Well that's a worry when we are close to exchange and completion on our next property!? 😭But I guess even in case of a reduction next year will likely recover again within a few years?
This will be our home for a good while, probably 10 years+ until children are grown. Sh*tting myself a bit but also desperate to move! Staying is not an option as I hate the town we live in.
Anyone else at a similar stage now worrying about this??

Im sure all the mugs with 100s of thousands of debt on basic properties are clapping and cheering with a tear in their eye at that news.

And there we have it ladies. That’s what he thinks of you.

freyamay74 · 29/12/2022 19:41

Yeah but we've got to let him have his little pleasures. Emphasis on the little 😂

Here we go …. The misogynistic mask is Slipping

Grow up. The level of basic economic awareness on here is shocking, you don`t need your mask off to see that.

@DeadHouseBounce makes lots of assumptions about other people which are very revealing about the prejudices and hatreds that permeate the HPC world view.

Funny how so many Mumsnet posters have managed to a) acquire a house, b) pay their bills since acquiring their house, c) are fairly happy with their circumstances and yet d) are the dumb ones.

Meanwhile the HPC crowd, in general, have a) not managed to acquire a house, b) are further from that goal than when they started posting on these forums, c) are fuming with impotent rage at everyone and the world about all of this, and yet d) are seemingly so much more economically literate then everyone else.

I'd rather be a dumb homeowner than a furious bedwetter, no matter how smart being a renter makes you.

How do you feel about being a furious debt grabber, then interest rates start going up at the fastest pace in 30 years? If you are trying to pretend that that makes people feel empowered then you are lying IMO, not only to them but also to yourself. People have not just "acquired a house" have they, they have also acquired a very large pile of debt to get the house, and the debt needs paying, even at three or four times the original interest rate.

Londongent · 29/12/2022 20:25

I'm genuinely curious @DeadHouseBounce if you are a homeowner? Or if you intend to become one when house prices fall? Or if you would stay in rented?

Furries · 30/12/2022 05:03

@DeadHouseBounce - good Lord, you really need to get a grip. Do you not realise that most people are deliberately “playing” with you - in order to invoke your weird posting style?

The fact is, most people on here own their home. They are paying off their debt each month - rather than paying for rent for the mortgage of their landlord.

You HCP lot keep sneering that we’ve been paying into a debt bubble (or whatever, CBA to look back and find the terminology you’ve used), and saying that we’re daft to do so - as you’ve all invested in a superior manor elsewhere.

Please, can you demonstrate/advise for anyone starting out now - where/how do you find the funds to invest for the future whilst also paying astronomical prices for renting? I have two godchildren - I am determined to offer them the best guidance possible. Should they rent and be investing funds elsewhere until they buy in cash or should they get a mortgage as soon as they can? Or should they just sit on their arses for years and moan about what could have been?

Londongent · 30/12/2022 08:39

@Furries this is the thing, reading through all the posts I think DHB doesn't own, and only will go into the market when it crashes. I just don't think it will ever fall to the level they think it will, and they will never own.

This thread should be titled ‘House prices fell by 10% in 2022’

No, it should be some fell by 10% mine actually went up by 15% if we are calculating the dead house bounce methodology of calculating house prices, i.e. what next door sold for
