16

It's been a few hours and not had anything yet.
Tough market to read I guess.
I'll see what happens and just be hopeful!

We went live at around 10am on a Saturday morning and about an hour later received a call from the agent to book in three viewings. Though this was in 2018, so I'd imagine things are very different now.

Threeladsandaweelassie · 28/06/2023 17:21

I just hope someone really lovely wants it. My neighbours are wonderful!

Give your agents some time :) They will be calling enquiries (and working out their position) and probably let you know when there is something that is likely to happen. Tons of people probably don't have the email alert yet either!

Thank you @Loobydoobies x

We went live on a Wednesday and told the estate agent we'd be happy to do an open day on the Saturday and they booked in 12 viewings for a 3 hour slot.

Threeladsandaweelassie · 28/06/2023 21:03

@december2020 did you get many offers? That is quite a lot of viewings!

OP posts:
december2020 · 28/06/2023 21:14

We got 2 on the Monday, one who sadly wasn't proceedable and another who was.
We accepted their offer and now in the enquiry process hoping everything goes to plan.

We found the open day worked well for us as most people had time off on Saturday, the estate agents could just freely book people within that day and time slot and it meant we could get the place spick and span once and get a lot of viewers in at one go (helped with trying to keep things tidy form toddler sticky hands).

Potaytoe5 · 28/06/2023 21:22

We've been on for a week and only had one viewing! Another one scheduled a viewing but never appeared, which was very annoying. I'm wondering whether I should be getting worried about lack of interest.

mobear · 28/06/2023 21:39

I had 3-4 viewings within the first week and sold for full asking price from one of those viewings. This was a couple of months ago.

RedBonnet · 28/06/2023 21:44

Two weeks and only 1 viewing from a tyre kicker (40k over his max) so we dropped the price today. EA wanted to drop by 5% but I thought that was too much to soon so they went for 2.5% drop

I have no idea if that's good or not, but 2 weeks seems a bit soon to drop 5%

Threeladsandaweelassie · 28/06/2023 21:47

It's such a turbulent market isn't he?
Good luck everyone!
If I don't sell I think I'll be looking at a loft conversion in a few years instead.
And I really cba with a loft conversion, the dust would ruin my life, not to be dramatic!

orangeflags · 28/06/2023 21:48

You should have viewings at the weekend I would think.

Threeladsandaweelassie · 28/06/2023 21:51

I've put mine on 10k over what I'll accept @RedBonnet, so I'll take a bit of a cheeky offer, but unless it's completely doable for us, or vendor of the house we want is happy to go lower, then I'll be staying put.
I think a 5% drop is quite ridiculous within a week, stick to your guns.

If the market crashes, then the market crashes I'll be staying put.
Which is no hardship, I do love it here.
I've just found a house that would work much better for us!

We have been on 2 weeks now - went live in the Wednesday had one viewing on the Monday and luckily had an offer so currently negotiating. They are coming back to view again Friday before agreeing.

No other interest but we listed on the day the interest rates went up and they’ve gone up again since.

We are not in a rush as haven’t found an onward purchase but it is a bit worrying how slow it’s gone around here .

mnahmnah · 28/06/2023 21:53

We went live at 5.30pm. By the next morning 8.30 we had several requests. Booked them all in for viewings two days later. Got two offers within an hour of the viewings, one for full asking price, which we accepted. This was end of April.

RedBonnet · 29/06/2023 06:21

Same here @Threeladsandaweelassie

We don't have to move right now but worsening mobility issues mean we need a bungalow at some point. We only decided to sell now as we saw one we really love. If we miss out on it c'est la vie. I feel sorry for those that have to sell for work etc

tracylamont13 · 29/06/2023 06:27

Around a week for us

SollaSollew · 29/06/2023 08:12

i haven't sold for a while but can still remember the sickening wait for the estate agent to call. On another note though I just wanted to say you would probably find having a loft conversion no where near as dusty or invasive as other extension work. The majority of it can be done outside and before they even need to break through into the house, so if the worst comes to the worst it may not be as awful as you fear. Good luck though, I hope you hear something soon.

redspottedmug · 29/06/2023 08:30

The market is very slow atm.
2 years ago we sold without going on the market - photos taken in the morning, agent brought a couple for early viewing at 5pm, offer accepted 9am the following day. The house we bought appeared on RM at 9am, we viewed at 2pm and it was off the market by 4pm. Crazy really.
