Considering to buy a house similar to the below. Potentially maxing our budget. What are ppl thoughts. It's all very new (too new?) worried it will be difficult to sell if we do decide to move...what would you do? Buy old and do up or go fir something all new and ready to live in...

It's made me feel really nostalgic about the days when I was allowed to go into the office to work Sad

There is a development of houses that have the same external cladding and flat roofs in the area. They looked lovely when erected, but 6-7 years later, they are really tatty looking. For £1.5m I would hope the wood was good quality but I bet there is maintenace to be done on it.
The outdoor space would mean its a no from me. It seems to be overlooked,
I don't like the openplan kitchen/family room approach, it seems to be dated already. The dining room is narrow and too far from the kitchen
Bedroom 6 is a bit of a problem too- no family bathroom for them to use, so a trip downstairs to use the loo and where do they shower? I'd call it a study.

Hi Op
This housing property seems more like a very upmarket stylish Hotel/Apartments look/feel to the place..

Its looks like to me it needs personal touch to give more warm,to add more of whoever moves lives there their own identity by having personal touches such as paintings,or vase of flowers/plants etc in certain places in the house.
And having adding garden colourful containers of plants in front of property.
I agree with other poster it does have a Commercial property look/feel to it too.

whysorude · 29/12/2020 20:57

Love the house but not the lack of garden or location.

Also, who will be cleaning the five bathrooms, and downstairs loo too?

GCAcademic · 29/12/2020 20:58

For that money I would be expecting a lot more. Not least a garden, and not just a bit of decking.

GCAcademic · 29/12/2020 21:00

And I agree with PP who said that the cladding will look really tatty in a few years’ time.

JM10 · 29/12/2020 21:00

I like the outside, the inside I nothing special and I'd want a much bigger garden

custardbear · 29/12/2020 21:01

It's over priced even for Sevenoaks - and I've Just sold a House there so know it quite well! Location isn't good, by a school and rugby club so parking a nightmare and probably blocking in

The smallest bedroom has no access to a toilet or shower

Only bath is in the main bathroom

Box sized shower rooms

Cladding horrible

Other than that it's nice!

Horrible.

Mrsmadevans · 29/12/2020 21:04

I am so sorry OP but l think it looks like a prefab from the 50's .

Shortfeet · 29/12/2020 21:05

No soul.
Ghastly

quirkyquails · 29/12/2020 21:07

It's a sterile box so no, I wouldn't be buying it.

emilybrontescorsett · 29/12/2020 21:08

I like it. The garden needs work though.

EwwSprouts · 29/12/2020 21:08

I thought it was one of those small eco green homes on an estate in London not £1.5m in Kent!

Personally it doesn't appeal and I think the whole street looks depressing. I would find it claustrophobic with the tiny garden and high walls.

Justgorgeous · 29/12/2020 21:08

It’s awful,

longtompot · 29/12/2020 21:08

For that amount of money, no. We have a rugby pitch behind us and the lights during the winter months light up our garden. Plus the noise from the games. For that sort of money, I'd either expect more quiet, or a convenient location.

Porridgeoat · 29/12/2020 21:09

Love it!

SunscreenCentral · 29/12/2020 21:10

It looks like the kind of place I’d be delighted to Airbnb in for a weekend but I wouldn’t want to live in.

Poppyolive90 · 29/12/2020 21:10

Not to my style or taste at all but that is an enormous house for the money! Mine is worth around the same but is maybe 2/5ths of the size

Ellmau · 29/12/2020 21:11

The inside is OK, but that kind of wooden front ages really badly, really quickly. There's a similar development near where my DPs live. A few years on it's really stained and horrid looking.

The outside space is pretty cramped too.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 29/12/2020 21:11

Horrible.

Saltblood · 29/12/2020 21:11

‘Straight Outta Swindon’

Looks like they rehashed an ex callcentre depot trying to pass off as contemporary homes for mugs wiling to pay a million.

Bettina500 · 29/12/2020 21:11

I would want a lot more for that money despite location.
I hate the style, it seems to be the thing on a lot of new builds near me. As others have said it's a very retro style that I don't think it will age well. The wood cladding looks a pig to maintain and those big windows would be a no for me.
