People who have a utility room and a dishwasher

Where is your dishwasher? Is it in the kitchen or the utility?

I was merrily planning to put it in the (as yet unbuilt) utility room, which will be off the kitchen, but it struck me that this maybe isn’t the best idea.

Is it better to keep it in the kitchen, close to the sink and wherever it’ll be stored? We have enough battles of wits about emptying it, to have it in a separate room may make that even worse 🤔

Used to be in the utility room, then we shifted everything around to put it in the kitchen by the sink.

I dream of having two dish washers...

I'd also like two dishwashers. I massively regret not thinking of it when we last did the kitchen

Dishwasher in the kitchen so I can unload it into the cupboards easily. The only time I've had a dishwasher outside the kitchen was in my first house where the kitchen was very small and we had an outhouse attached to take the dishwasher and washing machine.

The dishwasher in the kitchen have always been next to the sink, more for the water pipes probably, and the washing machines have always been by the back door (that's probably coincidence though!).

I would love the chance to plan a utility room OP, enjoy!

In the kitchen, next to the sink, with the cutlery drawer next to it as well. And the general use crocks in the next cupboard along.

Having a dishwasher is relatively new to us, only got one after the lockdown started, but I worked out PDQ that was how it needed to be.

In the kitchen, my washer, dryer, fridge/freezer & big freezer are in the utility room & I have a built in fridge in the kitchen

In kitchen. Ideally I'd like it below/beside the plate cupboard and cutlery drawer so I could stack clean plates and cutlery without carrying them around the kitchen.
