  1. Knock through kitchen to make kitchen/diner/sitting area. Steel RSJ required
  2. New kitchen and appliances (builder will supply and fit from a well known kitchen supply place to my plan/design)
  3. Extend hall into former kitchen area to install a downstairs toilet, supply and fit
  4. Remove bath from main bathroom upstairs and fit shower stall, remove old tiling and flooring and replace. (Keeping the power shower that's there and all other fittings).
  5. New double doors from kitchen/dining area to sitting (TV) room.
  6. Remove old radiators and supply and fit new. Electrics as required.
  7. Replace all flooring downstairs (it will be the new cushioned waterproof vynil in new room, and engineered wood in the TV room and hall).
  8. Install new banisters in hall
  9. Plastering "new room", supply and fit glass spashback in kitchen.
  10. Painting exterior and interior.

I don't know if it is reasonable quote or not. I think it's ok for what I'm getting and I don't want to go cheap and cut any corners. Kitchen will not be top of the range but decent quality. Quote includes labour/trades and skips etc.

Just curious what people might guess!

Whenisitsummer · 30/05/2023 20:34

I’d have also said approx £80,000

How much have you been quoted?!

TiredandLate · 30/05/2023 20:35

£50-60k

ConsideringAnything · 30/05/2023 20:35

Depends where you are!
London/SE my guess is £110k
Elsewhere, I'd guess at £80k

SwedishDeathClearance · 30/05/2023 20:36

Impossible to say
How many radiators- what spec
how large a kitchen?
what quality of fit?

Sundaefraise · 30/05/2023 20:36

I would say £130,000 more if you are in London.

chezpopbang · 30/05/2023 20:36

This is such a tricky quote because the size of all of this will make a huge difference. You would be much better off getting multiple quotes to get an average price and then compare previous work and the vibe you get. A kitchen for 10 bed house is going to be much more expensive than for a 2 bed house.

KievLoverTwo · 30/05/2023 20:36

I am only playing if there is a prize.

Doggymummar · 30/05/2023 20:37

£100k give or take 10pc

£58,700

MinxieMax · 30/05/2023 20:40

Not in London or anywhere near it. Three bed house, just your average size not extended.

There are a few near enough correct guesses! Which is a relief.....

Keep going.

piglet81 · 30/05/2023 20:40

£180k.

Crazymadchickenlady · 30/05/2023 20:41

After doing something similar about 18 months ago (without the bathroom but did downstairs loo
and created a pantry) I’d say £80000. Ours was about £65000 but is a fairly high spec kitchen and neff appliances and amtico flooring.

RinklyRomaine · 30/05/2023 20:43

I think we got a bloody bargain for the work which completed on ours just over a year ago then! I'd say £65-70k based on that.

Butterflybutterflies · 30/05/2023 20:43

£120k because prices are crazy at reg moment!
