What the hell !! I really hope those doors are locked from the other side.

Netaporter · 22/11/2022 23:04

😳

Honeyroar · 22/11/2022 23:04

Very strange, but they’re not bedrooms according to the floor plan. They’re not even labelled.

GCAcademic · 22/11/2022 23:05

Going by the floor plan, the doors are cupboard doors, not doors to the bedroom.

SnarkyBag · 22/11/2022 23:05

They’re eves cupboards not bedrooms

sussexman · 22/11/2022 23:06

The doors are to storage spaces, not the bedrooms? See Floorplan. Weird as though.

Tryingtokeepgoing · 22/11/2022 23:06

Aren’t they just doors to eaves storage above the hall? Still dodgy, but no need to access frequently and objectively not that much more dangerous than a ladder to the loft…?

FatToFitPart3 · 22/11/2022 23:06

According to the floor plan those doors don’t lead to the two upstairs bedrooms. Just to two little anti rooms🤷‍♀️

That's even worse 😂 is it like the poster on here whose Dad found the hidden old room in the garage he was flooring? What was the outcome of that??

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 22/11/2022 23:07

They aren’t the doors to the bedrooms, I think they are doors to the roof void over the shower room and kitchen. The water supply was obviously added at a later date to the original house.

WipeYourFeet · 22/11/2022 23:07

Looks like they're to access attic storage space, if you look at the floor plans and the exterior photos.

Alphabet1spaghetti2 · 22/11/2022 23:08

I think they were once dressing rooms/walk in cupboards off the two bedrooms, but someone either had a death wish or wanted to practise their gymnastics and altered the access.
estate agents description is spot on!

MustDust · 22/11/2022 23:09

To be fair the weird over stairs doors are storage, not bedrooms, they're at the top of the stairs, but I'd still end up killing myself trying to use them!

MarmiteCoriander · 22/11/2022 23:09

I noticed several room deodorisers! Either its damp or stinks for other reasons 😬!

FrangipaniBlue · 22/11/2022 23:12

I'm more interested in what a decapitated outbuilding is????

One without a roof?

viques · 22/11/2022 23:16

A shared septic tank. Now that could be interesting!

Netaporter · 22/11/2022 23:16

I’d imagine it was auto correct and was meant to say dilapidated within the curtilage as opposed to decapitated within the privilege? 😂

I'm wondering this too 😂 all our buildings appear to have their roofs

Melroses · 22/11/2022 23:20

I remember looking at houses where the stairs go almost vertically from a 'cupboard' in the back room so that there was one room where if you stepped out one side of the door you were on the level, but the other side was almost a sheer drop.

Hopefully these all have new stairs now 🤔

That’s quite normal around here in very old houses.

The first photo is a strange one to choose.

Baconand · 22/11/2022 23:28

Ours used to have a very similar configuration!
Since converted, we now have 3 beds off a very small half landing and the storage knocked through. You can’t swing a cat outside the bedroom doors though.

I’d buy that if I had the cash. I’d put en suites in the storage and lose the downstairs bathroom. Alas in ours we couldn’t add plumbing upstairs so downstairs bathroom it is (but worth it as we live in a chocolate box thatched haven in a perfect village).

IhearyouClemFandango · 22/11/2022 23:29

Ah, that stairway reminds me of our old holiday cottage, one of the bedrooms and a loo were directly off the stairs

watcherintherye · 22/11/2022 23:31

More worrying is the mat in front of the range in the kitchen, which looks to me as though it’s partially covering a gaping hole! No wonder the agents warn that care should be taken when viewing!

zen1 · 22/11/2022 23:36

Picture four looks like someone’s bedded down in the kitchen and left their pillow and sleeping bag!
