Hi all

My fridge freezer is probably kaput. I normally buy white good from John Lewis, but their selction is dire at the moment. I have found what I need on AO, but I don't know what their service is like. Anyone able to share experience?

Also, any recommendations on make? I would love a Miele but can't find one to fit the space at a price I can manage. I have found a Samsung that will fit.

Ta!

We used AO nearly four years ago. We got a Samsung washing machine (eco bubble) and a Zanussi dryer. We also got a Samsung fridge freezer. Had no issues with any of these items. Couldn’t fault the service and delivery was on time. Didn’t need to contact them or customer services after purchase and delivery so can’t comment on that side.

I’ve just replaced my Samsung fridge/ freezer after 20 years. So excellent
I bought separate small freezer and fridge to replace. Bought freezer from Curry’s (as I had a gift card) and bought Swan fridge from AO
Delivered on selected date and was able to track in real time to see when delivery due. No issues at all

We bought a chest freezer for the garage from them just before Christmas.

They were very good, took away rubbish and installed it etc. We were told not to switch it on for a few hours so the delivery people had left when we actually did this. The freezer tripped our electric repeatedly and was obviously broken. We called customer services and they were very good. Got a replacement to us really quickly and offered a better and bigger model for the same price to replace quicker than original item. We had to decline this because of tight space. I would definitely use them again. Customer services was in UK too if you were wondering.

We bought a Beko fridge freezer from them last year, service was very good

I always buy from AO. Highly recommend them

goodbyefridge · 05/05/2021 12:33

Oh, that's all very encouraging, thanks!

Buy through boots appliances instead! It's all supplied, delivered and installed by AO, but with the added bonus of advantage card points.

Livingmyobituary · 05/05/2021 12:36

They have a budget branch called elek direct where they have a really large number of fridges and freezers even cheaper than their usual prices
They have the full 12 months guarantee plus they deliver would be worth trying

Itwasntme101 · 05/05/2021 12:37

If you have a boots card their kitchen appliances site is run by AO but you get points on your boots cards. The prices might be different though so check if it's worth it.

fourquenelles · 05/05/2021 12:38

I too always buy through AO. They have not let me down so far.

MenaiMna · 05/05/2021 12:39

I use their ebay outlet (they have a location in Telford you can visit). Two fridge freezers (both in use), dryer and vacuum cleaner from there. If I'm buying direct from the main website I collect nectar points too. Service and selection very good.

Chunkymenrock · 05/05/2021 12:41

Love AO. Very good. Go through the Topcashback website though, for more savings!

itsalltrue22 · 05/05/2021 12:42

In the last 8 years we have bought every one of our appliances from AO. Service and delivery are second to none.

GalOopNorth · 05/05/2021 12:42

Have used AO 4 times in past 2 years ( washing machine, big fridge, tumble dryer and dishwasher) and they have been fantastic each time. Highly recommend

OhRene · 05/05/2021 12:43

I always use AO. Never had an issue yet. Top notch service.

OhRene · 05/05/2021 12:47

When I'm looking for a new large appliance I try and find the best price possible. Other than Very Catalogue when I have a voucher code, AO have almost always been the best price I could find. So not only speedy and easily trackable delivery (plus I loved that they removed my old broken fridge freezer) they're the cheapest.

MadisonAvenue · 05/05/2021 12:48

I’ve only used them once and they let me down. I ordered a dishwasher last year, had a notification the day before saying that it would be delivered the following day but then had a phone call the following morning to say that it was actually out of stock and wouldn’t be available for another three weeks. I had a refund and had one delivered by Argos two days later.

InpatientGardener · 05/05/2021 12:48

Personally wouldn't use AO again , we bought a hoover washer drier that had 5 faults in the first year, then a further 2 six months later. When I complained, customer service were really rude and told me that at 18 months it was usual for white goods to need repairs/start breaking down. They offered us £100 towards a replacement when the original cost us £500. Could be a one off though as lots of people seem to have had positive experiences.

MeadowsInSunshine · 05/05/2021 12:51

AO have been fine when we've used them. Samsung fridge freezers less so - we've had two break, one within the guarantee, one just out of it.

Danni91 · 05/05/2021 12:52

I never had an issue with AO until this year.

Id check their refund/replacement policy because I bought a pair of beat headphones from there in Janurary and they wouldn't charge up properly but because the box was opened they would only offer me a partial refund as standard.

How the fuck was i to know they was broken without opening them!?

I had also ordered a TV, wall mount, and a new dishwasher in the same order so nothing weird that should cause them concern enough to refuse to replace / even look at them.

Also not helped by the fact i spent £20 on the old dishwasher to be taken away but the guys refused on the day as the van was too full. Had to leave it outside for 3 days before they came back.

Now i have no idea where I will shop for appliances tbh 😂

AlexaNeverListens · 05/05/2021 13:02

I'd only buy from AO now. Their customer service is amazing 🤩

ArsenicNLace · 05/05/2021 13:10

I agree with everyone else. I have bought all my appliances including white goods. Fantastic customer service.

My only slight issue is the phone call post service trying to sell you an extended warranty. I now know to ignore it or just be prepared to say 'no thank-you' firmly but that's it.

I was going to post just this. We got a Samsung from them a couple of years ago. Great service and a good price.
thebeach · 05/05/2021 13:28

We've used AO several times in the last 2 years, very happy with the service

goodbyefridge · 05/05/2021 13:37

Thank you everybody!
