So next week is June and the date is looming large! Wiltshire council are being particularly slow and searches not due back till 14th. Offer accepted early March.

36 days and counting between me moving house and a new kitchen and me moving house and saving hard to buy a kitchen in about 2 years time.

Anyone else being to feel the desperation kicking in just to all it all done and dusted!

I've finally pulled out the big guns with our agents and said DP wants to re-market if we don't have confirmed dates by EOD today/monday.

I like being able to use a scapegoat for a threat but it still feels scary to send an email like that. I've absolutely had enough of this now

Stressful day here for us too. No exchange yet and solicitors all pointing fingers at each other about where the hold up is… a couple of last minute enquiries came through from our buyers yesterday which had sent the chain above into a tizzy so we’re desperately hoping that the solicitor below us sends confirmation up soon or we won’t make the date. Eeeeek!!

Just found out no exchange today! Still waiting for buyers funds to come from the lender. Will be exchanging and completing on Monday if all goes to plan. If it doesn't the whole thing is off.

Buyers, their solicitor and their mortgage broker failed to inform us of their mortgage offer expiry date. They also didn't extend it. We only found out on Wednesday. This has been the most stressful move we ever and it could all still fall apart. If we don't complete on Monday they have to reapply which would mean us missing the SDLT deadline.

Yep, plenty of potentially wasted time and money going on here too. Moving stuff into storage so costs for that kick in tomorrow and I’ve had to pay for the parking bay suspension.

The vendors solicitors have ignored mine and she phoned up and they have gone for lunch ffs!

I’ve half a mind to leave really shitty reviews on trustpilot for them!

Our solicitors are ready to exchange. They haven’t heard from the other side.

Rang sales progressor. The buyer’s solicitor is ready to exchange.

Why can’t the solicitors do their job and just call each other? Why are they routing through me & the sales progressor playing telephone tag?

My hope that we would exchange today (or yesterday, or Wednesday) is dimming by the minute

Lost hope for any good news here despite being told late yesterday that we could exchange today. This morning dragged, but as we edge towards 5pm, and another weekend of stress, time is flying by. Just heard from our solicitor on a matter relating to an offer we’ve just made on a house so I know she’s there!

@coffeequeenindevon I’m sorry to hear you’re in the same boat. I am desperate to exchange by close of play because I just don’t want another weekend of uncertainty.

We have movers booked for next Saturday so I need to spend this weekend decluttering & organising, and it’s a lot easier to be motivated to finish the job knowing the move is set in stone.

Exactly the same here @Porridgeislife. Movers booked for next Saturday with a view to completing on 28th. Agh! This is so grim.

I just don’t understand why conveyancers rely on email and phone communication which is basically at the level of carrier pidgeon in these days of Slack, Asana etc. If I hear “well, we haven’t heard from the other side” one more time I will scream.

There should be some form of financial relief for the mental torture meted out by slow solicitors, I need a large glass of wine and a dark room! Feel like I’m getting a migraine so the wine is off the cards

Buyers told us about ten days ago that having said they were chain free they are not. They are selling a flat. They then said actually they could proceed without the sale having gone through but have now decided not too. Exchange on their flat sale has been ‘very close’ for days, and now apparently there are still outstanding enquiries. I just swore at the agent. I am not proud of myself.
