Property prediction bingo!

SugarDatesandPistachios · 11/03/2022 05:08

I predict that my future house will reveal itself to me on the… pulls ball out 22nd of March!

You may also play! I had another thread but it was deleted because Mumsnet said conducting a virtual, spiritual property dance was culturally offensive.

Heyah Heyah! (I’m signing the OutKast song here!) 🏡 🏡 🏡 🪄

I’d like to play please! Opposite situation to you, I need a buyer.
I could do with ball number 11 or 12 please, the dates of our next 2 viewings 😀

InTheCludgie · 11/03/2022 08:40

I'll join in but mine is a bit more longer term and I need to draw in months! I predict that MIL's house will be sold by September (waiting on Probate atm) and we will have an offer accepted on a house in October, after likely losing out on a couple of others due to the the crazy offers over system here. I think I might be a bit ambitious in my predictions but I can hope!

LadyDanburysHat · 11/03/2022 08:42

I'd like an offer to appear today or Monday. My new house will magically appear on Wednesday.

EyesOpenButAsleep · 11/03/2022 12:46

This is a great idea. There’s some comfort in completely made-up predictions. The perfect house will pop up on right move … today at 4.23pm.

EyesOpenButAsleep · 11/03/2022 12:46

I will let you all know if it comes true Grin

SugarDatesandPistachios · 11/03/2022 14:11

Yes! That’s the spirit everyone!

I like how my bingo is a number. Definitely the 22nd of anything. For sure!

I also like some have days of the week and others months!

And even with time!! 4.23 sounds like a winner to me. Put it all on red!

I like this one, playing the long game therefore no need to panic!

So I got an offer yesterday and another higher one today. So my selling number is now 16. We are going to closing date.

Let's hope for 16 for my new house to appear too.

SugarDatesandPistachios · 13/03/2022 05:43

That’s brilliant news @LadyDanburysHat, the power of the property bingo is strong!

Feeding the baby who slept a bit better tonight, the power of this thread must have compelled him.

Been away to stay with friends this weekend in their beautiful Victorian mansion! Cements my desire for a period property! Live in a new build currently and so done with it!

22nds not far now!

Power of this thread doing well with offers and sleeping babies! I am hoping to be joining in on offer front soon! No idea how last two viewings went. Friday afternoon ones were either late or stayed about 35 mins, yesterday they either didn’t turn up or stayed 15 mins so not hopeful about them. Agent ringing tomorrow and if nothing from them we’ll reduce.

Been advised we don’t need probate to sell my Dad’s house that I have a share in so that will be going on soon. Not anticipating any issues with that one as things still going quickly there and although it is a doer Upper it had the windows replacing , a fairly recent rewire plus lots of work on roof.

House we offered on last year fallen through for second time and being dangled like a carrot again.

Beees · 13/03/2022 07:48

My number is 15 as that's the day we find out if our offer is chosen. I'm already so fed of house hunting, I'm too impatient and I just want to move now. Grin

fringeandtrainers · 13/03/2022 07:50

I'm playing too. We have had 2 offers 10k below but I would like them both to raise their offers 14 and new house reveal by 15.... Come on let's go!

Paddingtonthebear · 13/03/2022 07:56

I’ll play. We’ve been house hunting for nearly a year. I’m going to say 6th April is the day we will found a house 🙏

InTheCludgie · 13/03/2022 10:28

Good luck to everyone making and waiting on offers! Am a bit envious of everyone who's in a position to market their home and look at new ones.

fringeandtrainers · 14/03/2022 21:43

Well, we got our higher offer today... which I predicted. So, according to this thread, I should see a suitable house tomorrow !(crosses all fingers)

stuntbubbles · 15/03/2022 08:12

I’m in! I say…

28 March – the day we sell (not yet on the market but let’s not quibble)
4 April at 4.27pm – our offer is accepted

I’m going to move fast and hard 🍆

LadyDanburysHat · 16/03/2022 15:49

It's now the 16th and we have accepted an offer on our house. We also have booked two viewings today, for Friday.

Not sure either are where we want to be, but it is happening.

Beees · 16/03/2022 16:01

My number is 15 as that's the day we find out if our offer is chosen.

I'm going to be the first to shout it... BINGO!! This thread is magic! We did indeed have our offer accepted yesterday!!! Sending positive vibes out that everyone else is able to shout BINGO soon!

Whinge · 16/03/2022 20:06

Wow that's fantastic news. I hope everyone else is as lucky with their predictions. Shock
LadyDanburysHat · 18/03/2022 16:04

Congrats @Beees

We have seen two houses today, and two more to look at next week. Our market is finally picking up.

SugarDatesandPistachios · 21/03/2022 03:30

Omg @Beees!!! Congratulations!!! Tell me more about the house! Let me feed off the information like Rightmove Nosferatu!

Baby is teething. Sooo many wakes up. Nevermind… the 22nd is fast approaching!

OP posts:
SugarDatesandPistachios · 23/03/2022 19:44

Clearly not this 22nd.

Must be April 22nd.

Twiddles thumbs

LadyDanburysHat · 24/03/2022 13:59

We offered today on a house we saw on Friday, been on the market 6 months. We put in a cheeky low offer, and they have said they want asking. We have countered with halfway between. We are not willing to pay more as it needs work done on it. So now it's a waiting game.

InTheCludgie · 27/03/2022 08:57

Good luck LadyDanburysHat. I watch programmes such as Location Location Location and love how people tend to offer under asking and don't seem to offer full asking price (I'm guessing though from many of these recent threads here that it's changed days in this seller's market!).

Here in Scotland the vast majority of homes are offers over and in the area where I live (very sought after as its home to many of the best state schools in the country) its just gone crazy in the past year, with three bed semis for example selling at 25% over asking price.

However, I guess it's a more secure system here compared to all the gazumping and CF sellers demanding extra cash the day before exchange that seems to go on south of the border.

LadyDanburysHat · 28/03/2022 08:29

Thanks @InTheCludgie we are also in Scotland. The only reason we are offering under asking is because the house has been for sale for 6 months and needs a lot of work, I agree it's very much a sellers market for the most part. We got 18% over for ours.
