Support thread - the countdown to June 30th.... will we /won’t we make it???

So next week is June and the date is looming large! Wiltshire council are being particularly slow and searches not due back till 14th. Offer accepted early March.

36 days and counting between me moving house and a new kitchen and me moving house and saving hard to buy a kitchen in about 2 years time.

Anyone else being to feel the desperation kicking in just to all it all done and dusted!

I just realised that Wednesday is the last day we can exchange and meet the completion deadline. I really hope everything kicks into gear tomorrow.. we just need the vendor at the top to agree a date 😬

Whenwillthishappen · 20/06/2021 10:45

Good luck we are in the same position....every minute seems an hour doesn't it?

coffeequeenindevon · 20/06/2021 11:00

Been the slowest weekend ever. I have spent it packing as our move is meant to be Saturday (to storage), with completion Monday 28th. I flip between being positive and just getting on with it, to despair not helped by raging PMT! I still can’t believe we didn’t exchange as planned on Friday AngrySad

Panda368 · 20/06/2021 11:23

It’s definitely all got a bit much today, the pregnancy hormones seem to be raging as I’m usually pretty calm. I’ve had a small cry in Tesco carpark and I can’t face trying to pack.

coffeequeenindevon · 20/06/2021 12:13

You poor thing. I can’t imagine how hard this must be pregnant. It’s bad enough with the peri-menopause hormones flying around!

Ccoffee217 · 20/06/2021 13:03

@Panda368 well done for holding it together, stay strong!
I am really feeling the stress now too. 18 month old DS is being extra clingey and miserable and I haven't slept properly in days with the stress. Starting to feel it in my chest and head now too. This is seriously difficult for all of us so I think whatever happens next week we should all be proud of how we've got through it (trying to make myself feel better here can you tell 😂)

Newhousehope · 20/06/2021 13:11

Anxious feeling seems to be with me more often than not lately 🙄 just want it finished! Or know when it will be over 🤣 at least!!

Gettingonabitnow · 20/06/2021 13:38

Keep going ladies, it’s so stressful. We’ve been packing today for storage x

HumourReplacementTherapy · 20/06/2021 15:11

Pleased to hear you like the house and have it an offer in @Livingintheclouds Smile Would using the devious buyers conveyancer help speed things up? Did you say it was currently empty?

HumourReplacementTherapy · 20/06/2021 15:12

Previous!
Not devious! Sorry!

Mumelie · 20/06/2021 15:27

We've had the packers in all day finishing off breakables. I'm exhausted keeping out of their way! Last push to load up tomorrow morning. God I hope this goes through ok - it's been such a nightmare up until now. At least the funds are all in place so it's only incompetence that'll be an issue now!
Good luck everyone for whatever the next few days brings 🤞🏼

Didicat · 20/06/2021 15:35

@Livingintheclouds glad you liked the house enough to offer, hope they get back to you quickly!

We’ve ignored moving house for today and done an 18 mile cycle ride, I will sleep well I am knackered!

Only 7 working days left until June 30th

Totally missed your update @Livingintheclouds - super nees.
Many congratulations and 🤞 for a quick transaction!

Unsure33 · 20/06/2021 16:35

Joining the stress chain . Only 3 in the chain the bottom are putting us under huge pressure so we have had to break the chain and offer to rent which is the last thing we want to do so now we only have 7 working days for our solicitor to exchange and complete on our sale .

It means everyone else below saves stamp duty but not us . But we had such a good offer on our house we could not refuse .

I am trying to keep positive and hope that if our purchase falls through we will be a cash buyer for anything else that comes up . But the stress is huge and the top solicitor have been absolutely awful only answered 1 enquiry out of 10 which were sent on 4th May .

coffeequeenindevon · 20/06/2021 19:23

Welcome @Unsure33!

Lots done here today. If our sale doesn’t go through at least I can now deep clean the house as everything is in boxes!

DaddysGirl36 · 20/06/2021 22:39

Panic stations tonight!

Last week our sellers mentioned indemnity insurance so we could complete without searches. Our solicitor said no point as we wouldn't make June. Sellers EA has not relayed this to them so they think we've done this & are still expecting completion. I've told them this isn't the case but have agreed to discuss with our solicitor again tomorrow. Is this madness? It's only 8 working days of the month left. If we pay & it doesn't complete then we've possibly wasted hundreds as June SDLT deadline doesn't affect us so we can wait longer. We do want to help sellers & also want to move ASAP so happy to try but I'm very stressed

gelatodipistacchio · 20/06/2021 22:51

@Panda368 going through this while pregnant sounds excruciating!

I'm trying to remain calm and accept that this sale may not happen. For some reason, I'm hopelessly optimistic even though we don't have a date set for exchange or completion and the sellers' solicitor is being cagey for reasons that are not clear to me.

I need to have work done on the house before moving in, and tomorrow I am going to have to call to pay for a pair of reclaimed fire surrounds that may be sold out from under me if I don't pounce. Getting in deeper despite the uncertainty!

Panda2021 · 20/06/2021 23:07

@DaddysGirl36 it should be your sellers organising the indemnity not you! They are indemnifying that the searches are not back and that risk is yours. Why do they think you would be organising this ?

They are doing it for their purchase & want us to also do it so we can complete in time for no stamp duty (which only affects them). I was happy to do it if possible but our solicitor says it's not, theirs say it is...

Gettingonabitnow · 21/06/2021 05:36

Good luck everyone. Big day today for a few people. We are due to exchange although it will be bittersweet with NOWHERE TO ACTUALLY MOVE TO!! 😂 x

Cocoaone · 21/06/2021 05:44

@DaddysGirl36 it might be that your solicitor knows that your mortgage lender won't accept indemnity against searches? Or that they knows it will take too long to set up and get signed off by the mortgage lender?

Lots of luck to those of you who are waiting for movement today 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽

Newhousehope · 21/06/2021 06:35

Here’s to probably one of the most frantic weeks some of us will face 🙈
Good luck to all those who still stand a chance of squeezing in!

Didicat · 21/06/2021 07:02

Good luck to everyone who woke up in a cold sweat and panic this morning. Everything crossed for I fear this week is going to be a bumpy ride.

Good luck everyone. I'm going with the attitude of Hope for the best but expect the worst.. Hope we all manage to get a few changes in the next 3 days 🤞

That's exactly it. Not enough time last week, definitely not time now if that's their opinion
