Support thread - the countdown to June 30th.... will we /won’t we make it???

So next week is June and the date is looming large! Wiltshire council are being particularly slow and searches not due back till 14th. Offer accepted early March.

36 days and counting between me moving house and a new kitchen and me moving house and saving hard to buy a kitchen in about 2 years time.

Anyone else being to feel the desperation kicking in just to all it all done and dusted!

Completed on our sale just waiting for purchase to go through. Will be loading vans for a while yet!

Finallygrowingup · 21/06/2021 14:12

Congratulations!! What a relief after 11 months!!

HumourReplacementTherapy · 21/06/2021 15:02

Still not exchanged....... 😩
Everything set our side, not sure on the vendors side of things. Is it too early for Gin?

HumourReplacementTherapy · 21/06/2021 15:04

Congrats @Mumelie WineThanksSmile

BrieCrackers · 21/06/2021 15:05

Well our house is all packed and we have moved out with the baby and the cats. We’re living with family until we complete on our purchase but there is some messing around going on at both ends of the chain so god knows when we’ll complete at this rate.

coffeequeenindevon · 21/06/2021 15:41

Kids and cats ready to move in with family here too, but still no exchange Sad I’m not sure how much more to chase. The EA is pretty useless and whilst our solicitor is fantastic there’s only so much she can do. We were told everything was ready last week but still no further clarity on why the delay.

Gettingonabitnow · 21/06/2021 15:55

We haven’t exchanged today either! I don’t understand what the delay is!!!!

Newhousehope · 21/06/2021 16:08

Vendors EA called and wanted to know if I’d chased solicitors yet. So I put my big girl pants on and dialled…. Actually spoke to him for the first time ever today! Lovely chap. Not very optimistic about meeting vendors wants of end of June though!

coffeequeenindevon · 21/06/2021 16:39

EA just called here too. Still aiming for 28th apparently. Exchange within 24 hours. This is the fourth time I’ve heard that so taking it with a pinch of salt. Oh, and @HumourReplacementTherapy - no, not too early for gin!

Whenwillthishappen · 21/06/2021 17:10

No exchange for us today as the solicitor at the bottom of the chain is still on holiday!! Beggars belief there is no cover. Our solicitor apparently has requested funds from barclays for completion 29th so keeping fingers crossed for exchange tomorrow....another night of worry and sleeplessness ahead....

Gettingonabitnow · 21/06/2021 17:25

We’ve exchanged! No news on our delayed purchase so moving in with family, but still, small amount of relief! X

Cocoaone · 21/06/2021 18:04

@Gettingonabitnow and @Mumelie Congratulations! So pleased for you both x

coffeequeenindevon · 21/06/2021 18:05

Brilliant news @Gettingonabitnow 🥳

JaffacakeJanine · 21/06/2021 18:09

So happy for you guys who have exchanged Grin

Sadly for me, just found out our last outstanding enquiry (HM land registry) has been delayed yet again, so any last glimmer of hope is gone to complete Sad Still fuming since we have been waiting since September, and really chasing absolutely everything!

Panda368 · 21/06/2021 18:44

We’ve had no news today. I’m choosing to take the fact our proposed completion date of 28th wasn’t immediately bounced by our buyers solicitor as good news and hopefully they have just passed it down the chain.

I’m beyond caring though. I stopped work at 12 with a massive unshift-able tension headache that no drugs would touch. I’ve had a 3 hour nap and now no longer care.

Dp has said he will chase our agents tomorrow. I’m done with chasing and short of a miracle we won’t make it so why worry now?

10YellowTulips · 21/06/2021 20:02

Congrats to all those who have exchanged or completed! Its great to see people getting there.

We should have exchanged today but there was confusion over whether vendors had given their solicitors final go-ahead or not.

Hopefully it will be tomorrow morning now. Funds for completion have been requested for Friday.

Newhousehope · 21/06/2021 20:54

Congratulations to those who made it today!

I never thought we’d make it, but kept it in the back of our heads as our vendor wanted it. It’ll be a miracle if we do. Haven’t even signed a contract yet!

Gettingonabitnow · 21/06/2021 20:56

Is everyone else arguing constantly with their other half’s / DH / partner, or is it just me?? It’s miserable at the moment.

Newhousehope · 21/06/2021 21:09

Yes @Gettingonabitnow - but he’s miserable from work and can’t switch off so we’re all getting his blunt grump side. Not arguing - bickering, petty things. Like tonight, over where to order dinner from as neither could be bothered to cook 🙄

GrapefruitTsunami · 21/06/2021 21:39

Hey, I've been lurking in this thread since it started. So great to see people completing before the deadline - it's giving me hope!

We're soooooo close to exchange but it's not looking like we'll do it before Wednesday. That's been my target for us to get the funds in from Halifax in time but I see that some of you are mentioning requesting the funds before you've exchanged. Can we do that? Is it something I should suggest to our solicitor?

Livingintheclouds · 21/06/2021 23:23

Congrats to those who exchanged and or completed!
I have had my offer accepted. Sellers are on the other side of the world so 12 hour time difference, and the previous buyers are happy to sell me their searches and survey but live in Dubai! I said I can do an international transfer and they can courier the searches and email the survey.
My lawyer dud point out she wondered how the signing of documents would go but maybe tge sellers have given power of attorney to their solicitors.
Anyway hopefully third time lucky! Daughter's prom tomorrow night so have been a bit distracted getting her bits and bobs ready!

Gettingonabitnow · 22/06/2021 07:53

@GrapefruitTsunami yeah you could mention it to solicitor? I’m not sure what happens though if you draw it down and then don’t complete? X

GrapefruitTsunami · 22/06/2021 08:20

I was wondering about that @gettingonabitnow

@10YellowTulips @Whenwillthishappen - Did your solicitors say anything about the risks? Was there a certain point you have to be at for them to request funds before exchange?

Whenwillthishappen · 22/06/2021 08:44

@GrapefruitTsunami no he didn't say anything until he told us he had done it!! He said he was getting ducks in a row so we can still complete 29th.Hasn't mentioned the risks or anything. I was surprised , but maybe its more normal than I thought??
